only one i can think of in TSC is the routes we have in the Southeastern network. There wasnt a cathcart route in TSC. Either way will watch the release of this with interest.
Just a thought but does the latest german route have the blurry textures etc that AABS had suffered on release ???? TBH i have not saw anyone mention any problems with that route
Surely if we are getting Tonbridge someone should enquire about a GBRF licence? Maybe Traindad could help grease the wheels... edited because some previous posts have been rightfully removed
Which is weird cos they seem to be very enthusiast-friendly, and it looks like they're chummy with AP
Ah, then I do apologise for this, I got It confused with another route hence why found it slightly annoying. I’m not exactly good with random England lines
Very much back on topic… Going to watch the second part of Medway Crompton today, from Maidstone West to Paddock Wood then the run round and return to East Peckham. Then reflect on sweeping round those curves in TSW when the route lands. This route has the potential to capture the beauty of Niddertalbahn and the zen of the Stafford to Crewe section of B2C.
This is a nice old vid I've been using for reference on my backdated medway valley line on tsc. For anyone that hasn't seen it.
I posted a link earlier in the thread, but here it is again https://www.locomaster.co.uk/medway_crompton.htm Or from Videoscene who I like to support https://www.videoscene.co.uk/medway-crompton
Vern if I'm reading this correctly ,It seems that you are for team Electrostar. But joking aside would love to see VEP/CEP in the future. I for one can't wait for what firefly has developed here
I hope we get a 33 rail tour for this one! Love that little green loco! Will also have to check out the videos later too!
One question I have for the developers... Will the 375/6 layer onto the existing SEHS, so it can be substituted on services on that route? Having the 375/9 as the only 375 for SEHS can be bit boring!
My first choice would always be be classic UK traction but there are times when we have to accept what we get. The grail for me remains the 4REP “tractor” units along with 4TC on the South Western side of the Southern. Biggest issue now would be getting sound references as many of these units went long before the advent of mass digital video recording with phone or camera.
Someone asked this on the TSC server. Fawx replied: "That's not up to us, but it might sub in if the OG TT is setup properly." Weren't the same motors used in the 442? Considering we have a 423 in preservation, could that be used to source the run sounds and the 442 used for the motors? All sounds could be sourced from AP potentially.
With exception of the Inter7City, Leven & borders(although the leven one may have replaced this) liveries
The motors came from the 432, they were the units the 442 effectively replaced. Although they might well have all been the same motors, I am unsure.
You know what Electrostars in TSW really need? A buffet car, complete with overpriced sandwiches and disappointing coffee
There's a really cool visual feature which has been included with this route, which the developers have added themselves - hopefully this will come to other future routes too. I won't spoil the surprise, however you'll probably spot it along the rural parts of the route...
It's going to be nice to have a GSMR to actually tinker with for once, I know it's surplus detail to some but, it really does just add the cherry on top imo. Very much looking forward to night drives too because I know this team knows how to properly illuminate scenery. A question I have regards the choice of route. I have no issues with it (and even if I did they would be irrelevant), I just wondered the reason(s) behind it? With the fact that a lot of people seemingly passionately hate the electrostar and certain regions of the UK are woefully underrepresented, how come you ended up choosing to develop a route in the South Eastern region? Anyway, hopefully the release isn't marred by the questionable stability of the main game for console users, I very much look forward to upcoming details.
Sounds interesting, maybe wildlife of some sort, birds etc? The circling/line of Crows in TSC whilst driving through the field areas was always a good immersion piece, surprised TSW route authors don't really do this more.
Can confirm there is a Class 33 Railtour, goes full length in both directions. That would be up to DTG to update the timetable, so not sure on that one.
Well that has certainly made my evening! Much appreciated! Can't wait for that one, to twist through a beautiful part of the Southern English countryside in that little diesel!
Looks great. Query for the development team as they are active...... Do DTG give you visibility on upcoming, yet to be announced loco DLC? Not searching for clues on what they may be, just interested to see if DTG give 3P developers an opportunity to develop the timetable with future rolling stock in mind?
I'd love the river to have ducks/geese or any kind of moving animals! Maybe moving tractors/farm vehicles in the fields?
A number of reasons amongst which are; a) It lets us play to our strengths and find our feet b) Plenty of resource and knowledge available to us c) Despite what some say it is popular d) It’s a good length, is picturesque and has a real sense of place. It’s very ‘cosy’ e) It has a number of unique features, architectural interest, varied terrain, varied environments f) It follows a river which is not something many routes do g) It has great potential for development (in terms of ancillary DLC) going forward. That’s not a commitment or spoiler btw, just a fact h) A wide variety of existing rolling stock There are more, but that’s off the top of the head
Ok so now I’m expecting moving farm machinery appropriate to the season, combine harvester in the autumn, plough in the spring, fertiliser in the summer. I’m not accepting anything other than a full farm sim/ train sim crossover!
I gotta say this route looks absolutely brilliant, well done to those involved with the route, I believe Jetwash and Fawxh? And those BTS ! I think this is probably a day 1 for me, which is surprising because one, I am not familiar at all with routes in the south as I’m in the NW (Lancashire!). 2, I’ve not been stuck in with the routes ever since TSW6 has come out and three, the trackside clutter, color, vegetation looks brilliant! This is how every route should look, vibrant! SHG pulled it off with MML which is one of my favorite routes now so it’s nice to see another colorful, vibrant route in the game. Definitely a day 1 for me! Bravo! Looking forward to see how this route progress and what else there is to know!
I never understood the front gangways trains of the UK. They are still making them, I mean like I thought it went out of fashion. I could not be THAT important to connect two trains by a gangway. Poor driver's, the 385 seems particularly bad!
2 words - operational flexibility. If you need to run two units together at short notice, if they're both gangwayed, you don't need to source a second train crew or lock one of the units out of use. Also i'm sure that "poor driver" will be thankful for the small target when kids are throwing stones at the train A train driver only really needs to see forward, unlike on the roads where you need 360 degree vision.
So I play with TrackIR. When you lean forward or side to side you can see more of what's ahead. Plus the seat is adjustable in the real cab (something I wish TSW had). I had the same thoughts as you until TSW got TrackIR support.
Why do you need to lock units out of use with other non-gangway units. Also the driver kind of should be able to have good vision left and right to view platforms and any obstructions or trespassers
Because there's no train crew to supervise passengers (pretty sure there is precedent for this recently). Removing the gangway wouldn't help that much, though.
