    Hi everyone :)

    Sorry for the dramatic and perhaps somewhat misleading title. As readers of the steam challenge thread might have picked up on, I do sometimes like a bit of drama in my posts. ;)

    As to what my title actually refers to: I’m happy to share that I’m now finally a fully trained train driver in Germany! Some (like AmityBlight) have noticed my absence from the forums in the last months and this career switch was the reason for it. It was a hard and stressful time, but now I’ve finished.

    So, I’ve switched from a controller (for TSW) to a (real) driver’s desk :D, which is not to say that I’m done with TSW, but that was the most creative title I could think of. :)

    I do want to thank DTG as I doubt I’d have made this switch without TSW and all the members of this community that I’ve grown quite attached to :)

    If you read this far, thanks for your time,
    Lamplight

    Hey, congratulations :D
    Nice to see that TSW helped bringing you onto your current path.
    I was actually thinking somewhat the same a while ago, about switching jobs towards becoming a train driver, which has been my dream since I was little. Ultimately decided against it because I still feel too well-kept and appreciated in my old job.
    All the power to you Lamplight :cool:

    Alas, the reasons for my beloved disabled railcard mean I shan't ever get to experience driving the real thing, safer for everyone that way. Congratulations and respect to you for making it through your training though! Always nice to see someone get the job they want. Doubly so when it's a passion like this.

    @Lamplight
    Congratulations on completing your train driver training.
    I know from personal experience that it takes a lot of time and hard work to achieve this goal.

    I hope you enjoy driving real trains now.
