The Harlem Line, MTA Metro-North, the devious, the despicable. The Harlem line isnt talked about much in this game, why is that? Mostly cause you only drive subways, well i think we should add other units that have run on the Harlem line. This includes P32DCs, F40s, and the Charger (which have recently entered service). This would also include comet cars for them to hual. Ive also left out the Geeps so i guess add those too.
I think i did the wrong research, i dont think F40s ran into Grand Central due to not having third rail, not sure tho
I would like to see the following. M8 EMUs I know they announce Metro-North/NEC to Stamford.. but I wouldve like to see it extended to New Haven - Hudson Line to Poughkeepsie - Harlem Line extended to Southeast ( LIRR upgrade/Extension - Main Line 3rd Track to Ronkonkama - Bablyon Branch w/ Central Branch - Far Rockaway Branch or Port Washinton - DE30 AC Dual Mode Engines And work with MTA appease them to allow all the bells and whistles with their engines.
It does for operating characteristics. AC traction motors perform differently than DC traction motors; a P32AC-DM drives differently than a P42DC. P32's are also a 12-cylinder locomotive versus a 16-cylinder in the LD variants, which only highlight their operating differences further. The F40's and Comet cars run on the West of Hudson (WOH) routes out of Hoboken, and do not run into GCT. Aside from not having third-rail shoes, the F40's lack any sort of front escape egress in the nose for use in the Park Avenue Tunnels. For push-pull equipment on East of Hudson (EOH) routes, Metro-North operates a few variations of Shoreliner-series cars based off the Comet design. The only Geeps that operate on EOH routes are GP35's in work train duty, never passenger service. The passenger Geeps are GP40's that only work WOH routes, along with the F40's. As far as driving subways, the Budd and Bombardier EMU's are larger and handle differently than the equipment the NYCTA uses. You are also only underground in the Park Avenue Tunnels immediately in/out of Grand Central. Coincidentally, though, the NYCTA R44/46 cars were based off the design of the M1, the first iteration of the M3 represented in-game.
