Here below are tracks in my top three of my favorite

In Hardcore do we a dance what we called Hakkuh
    Quote HAKKUH IS THE SPORT

    Simple tutorial is
you step your feet in turns with your knees up without moving forward so no walking so easier stamping, you make fists with your arms forward and backward feints and shake your hips here in a thunderdome anthem you see an animation

    Have fun gabber

    Yeah man !!!
As for the "dance", here in France we use to say taper d'la patte dans l'pré... roughly translated as "stamping the paw in the meadow", refering to where rave parties take place.
In fact, it could be anywhere. By my experience, it mainly was in Paris "catacombs" (former underground quarries), and it was called free party.
That was long ago but...Hardcore will never die !!! :D

    I think you're beautiful as a gabber.
    It's your experience.
My father taught me about hardcore.
He taught me Hakkuh, the rhythm of kicks.
It's not just about the music.
You also build respect and friendships, and become stronger together. That's how my father experienced the '90s,
and that's how I'm experiencing it in the '20s, with family, friends, and colleagues.

It was great seeing the gabbers and gabbarinas there; some of them are friends of mine. See you in Antwerp on December 11 and 12, 2026.

This is in the cassette player at work. It's a shame the cassette player doesn't work anymore!

    PXL_20260116_121657892.jpg

I still have a few of the earlier proper hardcore tape packs somewhere.

Don't you still have somewhere what we called in good french a walkman (portable cassette player) ?
With a double-male Jack you can plug it to your PC and rip those old "songs" into mp3...

The last walkman I owned fell into the sea decades ago. I have a couple of tape decks I salvaged from the bbc many years ago. Although I would take a guess that the belts have also perished over the years.

    The cassette says 2001.
Is that also the release date?
My next question is, do you remember this tape?
Do you know which songs are on it? And which DJs?

Yes it was 2001 the happy hardcore scene was long gone by then I think. Dj mickey finn, the only song I can vaguely remember from that tape is champion sound. There's another 5 tapes somewhere with all the other DJ's from that night.

Even though my preference in this area leans more towards acidcore, I love this genre and the joyful feeling it gives me.
What immediatly comes to mind is the famous "I wanna be a hippy" from Technohead (1995), and even if purists of the underground scene will say it's commercial, it's still good stuff !

    Oh, definitely DJ Mickey Finn,
because I saw his name on the tape.
I was born sometime in 2001, too.
I'm going to listen to a few of his songs this coming week to see if I like them. Then I'll let you know...
but I'm glad you like hardcore too.

I haven't heard that one yet.
I assume it has multiple tracks.
I'll listen to it next week and let you know what I think.

The term hardcore evokes different things for everyone, and it's true that many musical styles can be defined that way.
So to add my two cents, please prepare your soul to have some alien acid unleashed here

One of the most famous tunes from Micky finn and Aphrodite was bad ass. He was more of a drum and bass dj.
From my hardcore days the DJ that stood out the most was dj dougal. I like all music, I think the happy hardcore appealed to me because of my love for the piano.

    The same here.
Even if it started with a specific genre, it's cool to have a topic about music.

Concerning hardcore, maybe I'm getting old, but I save it for later in the evening, I usually start with something softer, like classic rock'n'roll, rockabilly, 80's, or even pop, before moving on to tek/hardtek.
Drum and bass works really well too !

    I just listened to it.
It sounds a bit similar, but the difference is essentially the kicks we're on, Hakkuh, not in Mick Finn's tracks.

are there more DJ's what you like to call in this thread?
maybe i can listen it too

I don't think you can ever get too old for the music you like. For me hardcore has always been a late night thing, I guess because the raves I used to go too was always late evening. I don't really listen to music in the evening anymore, unless it's playing in the background of a game or I'm out. I listen all day at work and in the car.
I have a big playlist of all genres, to suit my mood I guess.

One of my fav d&b artists is edrush & optical. From my party days it was DJ's like grooverider, slipmat, dougal, sy, Paul elstak and many more that I can think of at the moment. There's a lot of new artists I like but there's so much I like I couldn't tell you who the artists are. For most of my life I've never really payed attention to the lyrics, I just like the music.

This is a old happy hardcore tune that made me go and get my first piano.

A lot of it was remixes of old songs that I also like.

    Nice,
    You like DJ Paul too.
He had also a important appearance in the movie NEW KIDS
    And the Hardcore party THUNDERDOME
What for me the most important thing is...
Is the music some tracks i can sing the lyrics out my head
What ends up with a like

I suppose we can say that !
Back when I used to hang out a lot in places where that kind of sound was very common, like the Paris catacombs in particular, we simply called it hardcore, or hardtek when it was a bit less intense.
Sometimes the mixes will lean more towards Acidcore, sometimes Trance, etc. :D
