shouldn't there be a stuttgart-heilbronn patch today? it was mentioned in the roadmap livestream that it would be today along with a final update regarding upcoming content edit: forget about the patch
The message in the update post is mentioning this week. But I also thought it first said today, Monday.
I don't think we'll be getting an update for Stuttgart–Heilbronn today or tomorrow. And according to the latest post in the DLC announcements, the final reveal is scheduled for 6 p.m. today.
The patch will come in January now, which I think is a good idea - give it some extra time, and be sure not to introduce any issues before everybody goes away for their holidays.
But DTG announced the patch for today. And in my opinion, that's just another excuse. Because from now until early 2026, none of the DTG employees will be working or reviewing the patch in more detail. The best thing would have been to release it today so that we could give DTG feedback on what works and what doesn't, which they would then already know in the new year thanks to us.
Hi folks - I understand it's frustrating needing to wait longer for improvements for Stuttgart, but I assure you we had every intention to release today, and even had an opportunity to do so - we intentionally chose against this option. To share some insight, the team weren't confident the patch had been successfully uploaded to all the needed platforms, and so faced with a dilemma of choices: Rush certification on the needed platforms this afternoon, and likely push the update between 3-6pm. Given today is the last full day of many staff, this is a relatively high risk option, with no fallbacks over the holidays if we end up making the experience worst for any reason. Push the update live on PC, where we had a higher confidence, but leave console players without the patch. It's a "some not all" approach, I don't typically prefer these options, and it can cause a greater level of risk/confusion for our community if this we have other Stuttgart improvements coming in the new year. I'd argue there's a small level of risk, and given today is the last full day of many staff, not one I'd advise we take. Hold the patch. No risk of damaging the experience for players over the 3 weeks where we can't push any updates, but an understandable and reasonable level of frustration from players - This is the path we chose, and we knew it would suck for some to hear, but I'm the grand scheme it was a better option. It's worth noting that this update, whilst important, only contained a handful of improvements. It's not something I'd have recommended we seriously push for without urgent reason for doing so. I get it's annoying to wait longer, so all I can do is thank you for waiting - but we had every intention of pushing this out this morning, there's no benefit we gain from misleading when we'd want to release this patch, and even when it's not ideal, I hope our clear communication is appreciated nonetheless. Cheers!
All valid points and if this was my first rodeo, then I would probably buy it and say fair enough. Unfortunately this happens time, after time, after time, so I am far less inclined to give DTG the benefit of the doubt.
Yeah, the patch will likely now drop late, and break stuff, AND that stuff won't ever be repaired afterwards anyway...we know how it goes by now, it's been a few years.
Yes, I don't know what makes a difference, when there are holidays now. The last Riviera Line patch was more than month and it broke the class 220 interior lights and AWS sounds (both are serious problems for the gameplay) - it was never fixed. I'm really not happy that I paid extra money to have this train, which is very bad to play with now, it was great before that last patch.
