I do but it was crashing like this before I installed that, I have tried it with no mods, something is loading in around a mile outside of smethwick rolfe st on approach from bhm direction towards crewe, the strangest thing is its fine in the other direction Edit: Just removed all the WCML:P2C 2019 paks just to double check and it still crashes exact same spot right before smethwick rolfe st. Also removed the branding pack for B2C and still the crash. I just ran Birmingham to Wolves with the TFW153 and no crash or frame drop near Smethwick Rolfe Street. It is really weird how its only happening in all the 350s only.
IvyJoanTurner, my UE crashes with the 350 are at the exact same place as yours, but with all my mods uninstalled, I ran a 350 service with out the crashing. I am going to run one today with all mods, except the files related to the new C2P tt and see what happens. I have now run 2 350 services without the UE crash, 2W12, 350/2 and 9F34 350/3. My thoughts are that the 350 pak file (TpE) in the new tt set is conflicting with the 350s here.
I removed all files to to do with the WCML:C2P, the timetable, the route, the trains, all of them. No luck. I have tried with no mods, same issuse. I am glad it worked for you but not for me unfortunately which is odd
IvyJoanTurner, yes it is very odd. Your system is very similar to mine. The same processor, I have a NVidia 4090 for video as opposed to your Radeon card. I am running Windows 11 latest build, 64 GB of installed ram. Today I plan to put the C2P 2019 files back in except the 350 one and see what happens.
So update to this, I cleared shader caches for steam, directx and amd and tried with no mods and it worked, I then tried removing half my mods and it crashed, so I narrowed it further and it appears to be godmode unfortunately, even after removing it the game stopped working until I cleared the shader caches again and then ran it with all my other mods but left out godmode so I think I've found the culprit in my case. It is unfortunate because godmode is one of those mods that I simply cannot do without given the FOV ability it gives you. I will make a note of it on the mod page on TSC
IvyJoanTurner, I just checked and I am running version 0-6-1 of God Mode. I am not having the problem when its installed.
Current version of God Mode is 0.6.3 - https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/mods/c3-train-sim-world/c75-utilities/i2703-tsw-god-mode-alpha-063
That's probably because 0.6.1 doesn't include B2C. I̶f̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶ ̶s̶e̶n̶d̶ ̶m̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶p̶a̶k̶ ̶f̶i̶l̶e̶ ̶I̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶ ̶s̶e̶e̶ ̶a̶b̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶t̶r̶y̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶w̶o̶r̶k̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶t̶r̶y̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶a̶l̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶w̶o̶r̶k̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶B̶2̶C̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶c̶r̶a̶s̶h̶i̶n̶g̶.̶
9Y14 in Journey Mode. Had to delete a stuck train in the platform at Wolverhampton to clear two trains (1G35 and an XC service) that were also stuck outside ahead of me.
Since last update, I did a 350 run from Birmingham to Crewe. It did blur around Smethwick, but not as much when not zoomed in. Still work to be done though.
Yep I just did one and it seems to have fixed my crashing as well, still poor fps wise around Smethwick Rolfe Street though. But only in the 350, dont ask me why lol Scratch that, it's crashing again, I think it's gotta be performance related but it's odd it only happens in 350s, hopefully the route can be further optimised especially around Smethwick Rolfe Street
Before the patch, I did a 220 service and everything was blurry minus the train. Did one after and nothing blurred. It does seem to be 350 related.
Yes and no, I am sometimes crashing with godmode installed, this mod comes with its own ini files that vary per route, if I drop the settings in the B2C ini far below par for other routes such as Riviera and Morristown then there is no crash at Smethwick Rolfe Street however performance wise it is still very poor fps. If I play with no godmode (or any other mods) then performance is still poor with poor fps but also no crashes. I have started reducing the settings before smethwick and upping them again after, which stops the crashing at SRS but still gives poor FPS even without other mods, and even without mods at all. The higher settings work at Crewe and BHM which are by far more complex parts of the route, Smethwick Rolfe Street is just a problem area for some reason, I imagine it's some kind of texture loading issue, the 350's seem to be texture heavy since it is only crashing with those trains, on consoles the 350s are also more blurry than other trains especially around Smethwick Rolfe Street. Thats why I say it's not a mod issue, it's an optimisation issue with the 350's and especially the area around SRS
We are looking at further optimisations at present, the team is exploring multiple avenues including the trains themselves. No crashes have been reported after previous patches so can only assume the ini tweaks are what are leading to potential crashes in this case however hopefully we can provide more news soon regarding further optimisations.
