GWR HST on a 2N28 20:30 Par to Newquay working passes St Blazey on 13th December 2025, the last day of GWR HST operations:
Some recent phots; one final Corrour wide shot, a selection of IC225 at Wolverhampton and Stafford while working the 0745 Birmingham-Glasgow Central, and a Class 170 Turbostar hurrying across the Lincolnshire countryside en-route to Nottingham and beyond.
A pair of encounters at level crossings; Hele & Bradninch (between Tiverton and Exeter)... ... and Rigton, between Weeton and Pannal.
This is a run from Holyhead to Crewe with 1K67, hauled by a Class 31/4 deputising for the regular 37/4. I've repurposed the excellent AP scenario included with their 37 packs including making the weather rather more 'wintry'.

That’s some very nice atmospheric lighting! I caught that train about 20 years ago when it ran through to Brig via the privately operated Lotschberg main line and then made use of a good connection into a Milan express.
For a couple of years between Leeds electrification in 1989 and squadron introduction of IC225 sets in 1991, it was possible to see Intercity 125 sets running between London and West Yorkshire with the country-end power car replaced by a Class 91 electric loco. One of these hybrid sets also served Bradford Forster Square in the evening, the Class 91 being dragged from Leeds by the HST power car working alone. The evening 'Yorkshire Pullman' to Bradford FS departs Leeds, being dragged by 43068 between Holbeck and Armley junctions. (One must imagine that the overhead wires are not there!) About 23 minutes later the set draws up to the buffers at Bradford, at exactly 1945hrs. A few hundred yards away, the hired-in Class 31 diesel awaits the road to enter Platform 1 and couple up to the dead 91 ready for the ECS drag back to Neville Hill depot. (The hybrid sets could not be driven from the 91 in pan-down mode.) (Thanks again to the creators of this excellent Airedale & Wharfedale route, available through ATS.)
