So there is a scenario 'Day of the Dispatcher' on the Riviera line. Now i do wonder how this is IRL. Isn't it usually the guard of the train that gives the go signal? Is that a separate job in the UK? To dispatch the train, you have to blow a whistle, would it not be easier to use space bar instead of going to a location on the platform to a marker that you have to click?
Dispatch is by platform staff at manned stations in the UK, I believe. (I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong). Liam had to use scripting for the dispatching and a marker for the dispatch corridor, hence why you dispatch on mouse click, I believe, but he can correct me on that if I am again wrong
Thanks will try that (on PC). Why the key to sound the whistle is Ctrl 1 is beyond me. How would anyone figure that out given there is a horn/whistle key shortcut!
Agreed. But those keys don't do anything in this situation. Just about to try the Ctrl 1 option..... Ok. I got it to work. That is a bit tenuous. You need to stand in a specific place to click the train. If you try to do everything with as few asists as possible, you;d never know. So train is now dispatched.... lets see if I can complete the scenario! To be fair, I like the idea of the scenarios giving you something different to do - in this case dispatching. Maybe just needs some clarity of how to do it and maybe a bit of refinement - for example it says wait for service 1V54 -but you can't really tell which service it is or on what platform. The scenaries, to me, often just feel like they could be a bit more inventve/different to distinguish them from a basic timetable run. I think it is not a concidence that one of the biggest threads here "Awesome TSW Service Mode Runs" is about finding services which have lots of yellow/red ascpects often by waiting odd times to disrupt the normal game flow
Calm down it’s a scenario and a new one at that. They tried to give us something different and in my opinion it worked. I worked the keyboard commends out as did everyone else it seems. Perhaps the issue is you not actually reading the instructions giving to us that enabled the rest of us to carry out the scenario fully.
if the core gane was working correctly and if the new features introduced in TSW6 weren’t bugged to hell then I’d agree with you. But the truth is the core is a mess and the new features are so badly implemented and buggy they detract from the experience. DTG need to focus on the core mechanics not go off at tangents and introduce yet more buggy gameplay elements
