Wow, Thank God I Have No Plans Whatsoever To Buy This Loco...... (No offence to anybody who disagrees or thinks that I Presented this in a wrong way)
I do not understand how a patch aimed at improving a loco messes up one another, just recently the Class 350 had a patch on fixing the exterior hazard lights bug with the breaks being messed up again, even worse than the previous patch.
Software does that. Although there's a certain extent to how far you let it slide before it becomes more than that.
Had a go with a run on the 380, it seems the patch didn't work. The breaks are still too over powered as previously. Unless I've missed something?
Oh dear… I was thinking of trying that later, to get one of the Mastery scenarios done but not touching it if the brakes are still borked.
Decided to take the 380 for a spin after the latest patch on an ECS run from Shields Depot to Glasgow Central, only to be met with an oncoming AI 380 with the doors still open on my way to Central Station. Service was 5M74 (part 2), I done part one from the depot to the Shields reverse point and continued right into part 2. Platform is PC, Steam.
Just out of curiosity I started a scenario with the 380 last night, the rather silly one where you have to keep the brakes warm in the snow. Yep, sure as eggs is eggs, applied about 8% brake on the PBC and the thing pretty much stood on its nose. So either the fixes weren’t pushed with the last patch or the changes were so minuscule as to make no difference.
The next stop on TMS seems to be the next next stop. 1259 EDB to GLQ showed Falkirk High on departure from EDB, but it should he Haymarket
(PC/Steam) Quite enjoying the Class 380, apart from the insanely powerful brakes. Hope there'll be a fix on the way to rectify that. Apart from the brake issue, while driving from Newton to Glasgow (2nd run on 'Bustling Branches' chapter in the Class 380 (2024 time table) Journey Mode (Service 2M71)) I noticed an AI service 2N02 being stuck as 'Off Path' at Pollokshields East platform 2, causing several other AI services to get stuck at red signals behind it. Fortunately, the jam didn't affect the service I was driving. After finishing my run, I went ahead and removed the stuck train and everything seemed to move smoothly after that again. It'd be great if DTG could implement a logic in the game which would automatically recognize such stuck services and remove them to keep the AI traffic (and possibly player) moving.
(Xbox Series S) Was doing a Glasgow to Edinburgh run with the 380 on Skyhook's 158 timetable for Edinburgh Glasgow and found a couple issues with the 380 after saving, shuttling off the console and then reloading the save; *The destination display went from saying "Edinburgh Waverly" to "Not In Service", although this fixed itself after departing Falkirk High. *I noticed after reloading the gangways were retracted (although I can't say for certain they were correct before)
Just fired up the 380 on Cathcart for a quick electric bus stop and see nothing has been done to tame the braking performance. For god’s sake DTG, this thing is in full service at 5%, anything more than that and the driver is going through the windscreen. Impossible to do a gentle stop or slight application to trim speed. Needs a serious nerf and desensitising.
Once again looks like a forgotten loco and likely wont receive a second glance because "all hands on deck!" for TSW6.
I can add to this thread; this EMU does not like the Rail Driver. I did the calibration twice and could not get the throttle/brake handle to respond in fine enough increments to be useable. I do have one positive thing to say about the 380, the doors do actually respond to platform length and not open the doors of cars off the platform.
I just fired this up on Glasgow to Edinburgh and God the brakes so fierce you almost go through the window the make the 350 look calm lol.
It ruins what is otherwise quite a nice train, particularly the sound set - as I said far better than the dire 385. Sorry but I do feel a ping to the CM’s coming on… DTG Alex DTG Jamie DTG Harry is there any chance this could be revisited as the braking is plain wrong.
Still no change to the braking which remains far too forceful. Attention DTG, is this ever going to be looked at or has the 380 joined the increasing pile of DLC dumped in the forever forgotten corner?
I noticed this as well. I was playing I think last week on CC with the 380 as it’s a nice train, thought I’d give it a go! god those brakes are really harsh. 3% brake feels like 50%.
I think DTG need to get some advice for AAS. Since the last patch for Birmingham to Crewe, the 350 physics are pretty spot on. If DTG could essentially 'copy and paste' the physics over to the 380, that would be superb. Is that to much to ask?
For all the work that DTG Liam put in, it just sucks that the 380, an otherwise lovely train, is letting Cathcart down atm with its ridiculous brakes. I know there’s an unending backlog of bugs, but prioritising this would really be a quick win to making this route platinum again.
Got this in the sale. Yes, the brakes are ridiculous!! You can drop 40mph in about 100yds if required.
At least there isn't a chance of me overshooting the platform. Only downside is it means I slow down too soon.
There is a scenario were you have to keep applying the brakes to keep the heat up. Quite difficult, as you basically stop when you touch them.
The 380 display screen also exhibits some odd behaviour. If you turn it off and then change to certain other camera views, when you switch back and turn it on again it appears dead. But it is not actually dead (you can click the brightness button and it will still pop up), it is just a display issue, as when you go back and forth between the different cameras again, it springs back to life.
candacedtg As you seem to be the only CM now collating faults could you possibly elevate the issues with the too strong brake performance on the 380 to the production side of things. It really needs sorting out as it ruins the experIence of driving what is actually one of the better UK EMU’s in the game.
It is a shame as having so many stations close together, means it's a challenge to keep time, well it would be if it didn't brake so fiercely. It would be nice if DTG would alter the physics to make the 380 realistic which is what I assume DTG would want to achieve!
I just pinned DTG this since I had personally had bugged the brakes a year ago. The ticket was marked fixed but I agree with the community about the brakes been too strong. I can't make any promises but just that I have pinned it internally. Hope ths information helps
Good news. DTG has reopened the Jira ticket. I can't make any promises and no time frame on this but at least we have it back open.
like with any ticket. if is opened then it can be assigned at a future day to a day to look at it. If a ticket is closed then is closed
exactly. all bugs need to be in the system .In this case it was marked as fixed and closed out a year ago. Now is back in the open status then It can be assigned to a dev in the future.
