Route Length: ~127 km (79 miles)

    Rolling Stock:
    New
    - BR 646 (Stadler GTW 2/6)

    Reused
    - DB BR 112 / 143 + Dostos

    Layers
    - Various trains at Berlin

Gameplay: Mix of electric and diesel, dual and single track, cross-border operations

Scenery: Urban areas of Berlin, fields, forests of Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve, Oder River bridge crossing at the border, Poland

    Licenses: DB

    Time Period: 2021

    Similar Add-ons:
Maintalbahn (single-track diesel branch, similar to the RB66 section)
Bremen–Oldenburg (electrified dual track route with flat Northern German terrain, similar to the RE3 section)

    Why this route:
This route would include several unique points - it would introduce the German capital of Berlin to TSW for the first time, offers cross-border operations, and has a mixture of electric and diesel gameplay. It features high-speed electric commuter traffic in the Berlin suburbs transitioning into a scenic, single-track diesel run through the Uckermark to the Polish border.

The first section from Berlin Gesundbrunnen to Angermünde is an electrified double track section featuring RE3. This would reuse locos such as the BR 112/143 and Dostos.
The second section from Angermünde to Szczecin Główny is an unelectrified single track section featuring RB66. This would use the new train, the BR 646.

The most difficult part of the route would likely be the Berlin section. While it doesn't include Berlin Hauptbahnhof, there is still a fair amount of urban scenery, which would be more difficult to make than the rest of the route.

There are several options for the era:
    • 2021 - this would be set just before electrification of the section to Szczecin Główny, to preserve the unique nature of the route. It would also be the easiest to get references for
    • DR era - this would be more interesting, but harder to get references for
    • X 2021 to 2026 - the Angermünde to Szczecin Główny section is closed for electrification works (with RB66 being replaced by a bus)
    • X After 2026 - route would feel more generic and less interesting, since it would just use the same trains as most other German routes

I'm not interested in a Polish route if it doesn't come with Polish trains.
