Why isn't the weather dynamic when you load the route, I mean I start the route and it's clear skies then after a few minutes it either turns to thick fog or rain/snow. The biggest problem I find with this, is in those first few minutes I get used to the nice weather, then it deteriorates and puts me off and I end up restarting with fixed weather! The dynamic weather should start dynamic. Like you load the route and it's already raining etc.
The player chooses the starting conditions and it doesn't have to be clear. The base game does not include a weather randomizer for starting a service in timetable mode. However, if you are interested in starting in bad weather, try journey mode. But from your post it sounds like you prefer driving in good weather. So perhaps dynamic weather is not your best choice.
I actually prefer bad weather. I know I can select the weather before starting a route but then it's not dynamic. Other games I play with dynamic weather, the game will generally start with one weather pattern or another, not always start sunny. I was wondering why tsw can't do this.
It's not dynamic afterwards when your initial choice is something personnalised (fine tuning). When you choose from the list (left or right arrows), then it will be.
I mean don't use the part on the bottom where you can adjust precisely the weather (how much clouds, how much wetness, etc), leave it as it is, just choose (above) the weather you want to start with, from the list (it's quite limited). I'm sorry, would have been much easier to explain in French, but I can assure you it works fine (I always use it, even if that implies heavy snow every time during winter). Tonight I can do a screenshot of how it should be set if you want to ?
Yes, with God mod you can decide which weather you want en route, anytime, manually. But if I understood correctly, ididntdoit lamented the fact that when he chose something other than "clear" at the beginning, it was no longer dynamic afterwards. ididntdoit just choose the weather you want to start with (for example "light rain"), then click on dynamic above.
vodka#2734 I didn't understand if you mean god mode stops me from chosing weather but I removed it and now I can select weather. Thanks. ---DMY--- all sorted now. Thanks.
For me it works fine. I don't want to bother installing mods, messing with files, dealing with bugs, etc. I'm fed up with those things, I had my share of it with The Wolves of Steel mod for Silent Hunter V and then in TSC, now I just want to play things straight out the box.
https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/app-tsw-route-annotations.93055/ Download the program, install it, and enter the command in the launch parameters. That's it. No bugs. The biggest inconvenience is that it needs to be launched along with the game. The gaming experience is simply incredibly cool because of how the weather works and how similar everything is to real life (after all, this is real data about what the weather was like).
Thanks, I may give it a try, as it's somehow annoying to always end up with snow storms when you select the current date to play.
I agree, I am the same way. While mods are very cool because they add to the realism and immersion, I find that I fiddle more with deciding what mods to enable/disable, what to tweak vs actually enjoying TSW for what it is. I have approximately 170 mods and if any one of them conflict with DTG's patches or mods conflicting with each other, it can lead to a buggy mess or fatal error or incompatibility. For now, I am operating the default vanilla TSW6. I do have TSW route/annotations overlay though with the HTTPAPI launch parameter so TSW gets it's weather data. Part of me does not view it as a mod but rather an overlay. The only thing I wish this overlay had the option of is manually checking for updates, as I find there are multiple updates within a 1 or 2 week period. I also like playing the vanilla version of TSW because you know for sure when DTG rolls out a patch or update, they are officially from the devs and your playing the game as the devs intended it to be.
@malikrthr When using the Tsw Route Annotations app, simply launch the programme and it will notify you if any updates are available. You can then download and install these updates.
Is just me or is foggy weather really on some routes. Like you just staring at a while screen cant really see anything and just hurts your eyes.
