Route Length: ~68 miles (109 km) Rolling Stock: New: BR 220 Layered: BR 218, BR 365, coaches Gameplay: InterCity, regional, freight, shunting at Neumünster and Kiel Scenery: Marshlands, semaphore signals, old Hamburg-Altona, port of Kiel Licenses: DB Time Period: 1972 Similar Add-ons: Niddertalbahn (historical German unelectrified route) Hamburg - Lubeck (route including Hamburg) Why this route: This route would revisit Hamburg and introduce Kiel to the game, in an interesting era when the Hamburg-Altona-Kiel line was unelectrified, and would be a nice change from most German routes just including ICE's and Dostos. The final scheduled steam-hauled passenger service to Hamburg-Altona took place at the end of September 1972, so setting the route in 1972 would allow a BR 012 (if one ever comes to TSW) to appear as AI. The services would include InterCity trains pulled by the BR 220 and BR 218, with m-Wagen and n-Wagen coaches in a variety of liveries. The BR 365 could layer on for shunting operations in Neumünster, Hamburg-Altona and the port of Kiel.