Kezz, I have had the UE crashes at Smethwick Rolfe Street, but for me it was the 2019 tt mod and the associated files related to P2C. I have removed them and the route runs fine. I also have good fps rates. As others have said, it seems to be 350 related and I feel it's the 350 TpE pak file in the tt mod noted. My system is very similar to IvyJoanTurner, I just have the Nvidia 4090 card and twice as much RAM. I run with God Mode and the weather ini files in it and do not seem to have any problems now. I have run 2 different 350 services, 2w12 and 9f34, without UE crashes at Smethwick Rolfe Street.
See I can run the route fine (apart from poor fps near SRS) when I have this P2C mod installed no crashing even with the TPE350 In our case its probably the ram or graphics memory difference but idk. Either way the performance is still poor for me around SRS even with no mods. It is about the same with the godmode ini lowered settings. But hey ho, at least its not crashing anymore. Glad the devs are looking into further optimisations
Further to 9Y14, further red light jam approaching New Street with trains stood out to beyond Soho with a stuck train on P1 or P2. Had to delete three or four trains to remove the tangle and free up the path to finish my run.
Struggling with the Unit Exchange scenario on Xbox Series S. There aren't any markers to walk to which makes it unplayable? Same problem in Soho depot and Birmingham New Street.
Far too many services blocking lines, train off path errors causing red signals and blocking up lines. You have to delete the service causing the issue. To further add, an awful lot of random faults. Nearly 1 per stop
Just ran service 9F46 on Xbox Series X. Really great route except all the blurry textures and you can't even complete the service because at the very end you get a memory error / crash. Only thing that pisses me off more than wasting money, is wasting time just find out I wasted my money.
Sorry if already been posted can anyone do pendolino 9 car job 9M50 and 9M52 Tried 3 times now and they CTD straight away with a out of video memory message. This on xbox series. Im getting really peed off with this now. This no better then what it was when it was released back in October.
Services to/from Lime Street do not call at Runcorn East as the voice announcements suggests. The Pendo's will be doing bloody well if they get to Runcorn East under their own power as it's not electrified.
Probably already mentioned but the Crewe to Euston semi fasts via New Street and Northampton are still being announced as Marston Green then Euston!
I've ended up switching announcements off, they're a right mess. Yet another 'feature' that doesn't work properly and will never be fixed
God the stopping zones at new street are horrible just would not register until I was 2 yards from the red signal. It cant be like irl can it. Also anyone else think the freight times you are given are way too short.
Just did a blur-less run from Birmingham New Street to Stafford with the 220 with the 350 turned off. Really sucks having to turn off the main train to be able to enjoy the route though, as it meant I only saw two AI trains, (a 170 and a 390), except for those inside New Street. Just gotta pretend the 350 drivers are on strike or something I guess... (For context I had the 170, 220, WMR 323 and the 390 enabled, as well as the 158, but that wouldn't effect said run due to only appearing at Crewe)
The phone next to the GSMR is white, it is actually black in all 3 subclasses. The arrangement for the PA/IC buttons should be horizontal in the /2s not vertically (/1 are vertical) next time I work a 350/3 I'll advise the location of those buttons.
This is for a reason - because BHM has platforms that are splt, ie. platform 8 + 8a, trains stop at one half of the platform and another train can stop in the other half. When this happens in TSW the developer must use accurate stopping marker. I dont know why, but this is what a modder told me when they made a timetable for BCC, I assume its the same for this route as it makes use of the split platform system.
Yea i know but making it so it doesn't register until you 1yd from a red signal is insane. And most of the time you are the only train on the platform..
Mentioned previously but Class 350 inertia... Why at 95 MPH descending Madeley Bank around 1 in 177 am I having to keep power on to avoid slowing down. Yet running into Crewe or any other location at 15 to 20 MPH on a shallower falling gradient the train is picking up speed and requiring a brake application to keep in check. So the physics values for drag and wheel/rail inertia at speed need another pass. Not to mention the velocities are still bouncing around all over the place on the accelerometer, even when coasting.
I think I have found the cause of the crashing to be just running out of graphics memory. See my specs below I have 16GB dedicated VRAM and it is all used by this route. Am now experiencing crashes with just the class 170 without any god mode alterations or godmode installed at all. Think the fact of the matter is that this game is poorly optimised. When I can run BG3 at 4k and not be using as much VRAM as this game idk, it feels like something has gone wrong somewhere. Every other route I don't have these problems and that's not calling out the developer for this route in particular but it seems to highlight a real problem with optimisation. Its incredibly hard not to assume this is partly why console users are getting blurry textures either because their graphics cards often have even less dedicated VRAM. The xbox series X for example has upto 13.5GB VRAM. I have 16GB and I experience no blurry textures but certainly experience crashes when the game just simply runs out of VRAM to utilise. I am sure I heard something recently where someone accidentally revealed that trains once loaded into graphics memory are not unloaded. So its just taking up space in VRAM which could be used by other things. It's disappointing to say the least. I am glad DTG is bringing in 3rd party devs to handle routes. Hopefully they can focus on optimising the core of the game to reduce the load on the VRAM. If I had the money I'd pick up a 7900XTX with 24GB VRAM to test my theory. If anyone wants to donate to this effort you can paypal me lol!
