Today, I am suggesting the London Underground Circle Line for Train Sim World 6. This line runs from Edgware Road - Edware Road but with a spur down to Hammersmith. Currently in 2026, The line is operated solely by S Stock trains like S7 and S8. So the time period for this route would be set in 2013 where there were C Stocks and D Stock on the Circle, H&C and Disrict Lines and also the end of the transition period of the A Stock trains on the Metropolitan line. Stations: Hammersmith Goldhawk Road Shepherd's Bush Market Wood Lane Latimer Road Ladbroke Grove Westbourne Park Royal Oak Paddington (Hammersmith Branch) Baker Street Great Portland Street Euston Square Kings Cross St Pancras Farringdon Moorgate Liverpool Street Aldgate Tower Hill Monument Cannon Street Mansion House Blackfriars Temple Embankment Westminster St James's Park Victoria Sloane Square South Kensington Gloucester Road High Street Kensington Notting Hill Gate Bayswater Paddington (Main Loop) Edgware Road Map: AI Traffic: Class 700 at Farringdon Class 166 and 43 at London Paddington. Landmarks: The memorial of Grenfell Tower Westfield (Likely copyright) Why I think this route is a good route for Train Sim World 6? I think that this route is a good route because lots of people have been waiting for another London Underground route after the Bakerloo line in 2020 which is nearly 6 years ago at the time of writing and to create a sort of spin off from the World of Subways 3 game which is based on the Circle line when the C stock was still operating. And also the strech of line Between Paddington (Hammersmith Branch) and Farringdon is the oldest part of the London Underground and also in the entire world. If you have any questions, I will endeavour to answer those promptly.
This would seem to be the logical next LU line for TSW. I know DTG had issues making the Bakerloo Line that understandably put them off doing another mostly subterranean line (anywhere, let alone in London). But the "surface lines" should present fewer issues as they have long outdoor stretches and many of the sub-surface stations have daylight. Personally, I'd prefer the Metropolitan, District or Hammersmith & City but the Circle Line is iconic, shorter and has a less complex timetable than the Met & District. Putting it at a time of transition so we have a choice of new and old trains to drive always gets my vote. One complication is that the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines are basically one line and trains change route mid-run so might as well include the H&C and have the line out east from the Aldgate triangle to Barking sidings (between Barking and Upney) too.
Did Circle ever truly go ‘around and around’ until the end of shift / day before it was Edgware Road based? Imagine loading this up and all the timetabled services are 24hr long. Clockwise or Anti-clockwise sir?
