I occasionally ponder why CC appears to be so uninspiring in terms of content. While we do have a variety of impressive liveries and scenarios developed by the community, there is a clear need for more. I find myself envious of PC players, as they have access to a vast array of content created by community members in the form of mods. One feature that I truly miss in CC is the ability to utilize custom timetables. I have encountered some exceptionally well-crafted timetables from the community that significantly enhance the replayability of certain routes. For instance, consider LCC, where the addition of class 700 services with a new timetable is simply splendid! The inclusion of custom timetables is urgently required in CC. It is essential that we do not restrict this feature solely to PC players in the near future. Console players are individuals too, and we deserve equal consideration.

Do not reply: Just buy a PC
(automated reply) You expect me to buy 95% of all content in TSW, again? Nooooo!

I do not think the console version could handle it to be honest.

They already suggest turning off all custom liveries to improve texture blurring.

    Buy a PC.

    ;)

No seriously it would be nice to share this sort of stuff onto cc, but I think the big hurdle will be wanting consoles to be able to create timetables, which would require developing in-game tools. Why bother when there's DLC to sell?

I've just thought - did creator's club actually leave beta?

Would definitely be a nice addition, but editing within the console is a pain to deal with, which is why pretty much all larger games don’t do it and it’s saved for a majority of the indie games.

Microsoft gets away with it for MSFS because they had to custom build an add-on to allow for WASM based mods to work from their marketplace. But there are limitations for most other game developers when it comes to allowing “editing” the games themselves since the new consoles aren’t designed for open development.

When were old consoles designed for open development? Like yeah, a few could be developed on easily like Atart, but it wasn't like it was "designed to be open". Their attempt lawsuits to stop Activision and the like from developing on their platforms shows it was supposed to be quite the opposite. Nintendo doubled down on that, and that's been pretty much the standard for at least the mainstream consoles since. Frankly that's always been the distinction between a console and a PC, former's usually locked down to just being a game machine, latter's multi-purpose.

There were a few options of “modded” PS2-PS3 and XBox-X360 options. But on the Gen 8 consoles and definitely the Gen 9 consoles, those options are completely out the window (minus cheating with a Zen, which is crazy that it hasn’t been cracked down on in competitive online games).

On older consoles, even without mods there was the ability to link to PCs or download music to the actual hard drive. Microsoft (and I believe Sony now) completely got rid of that option and only support music and video through streaming apps. So the games that allowed custom music, like MLB The Show for example, no longer are able to use that option because of decisions made by Microsoft/Sony to close the architecture even more than it was.

So yes it’s never really been open, but there were a ton of more options to leverage some unique capabilities of a console that have been taken away.

I've found it to be somewhat difficult to use at times. Subbed to a scenario the other day via the console interface, only to be unable to find the liveries, no matter what I searched, so I went and unsubbed from the scenario without even playing it.

Then there's times where the creator doesn't even put what liveries are featured. Really when subbing to a scenario it should also sub to the liveries and formations used at the same time. This would be a massive ease of use boost.

Then another time recently I subbed to a bunch of scenarios by the webpage version, only to find I lacked content to play one of them. Sure lacking content is my problem, but then it really should probably say what is needed. The one in game at least shows you stuff you're missing, which of course the webpage can't do, but showing what was used to make said scenario instead would be a way round this.

Then when you actually sub to content, to actually use it you still need to be connected to dovetail live. In forza, if I download a livery to my car, then for whatever reason my game can't connect to the servers, the liveries I put on my cars still show up.

Also the Scunthorpe problem where you can't put "Class" in the description or title because it contains a rude word in it. It's 2026...

Everything about Creators Club is very very poor.
Even typing into the description box is nigh on impossible and, as for providing links to liveries etc, you are having a laugh.
It is criminal that DTG created this monster and then left it to rot. :(
