I have the ultimate Suggestion for Australia's first entry should it come to fruition that would offer massive gameplay for only 60-62miles (98-103km) worth of track in total and in similar vein to Frankfurt S-Bahn but would need better design techniques than asset placing, which hopefully in how they are doing metro rivals with open source map data to dynamically create the buildings etc comes to TSW if successful or consoles might tank with this one!

Route Set in 2025 would be Sydney Central to Emu plains/ Liverpool (via Merrylands + Regents Park) + Bankstown & Homebush (branch) lines, and to include the Freight loop and Enfield yards.
This will cover 52 stations / 4 intermodal / 3 ballast + cement yards / Auburn + Eveleigh workshops along with multiple stabling yards all this within a total of 60-62miles (98-103km) of track

Sydney Trains commuter service : https://transportnsw.info/sydney-trains-network-map
    T1 Central to Emu Plains
T2 Central + Parramatta to Liverpool (ai there after)
    T3 Central to Liverpool
T5 Blacktown to Liverpool (ai either side)
    T6 Lidcombe to Bankstown
    T7 Lidcombe to Homebush
T9 Central to Strathfield (ai thereafter)
Intercity - Central to Emu plains (limited stops) AI there after for off map to Lithgow
AI for all off map city circle services from central incl T4 +T8

    Rolling stock for suburban runs

    K-set T2/T3

    Tangara T-set -T1/T2/T5/T9
    [IMG]

    Waratah series 2 B-set - T1/T2/T3/T7/T9
    [IMG]

    Intercity - D - sets Blue Mountains (T1) + Central Coast & Newcastle lines (T9)

    Regional + interstate XPT Trains:
Central to Penrith (stopping Strathfield + parramatta) AI there after for off map to Dubbo
Central to Strathfield AI there after for off map to Brisbane
    AI XPT services for Melbourne

Bathurst Bullet - Central to Penrith (limited stops) AI thereafter for Western region

Then a ton load of freight with Numerous freight yards including their dedicated Southern Sydney freight line (which has zero overhead wires for a good portion) from Liverpool to Enfield and up to Flemington using C44aci (N class), call it OZ version of a 66 and the GM class (very similar to EMD F7) which does the run on the main network starting Enfield (ai off map to/from Port Botany) to Yenorra intermodal!
this covers what yards are within the chosen sections, https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/si.../western-sydney-freight-line-map-Oct-2025.png

I understand licensing etc but even as an Aussie who lives in Sydney I could deal with unbranded just to get something like this in the game as Australia and Sydney has a tremendous commuter network with trains running nearly every 5-10 minutes peak and 10-15min off peak meaning a healthy TT with varying service patterns and excellent game play options on a non-linear DLC!

Good suggestion, but the reality seems to be unless a competent local based third party comes forward it seems unlikely DTG would throw resources at something so far from home. So much would have to be built from scratch too, even the unique foliage.

I just don't want people getting their hopes up. Various Oz routes have been suggested since TSW and these forums came into being but nothing has come about. And, being realistic, how many payware routes have been done for TSC? Precisely none, the only one that comes remotely close being the NZ Midland Line.

    You shouldn't hope anyway,
because what if it's not accepted?
The disappointment will be greater than if it were necessary.
Japan isn't one of DTG's three target groups.
So that wasn't self-evident, even though you can at least try by posting a suggestion on the forum.

I understand the reality that we wont see anything from Australia in a game called train sim world due to many reason but should by some Christmas miracle we do, this suggestion I have posted would be my preferred option.... So much more gameplay (than most DLCs today) with good mixture of Suburban, intercity and regional services + healthy freight seen.. With the amount of rolling stock available they could easily start with 2-3 trains plus a gameplay train like they do for most DLC these days then expand on that, introducing further gameplay packs, easy coin! and good news all pax trains have more then just 2 stops for game play..

Yes mate, its Sydney Australia...And for its size, It has a very comprehensive suburban train network with a good range of rolling stock on top of a pretty good light rail and driverless metro system, not to mention a busy freight scene as many trains from Melbourne to Brisbane and vice versa transit through Sydney outskirts with a dedicated freight only line in certain areas that runs with the main suburban lines.

TBH Australia has better railway network than many of the DLC we have and would offer more than just 200 services of gameplay! I understand the need to be onsite for many projects but many a project in MSFS (namely airports) are created with images found through varies online sources and someone local to feed them information by developers located on the other side of the world so its not out of the realm that a project like this could be completed in the UK.. Just look at some of the cab views to be used as reference..

Central to Parramatta and then to Penrith in a V set which covers basically the entire mainline I proposed

    www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lj5GyhKsXiA&t=3s

This one is at the Enfield yards and runs through the mainline then onto T2/T5 Line from Granville to the Yennora intermodal and covers many of the ground in my suggestion

While here's the GM27 from above on that dedicated freight line I have linked from 49min mark is from the small stabling section just south of Liverpool to Enfield yards which runs with the T3 (and parts of the T2 + 5)
    www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVYVOcglCyw

Not bad gameplay for only 60-62miles (98-103km) worth of track!

They've only just started on the Blue mountains line but because they are similar to the suburban rolling stock I thought the intercity V sets while they are still operational would be a better choice, but D sets are fine and TBH I'll be happy with anything Sydney trains lol...

On another note, soon we'll have the R sets replacing basically the entire regional and XPT fleets

Regarding this one it's actually a Dual mode locomotive like what we have with the British class 802 New Jersey Transit ALP-45DP DP which I have seen of personally. That meant we can have a scenario where the Electric System broke down and you must reach Sydney Central Station on diesel power

I would probably go with the Mariyung set over the V set now I look at it a bit more, not only for what you have advised but fits into the 2025 time period request as they have started and V-sets will be gone by Feb next year at this stage.. And should Australian train network in a train sim world game finally get a look in it opens up for other possibilities since it runs on the T9 line or for future Newcastle/Central coast lines..Ive updated the OP

I know this is only a pipedream but hey why cant the suggestion be put forward!

I'd go with the D-set as standard and the V-set as a throwback DLC (like the '38 tube stock for Bakerloo). Non-flipping ironing boards aside I'm a big fan of the D-sets, the Intercitys have been in dire need of an upgrade for years with things like bike racks, charging ports, tray tables and in-carriage displays. Plus they haul ass in comparison (acceleration _and_ speed), the V-sets feel positively glacial in comparison. All the V-sets have going for them are the flipping seats (I don't actually rate them as _that_ comfortable due to the arm rests and vinyl fabric) and nostalgia

I think we should get Australia as a core route in TSW7 (if they decide to be money hungry again). Would be nice to see places like Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth in the game.
