Dtg Train Simulator Corrupted Update For 2026.

I found it made very little difference in frame rates on my system. This should have been an option. I have been slowly manually editing files to allow for greater flair distance on all my locomotives. This surly was done to pacify people with marginal systems. It is my opinion that Focus has halted all work on TSC (could this be the complication) with the exception of adding and supporting 3rd party developer content. I have a lot of time and money invested over the years in TSC and will continue to play it. I am just getting tired of patching and fixing this game because of DTG's ineptness and refusal to correct issues in a timely manner that they have created. If I were a novice looking for a Railroad simulator, knowing what I know now, I would invest in something else.

 

Perhaps Focus are pulling the purse strings.

They've essentially mixed two manifests - lists of numbers - when releasing the new TSC core bundle.
All they have to do is push another one - the previous list with the new bundle.

I've purchased a game this sale. Day 3, the developer pushed an update, which made me lose some item. I reported it. I got feedback in 2 hours. I sent them a screenshot and my suspicion. In another 3 hours, the update was reverted and I received a thank you. Day 4, roughly 26 hours after my report, the issue was fixed. The fix involved hunting for files, updating code, rebuilding the app and publishing it.

Since it takes DTG 2 months it's pretty hard proof that they've no one left who can look into it. Whether it's competence or permission, is unknown, but even if management says to stay low, this is supposedly bad PR. Except, of course, people will say that JT content is bad, no one except those few aware will fault the devs.

Also, with this year's update, the game has been recompiled (upping the version to 79.0). So fixing stuff like headlight flares - setting a constant back from the equivalent of 100 to the equivalent of 1000 or whatever the earlier number was - was theoretically possible.

As it is, we're getting to the point that it would make sense to upload a working snapshot of TSC to a 3rd party site, still requiring the Steam license. Some of us can follow the solution involving scripting, but the majority can't. Worse yet, it's currently not about the core but a good bunch of DLC.

 

My point was to find out what is broken and did it affect everyone.

The update was released on at the end of October. DTG admitted that there were problems 2 weeks later, with an update on November 14th, with another update again on the 26th. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...assic-2025-status-update-14th-november.95292/
Spikee1975 posted on Steam about the issues on October 30th. So DTG have been aware of this issue since then. No excuse for this languishing this long. Another issue is that until the current content is updated, every time a file verify is done you will download the same corrupted files.

I doubt if this is connected to this problem. Your issue has been going on for years and it will not be fixed as well as broken scenarios, unrealistic timetables or AI collisions. Most people give up on scoring and just enjoy the ride. You can change the career routes to standard using TS-Tools or turn off scoring in settings.

 

Come on, admit you're not doing anything about it.

I demand compensation in form of hard currency. My loco backflipped into a 270 degree nosedive whilst departing Wait-A-Bit.

 

That was November 26th. Why is this so difficult? Can you not just roll back to the last version... then fix the latest one at your leisure so that we don't have to suffer? Then you can push it again once you've tested it.... properly.

 

Due to this I have not brought anything in the sale. Sorry, but confidence is slipping. My choice but I will not buy in case the DLC crashes. Hoping for an update to this issue.

And if you have a JT DLC direct form their website with one that contains the library then you shouldn't be affected by the steam issues (I have JT DLCs from steam and from them directly and neither are having issues)

 

The only think I really care about is the Just Trains common library. SO many things use it.

 

Thank you. I have seen the list and have Cornish Mainline, Southwesternexpressway all crashes. And the extention of the Wessex Line when you leave Salisbury after passing the junction I lose all signal but the AWS ramp is still active.

You seem to be the only one complaining.

 

This is what DTG is banking on that everyone has given up or forgot about it. I can see why, this is just more of the same that many have become used to from Dovetail Games. One would have to admit that after 3 months of no fix, by all normal standards is the height ludicrousness. Be thankful that none of your DLC is affected.

He is voicing the opinion of many of us, we are becoming sick and tired of this "Ignore them and they will go away" attitude..
Many other companies would have made the National Headlines and been chased by the likes of Watchdog if they treated their customers in this manner.
Just remember a lot of us have invested thousands of pounds into this hobby, and as such expect a hell of a lot better customer experience than we are currently receiving.

After 90 days, all this techno babble from DTG about, it's complicated, we are working on it, and we don't want to create more issues, does not instill much confidence. My question to DTG is why was it so easy to mess this up (being polite) in the first place? Were there not enough safeguards, management review, an are you sure you really want to do this nag on the monitor screen? I do hope they offer some plausible explanation how this happened rather than it's the intern's fault.

 

I simply think that they have no resources. Possibly there are things they didn't tell us. Maybe the deal is complicated. Maybe they sold certain rights but retain part of the revenue, and the new owner isn't fond of mistakes.

Quite clearly they did the update as a marketing move, to refresh things.

What's telling is how they don't even update screenshots in either game, and someone mentioned Matt has disappeared. Might be loss of motivation or anything else along the line.

The reason I care, we care and they should care is that both TS titles are beyond the casual game. Most games, even Skyrim is as-is, people pick it up, play a few hours (5, 40, 200), eventually move on. TS is a framework and as such it's very similar to Mac or Windows. It has to be protected and preserved. If the current owners can't do that, they have to hand it over. Of course we (players) have to accept whatever happens, talking ideals here.

99.9% of the revenue is content. That can remain payware. Maybe it shouldn't be so monolithic either, given the current issue. Maybe Steam could help.

I fully agree with your statement. This platform is dedicated to all things related to trains. Many users have spent hundreds, if not thousands, on DLC and actively use it to build their own routes, scenarios, and various other types of content.

It is frustrating that the platform is not properly maintained and is instead treated carelessly as a cash cow. A few years ago, it was rebranded as Train Simulator Classic and then effectively left alone. That decision was later reversed, and it now receives a new version number every year, frequently breaking existing content in the process, without adequately fixing the resulting issues or addressing customer concerns.

This approach is greedy and outrageous when you take a moment to reflect on it. One can only imagine how different the situation would be if the platform were taken over by the community or another party that genuinely maintained it—keeping it stable, well-supported, and free from being broken and exploited annually for the sake of marketing and profit.
