The latest UK route just got announced by Firefly Simulations and it is the Medway Valley Line! I have actually known about this route for some time now and I am super excited for it because I think it looks fantastic and the team at Firefly have gone the extra mile to make it a great route with working GSMR and CCTV, it's gonna be an amazing little route.
It looks GREAT!!! And the devs said we can set up the GSMR if we want to by enabling expert mode, FINALLY!!!
Finally a new Southeastern route. Can't wait for this. Do the SE Class 377s run on the Medway Valley Line in real life? I been hoping we get the 377s at somepoint since it's basically a Southern 377.
Yes . Looking forward to this line. The scenery looks amazing. I’m a big fan of any southeastern route. Keep them coming
It's about time. Would have preferred a slam door era though with a mixture of semaphores and modern signals. If it isn't a complete mess upon release I will probably buy it.
Looks great, just hope it doesn't blur... EDIT; Just to make it clear, this isn't aimed aggressively at Firefly, but more a general comment about the game issue
Was a bit of snoozer on TSC... but it´s an end to end run with a bit of reworked SEAH. I think it´s a decent choice for a first route from the team.
I love the amount of detail you can see in this just from the screenshots. Initially I thought "oh another Electrostar" but I love the way they're working with the GSMR and CCTV just giving it another level! Also can't wait to see the lighting on this one specifically on console with some of the work by Jetwash! One little side note from me, on Xbox with the TSW3 or TSW4 update the electrostars horn and signal bell sometimes breaks and the horn cuts off/distorts (can show a video). And for some reason it's only on electrostars from BML onwards so if you guys can get on top of that I can see myself spending a lot more time on the 375! Used to love it before those horn/sound issues
We have an entirely new (and dare I say, pretty special) sound set for the 375’s, and a great deal of effort has been put into making sure you are able to hear ALL of it, in full, any time you are intended to. The audio on console should be no different to that on PC. For now you’ll just have to trust me but this 375 has won me over, and that is by no means an easy feat
Am I dreaming This includes lots of little quality of life improvements I have wanted to see in this game for quite a while. I cannot thank firefly enough
Thankyou for that Jetwash! That's really amazing to hear the level of detail you guys have gone into! Makes me all the more excited to see what you guys have come up with!
Looking good. The line runs behind my aunt's house I'll have to see if I can spot it. I was hoping for a new route to drive the class 465 and here it is. Looking forward to this.
As a Londoner, genuinely excited for this to come out. More sub-class variants, and plenty of new and improved features, and a brand new sound set. Only inquiry I have is the cab differences (?), I’m sure the /3 and /6 have a couple of distinctive cab features. Anyone can enlighten me? Sub-Class variants should definitely be layered into SEHS and possibly BML. (Doubt the latter will happen). Would we see a Class 377/3 (from rivet) appearing hourly at Tonbridge, if not, at least a /4 from BML?
More electrostars - more diversity on the south. Alongside 377/3 in ECW Gameplay Pack we will also get 375/3 and 375/6 with MVL. It's going to easily be day 1 purchase for me. Two questions from me tho: Will the 375/6 sub in for 375/9 services on SEHS for variety as well as the other way around with 375/9 subbing for 375/6 services, as the 2 have a little different design and it would addup to the traffic variety along the route? Class 375/6 is the one with pantograph iirc, what about class 375/7 or class 375/8 which is the same but without AC equipement, was it considered for variety? Either way, looking forward to this route as it is exactly what I'm enjoying.
FINALLY about time we get new Class 375 variants... Can these be ever be subbing trains on the SEHS route?
Probably not one for me as a modern route, but I have to say it looks fantastic and very well put together. Well done to the team behind it! Maybe if a Connex 4-CEP appears in TSW I might go for this route.
This looks good and while I’m not the world’s greatest Electrostar fan, the reworked sounds are good news. The era probably won’t be suitable but it would be nice to see a reskinned Class 33 doing the East Peckham balllast trip as immortalised in the Locomaster Profiles Medway Crompton cab ride DVD. Though minus the David Maxey commentary! Of course a tad of disappointment for those of us who were hoping for the Wherry Lines. Maybe on the next one.
Looks good but not one for me sadly. Hopefully the devs have a great first release though giving its their initial release hopefully goes smoothly
Medway Valley would definitely not be my first choice for another third rail line, at least on its own. In the TSC version I'm pretty sure you could drive to Victoria as well, which IMO would be a much better deal. That being said, the detail on this route looks absolutely incredible. I just hope this isn't the only third rail line we get for another 3 years. One day, I'd like to drive that newly reworked class 375 into Charing Cross
A snooze route for me, so I will pass probably. Glad for the electrostar fanboys though. I dont understand why they need to redo some SEHS if its Strood to somewhere not on the SEHS map
these types of routes are the exact reason why I'm going to pick third party routes over anything DTG releases.
Nice and a DLC where Console users aren't considered an afterthought. Will be watching this with interest.
In the summers of early 2000s they used to run some steam specials between Maidstone West and Tonbridge. It would be great if a couple of those services could be built in to the timetable
Working CCTV is an interesting addition - keen to see feedback from that, because it'd be good if we could get working CCTV on the outside of trains for doors and dispatching. Looks like great work, though I'm not surprised given those involved
Fair enough I believe London is "where its at" in terms of Southeastern, but I'm hoping this route proves me wrong! Going off the screenshots we have it'll be a very immersive experience. For me it has to be Hastings to Charing Cross and Cannon Street. London Bridge in TSW would be something else, with all the 375s, 465s, 700s, 377s and 171s, not to mention the Overground AI you could have at New Cross as well.
There's a strong rumour that some third party or DTG are constructing the Wherry Lines - a creator was showing amazing screenshots of their progress of this route in the editor forum, but was contacted by someone saying they are already making it - this made them stop all their progress, unfortunately. Who it is, who knows. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/wherry-lines.92551/
