This is ridiculous: we cannot reach Heidelberg from Mannheim. You can see Mannheim from any high point in Heidelberg or north of the city in, say, the hillside at Dossenheim. This is too silly. Do they think the train did not reach Heidelberg in 1974 ? It is worse than how Liverpool and Manchester are isolated in UK. But just wait: i see the future as TSW7, Carlisle to Glasgow, but Aschaffenburg and Würzburg still in isolation from Frankfurt. And finally Stuttgart to Ulm ? Neu Ulm ? Who builds a Stuttgart station without Ulm ?
Heck, Mannheim exists because the Prince-elector got tired of Heidelberg and built himself a new capital next door.
