It's not quiet at all though.

    Actually annoyingly piercing!

Really? So what settings I need to look at then because I can't hear anything on my end. Like I mentioned it's not just this train is multiple including the GWR 800 which I tried earlier, the AWS is fine but the other warnings aren't.

hasn’t here been an issue with PS5 where it comes out of the controller and the monitor/TV?

Do you have all the sound effects turned up high?

I think you need to do a deep dive into your audio settings then, because this does appear to be a 'you' problem.

Sorry I can't offer any better advice.

OMFG, I would violently stab to death anyone who tried to put a SPEAKER inside my controller. That does NOT belong there.

Ummm, I believe I’ve read here that PS5 users were having a problem hearing safety system sounds due to their controller settings.

After some testing it turns out that a windows audio setting was cutting 80% volume for calls when I don't even use that feature but even still with that setting turned off I still had to put my headphone volume to near 100% to hear the alarms which in turn the volume being so loud to hear them was going to cause damage to my ear drums after prolonged use. I had to mute the game when in the vicinity of the voyager it was that loud same with the 170 and other diesels. DTG/Rivet need to balance the audio better in my opinion all UK vigilance and DSD alarms need to be the same volume as the AWS.

Is it me, or does the Voyager seem to lose speed quick?

I find I'm having to constantly keep the power at least in step 2 to maintain speed, and that's on a flat gradient.

Don’t knock the feature until you try it. I find it very immersive and adds an extra depth to my experience.
You hear AWS and other safety sounds on a train dashboard in the cab, sounds coming through a controller mimic that.

If you have the controller volume low you won’t hear much lol.
I have my volume about 50%, which feels just right, any louder and the AWS makes me jump.

I'd much rather have the directional audio coming from within my headset than from a muffled external source, thanks.

The PS5 Dual-Sense audio is not muffled. Not even close, it’s crisp!
Clearly you’ve never used a PS5 controller before lol.

My point is, my headset I use for gaming (and for editing work) is EXTREMELY good at isolating me from ANY external sound that isn't part of the surround sound provided by the cans. I don't use it any day I have a parcel delivery coming because it blocks out my fairly loud front doorbell. It takes something on the level of my smoke alarm to pierce it. There is no way in hell I'd hear sounds coming from anything else without turning said audio source high enough to make the neighbours complain.

Alas, every Sony controller I have ever tried had given me nasty bruises on the hypothenar of both my palms after about 30 minutes and I can't get over the analogue sticks not being offset, which is why I use an XBox adaptor for my PS2 retro gaming.

Well you shut my comment down there. Headsets will beat controller audio.
I use my turtle beach ones when it’s silly o’clock in the morning so I don’t wake up anyone, but the surround sound, subwoofer and controller audio is ramped up during sensible hours. Luckily I don’t live on top of people either, so it has its benefits. I also like to wallop my e-kit drum kit from time to time too. :)

Finally took the plunge on this and one observation is the Voyager PBC should be variable in both braking and power, not just in braking

So they patched the 220, but could not be bothered to sort the cab lighting out.

Oh well, no great surprise I guess.

Yeah, I was hoping this bug would get squashed. Disappointing.

Hey folks, I do have a ticket in for this, but I haven't seen any updates, so I may have submitted it after they started working on the current patch. I apologize if that is why. I'll try resubmitting it since the new patch is out.

(I just learned how the ticketing system works, so it's probably on me.)

This is not a comment on you, did you receive any training before being dropped into this role?

Are you supported emotionally while engaging with an increasingly hostile userbase? - Note for the userbase (me included) - not everyone, and not necessarily hostile, but being what seems to be the only accessible face of DTG at a time when the game seems to be going in the direction of money > quality (even more extremely than before) has got to be pretty draining.

Oh! No worries! We weren't sure if I'd have time for ticketing, so they just trained me, and my first few tickets were...questionably labeled at best. I may have sent them to the wrong teams.

I am fully supported by the team. I am more visible simply because I have no specific game or events to be focused on, and my role is more flexible to help with the game (and other DTG projects) needs. I've been busier as my assigned tasks have increased, so I've been less visible in the past month. We have weekly meetings, and they've seen my cats fight each other in the background on our calls; it's a very supportive team. I have said, "Hey, I need to take a day," and nobody questions or worries with it; it's instantly, "OH, okay, let us know when you're back in the office!" (Note: I work from home, so they don't mean the DTG office)

I was brought in for my experience as a CM and in community work, so I was trained on the "DTG Way" and I come from huge studios that DO NOT have great reputations, so for me, this isn't a fairly hard community to work with, and y'all are NOT bad at all, nor are any of you openly hostile. I also have had more communication with the DTG teams and 3rd parties than I have at other companies. I've been doing Social Media and Community work for a little over 12 years now.

To put it in perspective, I have had someone doxx me and a player show up in my front yard. I live in the southeastern US, so it did not go the way they expected it to, and I'm safe. I generally also have to go by a male name and cannot show my face when I do CM work.

So when I say y'all aren't bad and I like the community, I mean it.

Yeah, I definitely couldn't get away with drums here, not with this many neighbours. My ex took up drums and made a point of only getting practice in when the neighbour in the other half of that semi-detached place was at work. I have upstairs, downstairs, and to the side.

Back on topic - I hadn't got round to trying the 220, too busy checking the Morristown fixes, but are people seriously telling me that they patched it but didn't fix the lighting?

    YIKES.

One wonders how they expected that to go down in what I can only presume was likely a stand your ground/castle doctrine state.
