    NEW RELEASE!
On Track Simulation's new Midland Main Line: Modern Passenger Operations Scenario Pack (2018-2019) for TSC is now available to buy directly from Just Trains. This is the second Scenario Pack from developer On Track Simulations, following the release of the Heavy Freight Scenario Pack (2018-2019) last year.
This Modern Passenger Operations Scenario Pack brings you 15 engaging scenarios for Just Trains’ popular Midland Main Line route series for TS Classic, providing an additional 15+ hours of drive time covering all corners of the route and giving you the chance to take control of a variety of locomotive classes on services from core Train Operating Companies.

This could cost you an arm and a leg if you don't have all the dependencies.

Just Trains - Midland Main Line: Modern Passenger Operations Scenario Pack (2018-2019)

    I calculate £823.37 of dependancies

Excluding TSC game itself, and the "dependancies" that require other "dependancies", and the £9.99 to buy the pack - above is calculated at todays "non sale" prices from Steam, JT, AP

I'm also guessing that the MML routes need to be the Just Trains version that can be merged (as opposed to the Steam purchased ones that cannot be merged!)

For 15 hours driving - thats £54.86 an hour!

That scares me as I have them all. However this has been built up since Railworks 3 and probably 80% was bought in a sale.

Looking forward to this pack. If it's half as good as the freight pack, then it's going to be fun.

    That is a stupid post.

How many people will buy the pack if they don't own the Route the Pack is for.
How many people won't have ANY of the DLC Listed if they have been playing the game for more than a few years

And how many players of TSC don't use TS Tools or LocoSwap to change what they don't have to what they do.

Surprised you did not mention another requirement - the European Loco and Asset Pack.

Every so often somebody on FB or another group will look at the cost of the Base Game, plus an expensive route, plus DLC to add to it and then say this game is stupidly expensive.

    This is the silly post!

My original post contains no expression or opinion about the costs.

Just a factual representation of some of the cost that are involved relating to this pack.

If you wish to jump to your own conclusions then fine, but do NOT miss represent the facts that I have posted, and opinions I have NOT expressed!

I think the post highlighted quite a valid point. TSC is very much for enthusiasts these days.

A lot of things being published have huge lists of requirements and yes, you can use locoswap but how many people want to play enough to want to swap stock around first.

Personally I quite enjoy the hunt for requirements and reskins hence why after 16 years of playing Railworks / TSC, it's rare for me to need much. But even myself had to make a reasonable investment to play Steam Sounds Supreme's (Excellent) new Severn Valley Route. There is very little that comes out that is completely self contained these days.

If you have the requirements though, packs like this are excellent and one of the benefits of TSC over TSW in my opinion. You can play good length routes with all the actual stock and all the realistic branding.

So what is the point of your post?
You say to play the scenarios "I calculate £823.37 of dependancies"
Did your Calculation include the MML and all its associated Extensions?

It is only a "factual representation" if you bought TSC without buying any third party add-ons.
Your "For 15 hours driving - thats £54.86 an hour!" is only applicable if you don't have anything else apart from the base game.

For your clarity and understanding, the point of my original post was in response to the OP post, saying that the dependancies could cost an arm and a leg.
I just wanted to put an approximate figure on that - Simples!

Where do you want to stop with working out the true cost?
Computer cost, hardware, peripherals. electricity usage, monitor, chair, coffee while driving.... etc etc

Yes my calucation included all the MML DLC, would be interested to see what figure you could come too?

And as I said that if somebody does not own the MML and its Extensions they would not buy the Scenario Pack !
People who own the full MML might buy this scenario pack but you cannot add-on something already purchased.

Bought the pack. Really like these comprehensive scenario packs for mml and some other routes. Hope there are more to come. Played one of them so far and enjoyed it.

And yet again we have another thread where 749006 has to be argumentative to someone and turn a thread into an argument. Almost like a daily occurrence now.

Dont see anything wrong with your post westcastlerail didnt see you say anything negative at all shame you got attacked for making a comment explaining things.

Funny trainsimuser, you are the one who argues with people.

My reply to westcastle rail was pointing out that people would not buy a scenario pack for a route without owning the route first
The "Cost" of running the scenarios also included the cost of buying the MML and all the Extensions for £69.99

I must admit, I was not aware that it was now possible to buy all the JT Midland Mainline DLC in one bundle at £69.00.
Buying separately the DLC, by my calculations comes in at £138.73 on the JT website at today's (non sale) prices.
So, the saving for buying all the JT MML DLC as a bundle works out £68.74

So in the interest of balance, I will deduct £68.74 from my original post total of £823.37, to a revised total for the DLC required for this scenerio pack of £754.63

Hope you are now happy 749006 with post? (and prehaps withdraw/rephrase the comment that it was a stupid post?)

Or alternatively, would you like to submit an alternative total price for the dependants for this pack, using your own calculations that will be helpful for anyone considering purchasing the scenario pack?

Wouldn’t waste your time he will always twist things to divert blame from himself I have noticed.
That is a bargain price for the full network I purchased mine individually as the packs released and honestly don’t grudge the price I paid to complete the network an amazing collection of route for TSC and some of the best routes JT created for TSC. iIRC they do a similar bundle for there western mainlines route as well where you can buy th entire collection of routes for a heavy discount.

    You still miss my point.
So a Simple Question - Would you purchase a Scenario Pack for a Route that you did not own?

    trainsimuser
The difference is you already own the Route so you don't need to purchase it.
And I suspect you already own a number of the required assets and that cuts down your requirements even more.

I just asked westcastlerail a simple question - I thought you were allowed to do that on a forum

So what are you blaming me for?

No need to reply to me as I have reported you already for this just leave the member alone. He is allowed to reply to trevkiwi original comment with FACTS without you jumping on his comment in an aggressive tone.