PS5 player here… I own all the layers and have them on and I must say that since the patches/updates I’ve had no crashes, AI Spads and the announcements have been improved. I get some blurry textures around Crewe but nothing major. I’ve really been enjoying this route. I’ve only played various 350 services so far and the braking characteristics seem to have been improved too. Here is a bit of feedback on some things I’ve noticed, mainly around infrastructure speeds and signalling:- No AWS bell/horn associated with the first two signals departing Crewe on the Up Slow and Up Fast. 100mph speed board not present on Up Slow for speed increase 75-100. No AWS bell/horn for the signal on the Down Stour approaching Coseley. When I drove a service on the Up Fast, approaching Stafford with the route already set for Platform 1, the signalling sequence I encountered was incorrect. I was given Green - Double Yellow - Single Yellow with No1 Junction indicator. If the route for Platform 1 has been set before approaching SC3598 then you should encounter Double flashing Yellows - Single flashing Yellow - Steady Single Yellow with No1 Junction indicator. You would only encounter a green signal at SC3598 if you were continuing on the Up Fast (through line at Stafford) There should also be a 75mph/ EPS 85mph warning board and associated AWS magnet on the Up Fast just before the 40mph loop for Platform 1 at Stafford, for a speed reduction south of Stafford. (This may not have been included because it is only relevant for services going off towards the Trent Valley, but you would still need to acknowledge the AWS warning regardless) There should be a 15mph warning board and associated AWS magnet located on the Up Stour, Bushbury Viaduct on approach to Wolverhampton for the 60-15mph speed reduction arriving in to Wolves. The 30mph speed board on the Up Stour south of Wolverhampton for the 15-30mph increase just after Crane St Junction is missing. Upon passing the signal after Rolfe St on the Up Stour there should be a 30/65mph differential warning board and associated AWS magnet for speed reduction which begins just after Soho South Junction. Unless this was put in place after 2019 Again, Im not sure what it was like in 2019 but now upon leaving New St it’s 40mph in the tunnel until you reach the 65mph, not 40/50, and all lines are 10mph within the station. No 15mph. I worked a local stopping service from Wolverhampton and as I approached the signal in the tunnel protecting New St I was given a Green Signal with Platform 2 Route Indicator. However this should have been a Double Yellow as the Mid-Platform signal was a Single Yellow with a Red at the South end. On the Down Stour approaching the signal protecting Wolverhampton Station at Crane St Viaduct, I triggered the TPWS OSS when the signal was at danger. I was travelling at around 10mph, well below a speed which should trigger it. Departing Crewe on platform 6 on the Up Slow, it said on the HUD that the speed limit is 20mph. However the speed limit is 60mph all the way out of Platform 6 until the increase to 75mph. I was also given an ‘S’ route indicator for the Up Slow at the platform signal when you require aspect only to join the Up Slow. I have seen somewhere feedback that on Platform 5 the speed limit must be wrong being 60mph leaving Crewe. 60mph is technically correct though in reality you are only going to get up to 20mph to crossover to the Up Fast. On services to Liverpool the train is announcing Runcorn East. It is not possible for it to stop there, but it can stop at Runcorn. Although neutral sections are not simulated, the neutral section boards are all in the correct place to allow players to shut off power for a more immersive experience, apart from the one at Whitmore (Stableford) OHNS - almost exactly half way between Crewe and Stafford. Platform 7 at Crewe is 163m long and an 8-car 350 does just fit when positioned 6ft from the buffers. However when I was looking around the station there was an 8-car in the platform squeezed up to the buffers about 1 ft away and the end cab was still hanging off the platform. (This would be handy to tweak for the upcoming Trent Valley route as the majority of LNR 350 Euston services go in to 7. ) Platform 2 at Crewe is 159m long and therefore does not accommodate an 8-car 350, however the one I saw was stabled quite comfortably so the modelling is a little off. Despite this Crewe station really does look impressive so a big well done. The level of detail in this route is excellent. I know that it has had quite a few teething issues and some negative feedback but I’ve found that even with all 21 layers on I’ve not had any real problems after the patches. it is an impressive first route from AAS and I’m looking forward to their next installment, WCML- Trent Valley. Ironically all LNR Crewe-Euston services have just changed to 730/2s in the December timetable. Good opportunity for a new loco add-on later down the line. The route gets a thumbs up from me!
