Hi all, I recently downloaded the new SVR rout from steam sounds supreme and have been met with a few issues. Firstly Falling sands Viaduct is completely missing, as is the road bridge next to it, as well as Bewdley tunnel along with a few other structures. I am 99% sure that I have all the requirements so I can't understand why there would be anything missing. Another thing is that there seems to be milk? bottles dotted around everywhere on the route. Also there seems to be Lamp tops floating in the sky. I cannot fathom why either of these things would be happening. I have attached some screenshots that showcase the issues. Any help greatly appreciated.
Just having a look now - the "Lamp tops floating in the sky" provide ambient lighting. Just completed a quick fly through of the whole route and everything seems to be there and correct. Maybe double check the requirements and if ok, reload the route. It is possible with some of the assets that you may have the detail setting in sim too low to render certain objects...See under Settings, top left of the opening screen, then first page of the Advanced option. I have seen no milk bottles. Requirements as follows per manual; Payware: Birmingham Cross City – Steam Riviera in the Fifties – Steam North Somerset Railway – Steam Portsmouth Direct – Steam Doncaster Works – Steam European Assets Pack (old default content) Falmouth Branch – Steam Stainmore, Shap and Eden Valley – SSS Just Trains Common Library – Various JT Routes Construction Pack – Steam Marketplace Platform Clutter Pack – Steam Marketplace Canal Pack – Steam Marketplace Riviera Line – Steam West Somerset Railway – Steam Isle of Wight – Steam Freeware; Caledonia Works Pre-WWII Assets Pack – GAD GAD Signal Equipment Pack – GAD RS Railworks Yard Clutter Packs 1 and 2 North Yorkshire Moors Railway – SSS UKTS Freeware Packs – Audio, Commercial, Railway Buildings, Housing, Industrial, Blocks, Lofts & Bridges, Clutter, Foliage & Lavender Line Spa Valley Railway – BLS East Somerset Railway – Internet Archive GWR Poster Pack – BLS VP Track, Roads and Grass Packs – Vulcan Productions Rod
I have no issues except for some missing Assets. The route is very well done and is comparable to some good payware routes, if not better. You also need all these coaches if you want to drive the included scenarios. AP Mark Ones BR LMS Portholes Set 1 and Set 2 LMS P3 Coaches Set 2, Set 3 & Set 4 Collett Coaches Set 1 and Set 2 Collett High Waist Coaches Set 1, Set 2 & Set 3 PLD Hawksworth Coaches MT Hawksworth Coaches Set 1 Gresley Teaks Set 1, Set 2, Set 3 & Set 5 GWR Toplights Set 2 GWR Toplights Panel Set 3
I have been trying to do a quick drive on the route but keep getting a failed to load scenario message. If i drive a light engine movement i can drive the route, i did notice falling sands missing but that could be down to me not owning the stainmore route
If the train you try to drive is bigger than the start location platform it might not load. Try one of the preload consists that are under (SV)
Has anyone else tried the scenarios that come with the 28xx for this route. There are 5 of them and all of them crash the moment I try to view the map. Not that they are particularly interesting. 4 of them are completely in the dark and the other leads me straight into a shed and can't be completed! But I'm still trying to find out the cause of the crash. The other scenarios that come with the route seem to work ok apart from a very bad looking sky, but I can fix that. I've mostly been running quick drives as I have quite a few of the requirements and although I've not yet met a single train coming the opposite way, I have been enjoying it a lot. To answer the original question. I have all the requirements and am not having any issues with things missing. I've noticed they are responding to missing asset questions fairly quickly on the announcement video comments on YouTube.
Thanks all for the responses, it seems I didn't have the correct Portsmouth line installed! Also, yes the lamps in the sky are for the lighting, silly me! I have now realised that the milk bottles are place holders for missing assets. I have seemed to get rid of the majority of them, however there are still a lot around the TMD/carriage shed. Does anyone know what requirement these assets are from? Thanks.
For the bad-looking sky, do you have the AP weather and clouds pack? Yes, I get the OOM when going into mapview, driving the 28xx. I left a message on their video on YouTube about this. I don't have 5 scenarios for the 28xx, just 2.
Thanks for confirming the 28XX issue. Yes I do have the AP weather and clouds. It seems not to be using it though. Not too difficult to fix.
Mine is now working i drove a cl42 from bridgnorth with 7 coaches, i must say the route looks great there are some talented people out there
Weirdly I don't have the old Portsmouth either (or Falmouth Branch or the marketplace bits on the requirements) but didn't get the same anomalies as you pictured in your OP. There are a few 'milk bottles' along the route but nothing deal-breaking (seems to be mostly a small amount of clutter i'm missing out on bar one brief stretch of floating track I spotted on a run yesterday). Bit of a pain this got widely released just after the sale finished. I think DT usually do the Festival of Rail thing Jan/Feb so will maybe pick up the other requirements then when they're discounted once more. Nothing i'm missing are routes I am particularly bothered about owning in their own right so I am happy to wait until they're discounted again rather than pay almost £25 out to get them now.
Ok so a small update. Now for whatever reason various signals and bridges are invisible even though I had the requirements and they were previously there. However when I click on them in the world editor they appear. It's as if they are present just not visible. I have no idea why this is now happening. Any help greatly appreciated.
This game has many issues. It doesn't show up in TS Tools, but it does in LocoSwap. It says you have missing Assets, but you don't when you load a scenario, and also in LocoSwap, like the Riviera in the 50s route, which I have. I know it is only a freeware route.
It does show up in TSTools - don't forget to run the "Index Route Properties" in the Rout Building Tools menu.
