For those that have done the winter survey, which routes did you vote for getting a remaster? (There is a limit to how many options I can put in the poll so I put American freight routes and steam routes together)

    In the end went for:
Hauptstrecke Hamburg-Lübeck: I don't find the gameplay on Hamburg - Lubeck that interesting, but I think it would be nice to see Hamburg and Lubeck with TSW 6 level scenery and TOD4, and if the scenery gets remastered it might make another route including Hamburg more likely which I think would be nice (ideally an unelectrified route)
Ruhr Sieg Nord: I like the freight on it
Spirit of Steam: I think Liverpool still looks good, it would be nice to see the rest of the route look good too

    Other options I considered:
Tees Valley Line or Northern Trans-Pennine - would be nice to see these updated to look as good as JT routes and use new rolling stock
East Coastway - would nice to see an update with the upcoming class 171 pack, although I would prefer a paid extension to Ashford rather than a free remaster
    Main Spessart Bahn
    Köln-Aachen
    - would be nice to have a remaster with the updated timetable
LGV Méditerranée - most of it looks terrible

East Coastway as it’s getting a gameplay pack soon, plus the two older BR blue routes that are looking rather outdated now - Tees Valley and Trans Pennine. I’d of voted for BML but DTG seemed to have more or less disowned that now.

I think TSW2020 and TSW2 deserve the TOD4 treatment the most, as TSW3 routes still look relatively good.

    I chose:

ECW - New gameplay pack incoming, feels right to bring this route up to TOD4 standards
BML - Paid extension to London Bridge, Class 700 timetable included
NTP - A golden oldie and fan favourites from the BR era routes. Always welcome any excuse to drive the Class 101 :)

I voted for BML as think it’s probably still the best route in the game, could be brought up better with Thameslink added and the few botched bits of scenery sorted.

Ruhr Sieg Nord, especially when also extended to Siegen.

NYT - for the obvious correction of signals. The scenery could also be updated, at least to Morristown standards with the NYC skyline, etc. Some added static freight and few services would be a nice touch. And, of course, suspension, announcements, and all the other "features" that have come out since TSW3.

BML - there are so many posts and threads about what could be done with Brighton. I'm sure it will be a popular choice.

MSB - I wanted to pick a route from all three major areas but Germany was a difficult choice to make because there are so many good candidates, including RSN and HRR, among others. Out of all the "older" routes I still play MSB the most and it could be so much better with updated scenery/lighting/timetable plus better use of Aschaffenburg and Lohr industries. Probably will not get a ton of votes though because it is so old I think it somewhat forgotten, unfortunately.

I voted Brighton Mainline, TVL, and Trenton

BML mainly for TOD5 and a timetable including the Class 700 (and any other subsequently released stock that's appropriate). Maybe some scenery improvements here and there.

TVL i'd also like to see an expansion to Stockton. Maybe a Class 25 loco DLC?

Trenton- i'd also like to see signalling fixes and a new timetable to include the Arrow III, and an expansion to include NJT Morrisville Yard.

Asking for quite a bit, but it IS the Season of Reveals after all lol

You have clearly made some excellent choices. If I had gone with a second UK route it would definitely have been TVL!

TVL and NTP for me, great routes that could do with a face-lift and additional foliage. Then add in any of the newer locos with a few new loco addons and it could be an absolute belter.

I'd like somebody to pick up the original 20, 31 and heavy freight packs and upgrade the models, smoke etc. JT would be a great choice to pick these up and expand them.

Would like to see BML get the treatment.
Not just because it would be nice to have a 700 in official timetable, but you can also add the 378 in at Clapham Junction to give the route more life, and you could even fake up a 707 from the 700 in unbranded SWR livery to give the Clapham area something on the south western lines.

    I voted for...
Spirit of Steam: In my opinion not a bad route but it could really use a new timetable and maybe even an extension to Liverpool Riverside or even Chester.
Tees Valley Line: I always liked the industrial Atmosphere of it, with all the freight yards but it really shows it age now. This route could use a new timetable aswell and maybe some extensions.
Ruhr-Sieg Nord: It´s a classic, I´m a big fan of industrial routes, of course I voted for this one aswell. I would love to have the full route to Siegen and the Branch Line to Iserlohn.

If there were more than 3 Choices allowed, I would have voted for NTP and Peak Forest aswell.

I went for Hamburg-Lübeck because it‘s my local and the BR 218 deserves a TOD4 home.

