Built from 1959 to 1961, the Class 303s were a fleet of 91 3car units built for use on the Cathcart and North Clyde lines and were known as 'Blue Trains'. The units were refurbished in 1984, with 12 of the unrefurbished units making their way south to Manchester to work services to Hazel Grove, Altrincham, Alderley Edge, Crewe and Glossop. What's included with this DLC? Class 101 & 303 in Strathclyde Transport livery The Class 101 and 303 would feature on a 1985 timetable for the Cathcart Circle line, with the 303 running all the EMU local services on this route whilst the 101 would provide some AI traffic at Glasgow Central. A full list of layers for this timetable is included later on. Class 303 in GMPTE (ex Strathclyde) livery The livery that the Manchester 303s wore was a slightly modified version of the Strathclyde livery, with the window surrounds being yellow instead of black as well as the SPT branding being swapped for GMPTE. This variant of the unit would include a 1990 timetable for the Glossop line, with a vast list of stock layering into the timetable. Timetable layers Cathcart Circle 1985: Class 86/87 (P2C) for WCML & CrossCountry electric services, Class 47 on CrossCountry diesel services Glossop Line 1990: Class 37 (WCL) for Manchester - Cardiff services, Class 47 (P2C) on CrossCountry diesel + Intermodal + Ashburys stone services, Class 86 for CrossCountry electric services, Class 87 (P2C) for WCML services, Class 101 (P2C) for Rose Hill Marple services, Class 142 (BPB) for AI DMU local services, Class 150 (WCL) for AI DMU local services
Been hoping for a long time Just Trains would make a retro Glasgow Central route. They ruled out Carlisle to Glasgow, but I'd happily take a suburban route out of Central. My favourite EMUs of all time. So glad I can still drive them in Open Rails.
