    Hi all,

I recently had a clear-out of the Creators Club liveries I had subscribed to over the years, as a lot of them were not getting used and / or I'd found better versions on TrainSimCommunity. I noticed a couple of liveries that I couldn't unsubscribe from since they'd been withdrawn from the Creators Club (which is a stupid bug, you should still be able to unsubscribe from content from within the game even if it's no longer listed online..) but discovered through a forum search that if you delete the contents of \TrainSimWorld6\Saved\PersistentDownloadDir\UGC\0 then it rebuilds the Creators Club inventory without the obsolete content, so I did that and all good so far.

However since having my clearout, I've also reimported a bunch of TSW3 liveries using RagingLighting's excellent TSW3 Livery Manager and these are all listed in-game, but I've noticed the old TSW2LIV format liveries are not appearing when I try to spawn a train. I'm using version 1.1.0 of TSW3LM since v1.1.1 produces an error message with TSW2 liveries.

Has anyone managed to get TSW2 liveries to appear in TSW6 or is this now a thing of the past? Is there a trick to getting them to work? I'm convinced I had TSW2 liveries working in the first few weeks of using TSW6. I'm specifically trying to get these two TGV liveries back into the game. They require LGV Med and the Livery Editor Logo Pack, both of which I have, but I have the same issue with any TSW2 liveries I've tried.

I have both of the UGC settings enabled in Advanced Settings (for those not aware, there's a bug with these options that means instead of just stopping AI services from using user-generated content, it makes the content disappear from the game altogether until you re-enable the option. I've reported it to DTG.)

Bumpety-bump, really would like to figure out if it's a general issue or if it's just something to do with my setup. Surely there are others out there who've tried to get TSW2 reskins into TSW6? I'm convinced I had them working on my old setup before I changed PC and reinstalled everything.

Please read the question before replying. This post is about importing TSW2 liveries on PC using the third-party Livery Manager tool. Going by your posts on the forum you seem to be an Xbox user.

Just bumping this thread up, surely someone here knows whether the TSW2 livery format still works in TSW6. It's a shame if not as there was some cracking content out there.

It seems to be hit and miss :/ Unless I've mistaken some TSW3 liveries as TSW2, some work and others don't. I know some livery creators have been going back and "remastering" their older ones for TSW5+6 so hopefully they might get round to the ones you are seeking :)

Thanks for the reply! What I've found through trial and error is that version 1.1.1 of the Livery Manager doesn't seem to support the TSW2 format at all, as far as I can tell ("object reference not set" error on every livery I've tried). I was able to get a TSW2 livery into the game using version 1.1.0, a TGV Duplex in original Atlantique livery, specifically this set : https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...duplex-in-blue-silver-white-atlantique-livery

However this only worked after I deleted my UGCLiveries_0.sav file, created a custom livery in game to regenerate the file and then started importing from scratch. At one point I added another livery using the Livery Manager and it seems to have corrupted the liveries file, as the TGV liveries were no longer showing up. I tried to start from scratch once again and was unable to get the livery to show in game the second time around, so I'm a bit baffled. I wonder if RagingLightning is still around and might be able to help? (Maybe not on Christmas Day, mind you :D).

Happy Christmas to all, maybe a couple of Yorkshire puds will help me to see the light.

That's quite a bit of tinkering ;) I inadvertently bricked the game yesterday, fortunately managed to undo my error and I'll leave it at that haha.
Merry Christmas, I hope you enjoyed the yorkies :)

Well, bumping this thread up again as I'm still unable to reliably import TSW2 liveries to TSW6. I'd be interested to hear from anyone else using such liveries (generally older ones, but rarely available in TSW3 format).

Here's the current state of play:

    - v1.1.1 doesn't support TSW2 liveries at all. It sees the .tsw2liv files but won't import them. Why don't you use v.1.1.0, you ask?
    - well, v1.1.0 does see the TSW2 liveries and can import them, but it can't see about 60% of the TSW3 liveries.
    - not only can it not see most of the TSW3 liveries, but previously-imported liveries are also missing in the "imported" pane
    - this means the tool sees empty slots where there are in fact liveries (you can see them in v1.1.1).
    - if you import anything using v1.1.0, you're therefore going to overwrite a TSW3 livery that's visible in v1.1.1 (checked, confirmed).
    - v1.1.1 was actually released to address this issue of missing TSW3 liveries, in fact it's the only thing in the changelog.
    - there is nothing in the changelog about ending support for TSW2 liveries, so I'm presuming it's a bug rather than a voluntary change.

A couple of days ago I added a comment to the open issue for this problem on Github in the hope that RagingLightning would see it, but I now see he hasn't logged on to the TSW forum since the tail end of last year which is possibly not a good sign (we all have our lives that get in the way, let's not forget).

I've therefore spent my evening trying to find a workaround, with some (albeit limited) success using the following tricksy methods :

    - install v1.1.0 and 1.1.1 into separate directories
    - create a dummy TSW6 folder structure somewhere: MyFolder\Saved\SaveGames
    - paste your UGCLiveries_0.sav file into this dummy SaveGames folder (for my test I started afresh and created a new one)
    - point your v1.1.0 install to the dummy folder structure ("MyFolder" in this case)
    - import a TSW2 livery
    - save the changes (not sure this is necessary but it can't hurt)
    - export it again
    - this creates a .TSW3 file which you can then import cleanly to your "real" TSW6 install using v.1.1.1

However (and here's the kicker), it seems that importing more than one livery converted from a TSW2 file causes problems. The first one imports just fine, but if you import another then the first one either:

    - disappears from the list in the formation designer or spawn menu
    - stays in the list but appears without its livery, reverting to the original livery

Can any kind soul give this a try to see if they have the same behaviour? I want to exclude any issues with my own profile or game setup, although I did reproduce the same issue with a fresh profile (closed the game, moved my "Saved" folder elsewhere, created a new profile on launching the game and re-ran my livery tests starting from scratch).

Would REALLY love to get a bunch of TSW2 liveries into the game.

All four of these Virgin 47s, for example:

    Cheers,

    JB
