Now that we have had our first loco release of 2026. What route do we think be first in 2026 to release.
Time to take your bet... SteamDB Unknown App 3663890 9.63 GiB SteamDB Unknown App 3663950 17.08 GiB SteamDB Unknown App 3879950 414.66 MiB SteamDB Unknown App 4035830 10.22 GiB SteamDB Unknown App 4035840 267.04 MiB SteamDB Unknown App 4035860 93.20 MiB
In all honesty knowing dtg n everything announced before Christmas and form I wouldn't be surprised if something pushed out every week or 2 especially given September 99% likely tsw7 so rush to get all tsw6 content out
That’s how experimental builds appear on steam. The full size as the final release gets compressed into a smaller download
Whatever it is - Medway, Preston to Crewe or Trent Valley hopefully DTG will stagger the releases so we don't end up with a sudden glut of content. Will be buying all three anyway, regardless of what order they release in.
Hoping it’s GWE-R. I saw Candace’s reply to someone’s post in the relevant thread, stating it’s “coming very very very soon”
GWE remastered will be great. I am stoked with what has been shown to us in the time-lapse video. For GWE remaster, I look forward to all the layers and the introduction of AI trains sounding their horns. With NY to Stamford still being a ways out, hopefully we can get some progress screenshots in the next roadmap, but looking like that may not be ready for sometime
Preston Crewe was on the 0-3 month timescale at the time of the TSW6 announcement. Surely it can't be far off??
Outside the UK we don’t know when the German (steam) route will drip though I have a feeling it’s not at the head of the release queue. Ditto, Tadami, the Portuguese and Czech routes. Suspect we are looking at the summer and beyond for those. Wild card could be that NEC US route, Stamford is it (?) though after the slight disappointment of Morristown which I barely played, not even on my 50% sale discount list.
Crikey, if its been compressed already that would be big enough for DTG could build the entire Great Eastern mainline with all its branch lines or a full District Line DLC.
Not strictly routes though as per the title… More than likely Day One here for the 420, not sure about the 145 as I never got round to buying the previous Expert 101.
I'm still hoping for a surprise release of the Stourbridge Town branch together with one of these beauties
Fair enough. I forgot to read the title. The BR101 Expert is excellent even in non-expert mode. A big plus is that it offers a schedule extension or even a completely different schedule, like the Kassel Würzburg package. For me personally, BR 101 expert added a huge breath of fresh air to old routes that seemed hackneyed. Unusual passenger trains with car carriages are being added to the Kassel-Würzburg route. Tuning a locomotive is an art form in itself. Yesterday, I spent about 10 minutes just calculating the train's data for entering it into the computer. Was it boring? I enjoyed it.
Well we know there is an update in the roadmap for Preston - Crewe as of Alex's comment on my post so that would be my personal hope and guess! Although I'm enjoying getting through WCMLOS so I'm just playing the game anyway
Looking at those, I would expect Preston to Crewe to be the largest in file size given the route length and complexity, i.e. release no.2. Perhaps release no.1 would be GWE remaster given it's been ready for some time I understand? I could of course be completely mistaken, only time will tell.
Not sure on that. In terms of route length, wouldn’t MKC to Crewe (Trent Valley) be significantly longer ergo bigger file size?
I held off for ages on the expert 101. Even bought it and refunded at one point as didnt have the patience (lot going on). I picked it up in of the sales last year and once in hand with the manual its good for the challenging aspect of finding the faults and such. The one thing about it is that its a point loser as once your out the seat the delays kick in just like real life. Probs get the 145 but may be a sale purchase as I am a bit behind on DB content at the moment. Preston to Crewe is my next day one purchase I would think.
Personally, I'm not fussed as I rarely buy immediately any more. Loads released for TSW6 I'm happy to wait for sales/fixes before I acquire as my theory is why should I fork out full price for something that obviously is bugged/not finished?
Medway and Trent Valley aren't even in the 0-3 months yet. I believe Trent Valley went into Beta last week (going off the 805 stream) and knowing DTG QA that means 4-5 months still. I'm guessing at GWE:Remaster next, the HST pack not long after. Class 90 and JT route both in 0-3 months, maybe both in March. I think we will see a new release every 2-3 weeks.
Matt said back in December that the GWE Remaster was ready to go, and they had originally hoped to release just before Christmas, but it didn't get through certification on consoles in time, so would be after the seasonal break...... Here we are going into February and still no word on a release date, goes to show DTG don't have a clue what's going on.
Looking at SteamDB schedule, two planned releases are route "compatible": - SteamDB Unknown App 3663890 9.63 GiB (GWE Remastered?). - SteamDB Unknown App 3663950 17.08 GiB (Crewe-Preston?). PS. Czech route shouldn't be too far either!
the release is certainly very close, in the update on the 22nd they added "TS2Prototype-WindowsNoEditor-VSIM_CZContentPack-coredata.pak" to the paks folder
With it still being a while out, i wouldn’t mind if Dovetail tried another shot trying to get a CT rail license and extend the route to New Haven in time for a TSW 7 Base route launch. (Won’t happen, but would be nice)
https://x.com/trainsimworld/status/2017331068446089364?s=46&t=62BDdIihy5_TNJhY5S1YKQ well this basically confirms that GWE remaster is next
