Xbox Series X Out Of Memory Crashes On Xbox Series X, Class 805, Crewe And London Euston.

Hi all,

I've been experiencing "out of memory" crashes on my XBOX Series X in timetable mode with the Class 805 on the Birmingham to Crewe and London Euston to Milton Keynes routes, if the service starts or ends at Crewe or London Euston.

WCML: Birmingham to Crewe.
GJR: Modern Timetable.

1D80 0530 Birmingham New Street to Holyhead.
(Birmingham New Street to Crewe).
Initially out of memory at Crewe but worked eventually with all timetable layers disabled.

1R25 0703 Wrexham General to London Euston (Crewe to Stafford).
Always crashes at start (Crewe) with out of memory. All timetable layers disabled, graphical settings reduced e.g. HD.

I have random behaviors always disabled.
I have all timetable layers disabled.

I have tried reducing graphics settings as follows:
Switching display mode from 4K to HD.
volumetric fog, motion blur, lightning effects, and arching spark effects are all disabled.

I recently added a 2TB storage expansion card to the XBOX and I have noticed that most of the DLC is installed on the internal storage and some of the DLC is installed on the external storage.

I moved my entire TSW6 installation to the storage expansion card, as I have read somewhere that lack of internal storage can cause issues but unfortunately this has not resolved the issue.

As far as I know both the base game and all DLC's are fully up-to-date.

Version numbers:
Base Game = 1.1.1651.0
Class 805 = 1.1.1717.0
Birmingham to Crewe = 1.1.1701.0
London Euston to Milton Keynes = 1.1.896.0

Happening to me too. Can barely play anything since the 805 came along. Getting ridiculous now. I love TSW. But this addon is making me want to uninstall the game

 

I may be wrong but the crashing issues on other products (Mittenwaldbahn to name one) were related to an uncontrolled memory leak. As far as I know it's where the game forgets to hand back its unrequired memory (such as scenery that's now 2 miles back and out of sight). We had this sort of issue with the gen 8 consoles when TSW2 Rush Hour London to Brighton released years back.

Looking at what you say about 1R25, maybe the game has an error in the background which creates a massive surge in repeated traffic and Fatal Errors the game. Graphics and Memory aren't totally linked (please correct me if I'm wrong I'm not a huge expert) so if it's anything memory related then graphics being lowered won't help. But my thought is a background error if you have all the bits and bobs disabled.

 

Any news on a patch for the 805 for this problem of "memory leak" on Xbox, i still can't launch the first scenario without craching and most of the timetable is unplayable.

 

I'm playing on Xbox series X, everything is update, i tried to disable volumetric fog, motion blur and swith 4K to HD resolution but nothing change what happend below.

The only scenario that it's impossible to complet is : 9S44 - Bound for Edinburgh, it's crash when i launch it on the loading screen of the scenario with a message error of "out of memory".

For service mode :
-WCML South - (Evero 2025) - 1D84 - London Euston to Chester (all layer active 15/15) - crash on loading screen
-WCML South - (Evero 2025) - 1D84 - London Euston to Chester (all layer turn off) - no problem
-WCML South - (Evero 2025) - 1D84 - London Euston to Chester (most layer active 14/15 - Class 807 turn off) - no problem
-WCML Birmingham - Modern timetable - 1R14 0445 Holyhead to Euston (all layer active 24/24) - Crash on loading screen
-WCML Birmingham - Modern timetable - 1R14 0445 Holyhead to Euston (most layer active 20/24 - 807, 350/4, FCA, Freightliner containers turn off) - Crash on loading screen

The most annoying thing is the first scenario of the 805 which is impossible to launch and complete no matter what i do.

Birmingham to Crewe with the 805 timetable

I've had far to many crashes with the 805 the first depot run on the TT it crashed soon as I put the master key in, a Holyhead service I closed the doors to finish the TT and it crashed going into the scores, ECS move to Crewe I got very bad loss of textures around Stafford then crashed when you switched lines, another at the red signal in the tunnel at New Street waiting to get onto P4 below are the services which have crashed whilst driving the 805

5D80 0433 Oxley CMD to Birmingham:-
Crashed as soon as the master key was turned on

2nd attempt crashed at the red signal in the tunnel at New Street waiting for clearance onto P4

5K28 0639 Crewe CS to Crewe
Crashed after getting into Crewe the camera got stuck in a beam and the screen went crazy and crashed

5D20 0746 Oxley CMD to Chester Part 1
Got very bad texture loss just before Stafford crashed shortly after switching tracks past Stafford

1D83 0902 Euston to Holyhead
Crashed after closing doors at Crewe going into the scores