Köln-Aachen because we already got the new timetable and it would benefit enormously

And Brighton Mainline which I don‘t really need to explain right? ;)

Could have gone for many, but went for 3 German routes that could have superb timetables (and would benefit from new lighting/scenery/announcements/etc)

    Haupstrecke Rhein-Ruhr

ICEs, Flixtrain, 442, 642, OEBB coaches

    Munich - Augsburg
    ICE1, ICE-T, IC, OEBB coaches, 442, 642, 628, 612, 218, 111

    Rhein-Ruhr Osten
    ICEs, IC, 442, 612, 628, 642

A very interesting and highly requested survey for me! I'm absolutely convinced that all old content should be updated and improved. Old routes should be given a new lease of life!

But I'd start with the TSW mother route, the Sand Patch Grade (the most worthy candidate).
Second, I'd put the Ruhr Sieg Nord—a true railway classic (with an extension to Siegen). I remember how excited I was when I saw it back in Rail Works!
Third, I want to see the Rapid Transit. One of the TSW firstborn trains, and a bit of an "ugly duckling" that needs to be transformed into a beautiful swan.

And a big dream that only Rivet can make come true! My wish for Santa Claus: Arosa 2.0, please.

    NTP, TVL and Clinchfield.

All three could be supported by additional DLC.

    TVL by the Class 56.

NTP by the Class 25 or Class 124 Trans Pennine DMU.

Clinchfield by another vintage diesel, believe GP7 and GP9 high hood variants have been mentioned.

NTP is an absolute classic, although I could equally have voted for TVL. With a facelift and TOD-4 lighting either could be as good as anything in the game (especially if some of JT's rolling stock layers in)

Clinchfield: Niche, I know, but a nearly-awesome route for those who like that sort of thing, and to date the only vintage American route. It only needed some tweaks on release, and today of course needs lighting redone.

Munchen-Augsburg: Minority pick, I know; but if they were to overhaul the signaling and put in a RL level of traffic using the much expanded German fleet (and add the Munich skyline) it could be great

BML, LGV and ECW (I don’t own the latter, but couldn’t think of a third route).

I'd mostly go for Rapid Transit, it's the oldest german route, but they've now (for Dresden-Leipzig) got a valid model for Leipzig Hbf (oben), which could be reused for a Rapid Transit remaster, opening the possibility for the now missing long-distance traffic ((Berlin-)Bitterfeld-Leipzig Hbf (ICE1, ICE T, IC (BR 101), (Hannover-Magdeburg-)Dessau-Leipzig Hbf (ok, mostly IC2...), some other regional routes with additional rolling stock and even freight services branching off to Leipzig-Leutzsch and Leipzig-Engelsdorf around Leipzig Messe I think, not used on RT right now. Actually that would really revive the route, giving it a quite wide-spread modal split with plenty additional service types and rolling stock that could be layered in from the other routes.

NTP & TVL - These routes were great at the time of their release, but are looking rather dated when lined up against the polished offerings from the Just Trains team. I'd actually prefer these two were given the LIRR 2.0 remaster treatment so that we could see potential extensions to them both!

Spirit of Steam - I know this route is TOD4 already, but the scenery, track and timetable are severely lacking for a steam era mainline experience. Any potential remaster would also need a line-up of new steam locomotives as loco DLC to fill in a potential timetable upgrade, the Jubilee, 8F and 4F are nowhere near enough to cover it all alone. A steam era route done properly with realistic variety of locomotives would be something on another level within TSW. An additional pointer would be upgrading the existing locomotives with the upcoming steam physics upgrades currently being worked on by TSG as of this post.

My shout out would be ECW - Solid route overall, but looks extremely dated now. I didn't put it on my survey response though as I firmly believe the next remaster should be one of the historical UK routes.

Tees Valley TOD4 update is bound to happen soon lol. It’s highly requested. Love that route. I’d also like to see Rapid Transit and Bakerloo Line get an upgrade. :)

A remastered HRR would be my top pick, especially to compliment the new route from Duisburg. It's a very quiet route with only the 422, 425 and 101 when it could have a lot more from the modern catalogue, including among others ICE services.

MSB is up there too for a very similar reason, but with an extension to Hanau and/or Würzburg you would have a full ICE service in-game from Mainz to Würzburg, hopping at Frankfurt and Hanau.

Rapid Transit is up there for me because, while it's not a particularly interesting route nor does it have a particularly interesting train - it's in a really aged state. A refresh (complementing the Dresden - Leipzig route) would be a good move.

