I prefer to run the UK routes and stock. That's fine....I can relate to the UK content as I have lasting memories of UK trains going back to my childhood way back to nineteen hundred and frozen stiff. In fact all of my TSW content and dlc are UK routes. The only non UK content are the American and German routes that came with my TSW 2020 edition. I felt that the US route was boring and the German train was just too much of a hassle to set up and run. Too modern for this crusty old Yorkshireman!
Anyone got any suggestions for non UK content that I may 'progress' to? I prefer yard shunting scenarios but don't mind the occasional passenger route (even a high speed one). Oh....and best wishes for 2026.

Clinchfield offers a fair few switching and loading operations, though is showing its age now and could be some of the scenarios are still a bit borked.

For Germany, look for routes that layer in the G6 and the latest BR294 that released with TSW6. RRO was the “home” Route for the G6 but again is rather old and at least one of the G6 Journey elements cannot be completed due to a core issue on the route which DTG have declined to address.

Mittenwald also includes a few shunting scenarios with the Krokodil and the route itself is a stunner.

I've got most of the DLC but like the OP I also tend to gravitate towards UK content. That said, I agree with Vern - I recent bought Mittenwald and have really enjoyed it so far. It's a gorgeous looking route and the Krokodil is cool to drive. I bought the TSW5 version so there's the added bonus of Achievements to unlock.

Really depends if you’re on series s or X, for me on the series X I’m yet to have any problems doing full runs

I think you might like the NL route. Zwolle - Groningen I think it is spelled (sorry if I made a mistake). The safety systems are a bit more difficult than the UK ones but not nearly as much as the german ones. You basically just need to brake when the alarm sounds until you are below the indicated speed limit.

The only catch is that it is mainly a passenger route, so it will not offer you much shunting. Also not sure if layers are required for it.

Honestly not too sure I just remember someone saying something about it.

pretty weird how it seems to be half and half for people on series X, like some can and some can’t

When I started playing it was all US because that's what I knew. Eventually I branched out and it was a great idea, although challenging at times. I strongly support trying new things in TSW.

My recommendation for German content was always Dresden-Riesa but now I suppose it is Dresden-Leipzig. This is because you get a lot of locos and different service types, plus multiple signal systems, without needing a lot of other layers, although I do recommend adding on the Vectron DLC if you can swing it. Later on you can add the 101 and 294 if desired and have a very full route.

For the US I like Boston-Providence for the same reasons, it's self-contained with a good mix of short and long services plus a good introduction to NORAC signals. If you like it there are several other passenger routes to try. For freight I agree Clinchfield is a good choice as an introduction. If you like it then moving on to Sand Patch or Cajon Pass would be your next step. But if Clinchfield isn't your thing, you probably wouldn't like those others either. Whatever you choose, good luck!
