Hello everyone, Matt and Harry from Dovetail Games and Dan and Kieran from All Aboard Studios will be livestreaming the Avanti West Coast Class 805 Preview on Wednesday 21st January at 7pm UTC. This is the official Q&A thread for the stream, if you have any questions for us, please ask them in here. To help us find questions, please keep comments in this thread to questions regarding this add-on specifically. Any further discussions can be had on the Coming Soon Article. See you there!
Any new features on the TMS and back wall panel? Will Train Wash button function and stop lighting up? Will TPWS panel lights illuminate? Do door release buttons illuminate?
On the new timetables have they implemented the 'feature' where you are forced to open and close the doors again if you close them before departure time? They claimed this was intentional and more realistic when I reported this as a bug, but I just find it annoying personally. I also don't think it's that realistic. Last time I was in the UK, there were signs in some stations stating that doors would close 30 seconds before departure time and I'm pretty sure the guard didn't open and close them again at departure time! One of those features best left to the player to decide in my opinion.
Have the bugs with the previous 80x trains been addressed in this version? E.g -VCB light being illuminated at the same time as the line volt light in electric mode
Looking at the pictures in the article, this issue has been resolved, although the Safety Systems and VCB light should illuminate light red instead of cream.
Has space been left in the new TTs for the upcoming Class 807 that will come with Trent Valley as well as the ATS Class 90? Will you be able to substitute the DTG Class 350 in WCML South with the AABS Class 350's from Birmingham to Crewe?
I am sure one DLC developer (not sure which one now) had said something along the lines of it being a "fudge" to get the starter signal to change state, in that it had to be some kind of "timetable event" to trigger it and that the cycling the doors was the easiest way - why just having the damn signal change based on a timer set from the trains arrival I don't know :/ You are correct though, very annoying and immersion breaking.
What month in the WTT is the 2025 timetable based on? Avanti made more significant changes with the December timetable which I think included finally rolling out the new MU speeds for the Evero fleet. I'm guessing it would have been too soon to use this timetable so I am guessing it is May 2025? I'm going to ask the obvious question about testing on consoles. Birmingham to Crewe still has some blurry texture issues. Will the slightly heavier timetable for Euston to Milton Keynes lead to blurring on that route? How is performance generally? On the subject of Birmingham to Crewe, are there more fixes and optimisations due soon from All Aboard for this route? We know the Class 807 and Class 350/4 are coming for WCML Trent Valley, so has room been left in these timetables for those trains to layer in if you buy Trent Valley in the future? Similarly with the Class 90, could this make an appearance or is it off limits due to the ATS relationship?
Great that we are getting Announcements on board the Class 805 (as I presumed we would as it is a new DLC), but when are we going to get station announcements for WCML South and for the Class 390?
"In addition, All Aboard Studios announced in our November Roadmap that a 2025-era timetable would also be added to WCML: Birmingham - Crewe." Just two seconds of reading the blog and you would’ve seen this right away
Not specific to this DLC but when are we going to get passengers at Euston? The preview screenshot shows Euston as a ghost town. Not very prototypical for a major city terminus!
I do have to ask what makes this so special as to justify the £15 price tag, for what essentially boils down to another variant of the Hitachi IET of which we already have two types in the game? What's the LAMPOIL here? Particularly for those of us indifferent to modern traction in general and the Knotweeds in particular. NB: Question is for the devs and DTG, please.
Forgive me if this has already been answered but my main question is will the 350 subclasses made by All Aboard be in their WCMLS timetable for the 805?
I was going to post the same question , it’s very immersion breaking! Another question will there be any scenery improvements or adjustments from the original WCMLS ?
Will the WCMl South AAB 2025 Timetable incorporate Skyhooks Cargo line range of DLC or will we have to use them seperately? Hentis
For me the biggest missing point in the blog yesterday was the layer list. What do you need to have the full time table so valid question indeed
When WCML Trent Valley comes out, will the 807 and 350/4 layer onto the timetables coming with the 805?
Are there any platform announcement updates planned for WCMLS as part of adapting the Class 805? & 2nd question I do apologise! Will there be another timetable to mix in with the upcoming class 807 on WCMLS or are there services planned?
What are the timetables running like on console? Are we running well? Where are we at considering the texture issues and performance aspect that have been cropping up?
So, more likes than any other question would indicate to me that this is something people wanted to know, so would have been nice to have it answered. To me this is a major part of the playability of the pack. Guess we'll find out on launch unless someone would be kind enough to answer before then?
After watching the stream the pendolino wins for me . Just looks so much better the 805 looks good but basic. And do I really wanna pay £15 for another 800 model when already have two. But well done looks good.
I noticed on the stream when he was showing the services on the WCML south Evero timetable the Pendolino had 40 services? This is less than the current timetable
Aren't there two different 390s? One has 11 carriages iirc and one less. There were many playable services, maybe even something like 700 so I can't believe only 40 of those are Pendolinos.
Will the same developers fix the broken Mastery tile at Wolverhampton where the Tram appears half impaled into the bufferstops? (expecting this post to be ignored)