UK wise I think TVL and NTP speak for themselves, especially as Just Trains expand on the BR rolling stock, a lot for DTG to play with there.
BML in a dream world but it's not awful.
East Coastway for the new gameplay pack would be good, too.

Cant remember what I finally sent. I know I voted for Ruhr Sieg Nord, but the other two options I changed several times because there are quite a number of routes that could be much better than they are just with a few changes and a new timetable. Sad.

A remastered Brighton Route, but the time table is pretty intense anyway so I doubt it would be comparable with PS4, put the 700s on there, give it some love and I think it would be pretty good, it needs an over haul like the GWR route is having. It would also be nice to have a vintage slam door pack for the BML too, now that would generate a lot of interest. DTG are you listening, Asobo listens to us, so why don't you?. Fallen on deaf ears....like normal!.

The 350s were literally designed as 450s to begin with. It'd work greatm also, they have tried rail shoes in game. It's only for a small bit of immersion at Clapham junction

It's clear who conducted the survey.... A majority of English people, which doesn't surprise me at all since the survey is in English.

In short, if it had been in German, the majority of responses would be German.....
Ultimately, DTG surveys are useless since only the English conduct them.

    I went for:
Northern Transpennine - the lighting is pretty bad which puts me off running that route, probably my number 1 pick for a remaster as there's a lot of potential for this route. I'd love to see a class 124 which would fit perfectly on this route as well as the 104.
Tees Valley - for similar reasons, although the lighting is generally not as bad as NTP
Bakerloo - Would be nice to see the WCML section done to the same standard as WCML-S, plus TSW6 announcements would fit this route very well.

As much as the steam era routes would also benefit from a remaster, there's sadly not much point until more steam locos that are appropriate for the route make an appearance.

And basically a UK game with a largely UK player base.

Not sure what the complaint is?

Germans are quite welcome to make Zugsimulationswelt 7 and I will not complain about the majority of content being German!!

More like a complete remake from scratch.

I can't remember for sure, but I would think I voted for Peninsula Corridor, Bakerloo and Steam. I'd also add Arosalinie.

My focus is on German and Austrian routes, so I voted accordingly. And I seem to be quite the outlier here with my choices.
    I voted for:

München-Augsburg because of all the German routes, this one needs a remaster the most in my opinion. The new timetable Vindicity has made shows how capable the route really is. With beefed-up graphics, a fitting timetable and reworked signalling, it could offer something for any taste: S-Bahn, regional, fast and freight trains. Especially in light of the 420 being somewhere on the horizon. :)

Main-Spessart-Bahn because I have a soft spot for this route. Sure, it doesn't offer anything special in particular, but it's a nice chill route for some relaxed after-work relaxation. And there's scope for expansion towards route-hopping spots on both ends.

Tharandter Rampe because I consider it to be one of the most overlooked hidden gems of German routes, and a route with lots of potential. For one, the scenery is quite unique and driving is challenging and a lot of fun. Modern graphics and rolling stock would elevate it even more, especially considering it's a route hopping opportunity to one of TSW6's core routes. Also, if it gets remastered, its flagship vehicle - the 612 - might get a much-needed overhaul too :)

I choose Northeast Corridor for a reason that way we can have Morristown and Worcester equipment on it

It's 2025, and your browser (at least Chrome) has a "translate page" button. This comment was written through a translator Built into the Google keyboard. No problems understanding languages.

I voted for the IOW route.

So long as it is remastered into the full network including some Cowes, the pier tramway is reinstated and that we get a nice little black or green kettle. :D

I missed that in the list. So l did the other sub Rivet offerings. All their routes need a remaster, but unfortunately that won’t happen. At least the releases by other 3rd party developers are much much more realistic.

That's a bit strange. You sound like you think all foreign players can't understand English, but that's not true. The most important thing is the number of players and how active they are. If someone doesn't care about a survey, they won't fill it in. It's not hard to see that UK content has the most interest, with German content in second place and US content in last place (at least when we look at the three main countries). If the survey was only filled out by English people, surely the US would come ahead of Germany, wouldn't it?

If the survey was written in German, most people would not fill it in. This is because much more people speak English than German. English is the most popular international language, so if you want to reach a wide audience, you'll use English.

The survey was publicised in a number of places, so many players saw it. It wasn't just in the UK newspaper – it was accessible to players from all over the world.

I should mention that I'm not German or English, so it's easier for me to look at this objectively.
