All but one CWM that I sign are 3 mph irrespective of if it’s washing or not.

Also, in this one it’s animated as if it’s washing.

Something I was wondering yesterday, does the 350 have a speed set? Unless I’m mistaken I seem to remember the TSC version having a speed set, so should the tsw version have it too?

You’d have to find it first. Is missing in TSW.

It doesn't appear that the Class 350 standing up and being wedged into the roof bug has been fixed. It's a game-ending bug when you get a door fault and have to leave the cab.

You can sort out door faults with the external free cam

I decided to take a punt on this with my expectations in check following the announcement of Milton Keynes-Crewe purely because I like the intentions of this dev and wanted to be supportive what they’re trying to do. Long WCML routes that link existing routes are at the very top of my (and other peoples wish list) so I wanted to put my money where my mouth is.

I’m on Xbox. Again with expectations in check, I was prepared for whatever came at me. I didn’t think I’d actually be requesting my first DLC refund since New York Trenton but here I am. After NYT I self imposed a “no more day one DLC” rule and actually managed to stick with that until about a year ago.

Blurry textures? I actually didn’t experience any with all layers enabled. Dropped frames? Borderline unbearable but I was prepared to work through it. The reason I’ve asked for a refund though, I’ve played this route for 3 hours and in that time, I’ve been unable to complete the service for various reasons. I took the 390 to New Street from Crewe and as I arrived, the stop marker was behind a red, halfway out of the station and when I stopped at the end of the platform, it didn’t trigger the “open doors” command. Frustrated , I tried a couple more runs. All bar one spawned me in random places all over the route meaning I had to go back to the menu, wasting time. After that I thought I’d try a scenario. 1hr 30 min run from Crewe to Birmingham in the 350 in bad conditions. My kind of run, let’s go. An hour later, I get my first game crash in over 4 years. I tried, I wasted my evening/morning off and it’s back to work with my “free time” completely wasted.

I appreciate what they’re trying to do here but you can’t put that out for £30 and not expect people to be upset. The above is the very definition of being littered with bugs and whilst I’m not that bothered as I have my money back (and there are other routes), I fully understand why so many people are upset.

This has the potential to be the best route in the game and I can’t stress enough how much I want to support what this dev is trying to do but I’d rather something on a smaller scale that just works. I’ve been playing Tees Valley a lot recently and it’s taken me back to a simpler time when I was just overjoyed that a train simulation of any description existed on console. That was simply enough for me and that, along with NTP, MSB, the original LIRR - were simply enough.

If you can’t deliver it, don’t offer it

Hey, firstly sorry you've had issues with the route. I have tested on Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X on a few services and I'm not seeing any crashes, do you remember which headcode it was that you were driving so I can have a look. We haven't had any crash reports in that are related to the route after last patch dropped, we know blurry textures seems to be an issue still and are looking at how we can improve the route overall further so if you don't mind dropping any insight here or in the feedback thread, I can add it to our list.

    Cheers!

What I will honestly say about the route is that in praise of it, it’s great to have the variety of high speed and lower speed sections. However it should never have released in such a bugged state, the patch updates should have fixed all the issues with it long before now, the pathing is poor. What I mean by the last one is that things like the 86/87 railtour would have been routed along the slow lines not the fasts, some of the Birmingham services would likely use platform 1 on occasion, the issue I have is that the route is very empty in places it shouldn’t be and it’s very much Groundhog Day once you’ve done a few trips.

    Yes.

Same. I keep firing up Tees Valley, NTP and even WCL on Xbox recently, because they seem to be the only routes that basically work ok these days!!

in all fairness to you guys whom have done a great job with the route i doubt there is very much you can do in terms of the blurry textures as this is evident on other routes as well so is down to DTG to fix not you. As usual though DTG will probably take a step back let others do the work then head the praise for it in a patch.

Things must be really bad if you're turning to WCL.

    It's nice.

Very basic, but also very chill. Winter runs early morning or evening are also very picturesque. Nice bit of steam as well.

This was one my most sought-after routes, but after seeing the disaster on launch day I held off, until now. I figured I'd treat myself to an early Chrissie present and I kinda regret it.

Did a 07-something 323 service from Wolverhampton to New Street. All was going well (despite the fact it funnelled me out in front of a 390 who then went stick for stick behind me the whole way ), but when I hit Smethwich Rolfe Street I had a crash to desktop. Upon doing a little searching on the forums it seems that it's a fairly common issue.

Great. Money well spent. Merry Christmas, Dovetail.

You don't say what platform you're on, but for me on PC Steam I can say that the repeatable crash I was getting on approach to Smethwick Rolfe Street (when using a modified engine.ini file through Jetwash's mod) was cured in the recent update.

Clearly feelings towards this route are platform-dependent, but for me on PC, I don't regret the purchase of this route one bit.

Fastest services on today’s timetable do it in about 1hr5mins, stoppers about 1hr40. Both LNR & AWC services have runs that take anywhere from the former to the latter times.

how is suddenly possible to build such a long route? We´ve been told for years that it is not economical.

Well, DTG don’t see it as economical (at least not more than once a year), as they’ve historically pumped out a route every couple of months. The guys doing longer routes (JT for example) do one a year, so obviously they have longer to develop.

I don’t think any third party has said it’s not been economical, but also look at which routes are the longer ones. They aren’t starting in London or other major cities, they go between regional centres.

Starting a run from New Street with the 350, I noticed there were no departure announcements, the AI didn’t kick in until approaching the first stop at Galton Bridge.

The sound annoucements are all over the shop, for example I've spent a few hours at Crewe and only ever heard a handful of announcements and then you get them making no sense, stopping at stations they would not stop at and stopping patterns which are not as IRL timetable.

A tip, turn them off until they get fixed, which will probably be never

Agree with you there - unfortunately it's not just on this route, but it's not been brilliantly executed throughout the TSW6 routes and it's a feature that could be so much better - it seems worse now than when TSW6 first came out, we don't seem to be getting anything departing Exeter in cab for example and i'm sure that did work at first and also the issues on the fact that at terminus stations - trains can have an arriving and departing announcement, sadly seems to be beyond the game at the moment (Manchester Piccadilly springs to mind),,,I think it's quite limited at Crewe and it's a shame for such a big interchange station.
