PlayStation Can We Please Get The Fast Free-cam Back?

One thing of old TSW that was great was using Free-cam to watch the train speed by. Ever since Tsw3? We've been stuck with slow Free-cam that is USELESS for following a train or setting up shots.

This issue is on all consoles and I cannot believe in TSW6 its STILL an issue.

 

And while we are at it, could we get the game to recognise the 'front' of the train at all times, recalibrate when it changes and adjust external camera selection sequence accordingly?

Oh I miss this feature so much. I miss chasing after a train when it’s bombing along the line at 125mph.

Waiting for the PC players now to tell me “why not connect a keyboard to my console”.

 

I found it out the other day, the camera goes roughly 25mph.

 

The only thing it’s good for is west Somerset railway

 

That wouldn't change anything, it's the same LOVE with a keyboard.

 

Just spend a tenner on a mini keyboard for the ps5 controller. You’ll have access to fast cam, but also many of the shortcuts available on keyboard. Completely transforms the experience imo.

Funny because I just got the mini keyboard for Xbox and can concur that it is worth it. I find it especially useful for not just the fast cam, but for changing exterior camera views so I don't have to "scroll" through them. And the bell! I can finally exert full control over the bell! The only problem is that most, if not all mini keyboards lack a CTRL key, so it is lacking in some functionality. However, considering how inexpensive these things are I do strongly recommend them for all console players.

 

I'm on PC and the external camera is extremely slow, I can't follow the train as I could in TSC.
But maybe I'm not doing what I should, I just use 1, 2, 8 and 9 (to look at the map).

 

Have you tried holding SHIFT while moving the external cam?

 

I'm fairly sure but not certain, if that's the case, I do it automatically, otherwise... I'm dumb (this cannot be completely ruled out ).
But it can also be hardware related, as I use an Alienware keyboard from another PC on a Lenovo laptop, and that sometimes creates complications...

I don't know about light speed, the top speed of the camera seems to be just above 200km/h or 125mph, so on LGV Méditerranée you won't be able to keep up with the train to place yourself ahead of it and on GWE, WCML or any other line with high speeds it's a struggle to get ahead of the train. It's a bit of a pointless camera unless you're stopped or travelling at slow speeds.

It certainly would be appreciated if DTG could bring the starting point of the free cam forward or even allow you to pause the game and move the camera as you can on TSC

 

Yeah that was cool to watch the train pass by at speed (pressing 4 then 8), and convenient for some good screenshots.
