Just arrived into this thread. Loving the new features for the 375. The scenery appears to be high quality too. Any idea for a release timeline?
Release timelines never appear due to obvious reasons and impatient users badgering developers all the time for release.
Because the overwhelming majority of traction on MVL is the /3. We added the /6 to give variety and other gameplay options, and to allow people to run the upgraded 375 on AC lines if they so wished. When a 4 car set does wander onto MVL it is almost always a /6, with the rest of the subclasses being much less common.
You know, especially for those who create online mods, you can quite easily make a /7 and I think a /8 using formation designer, once the route comes out, if you combine the carriages between the /3, /6 and /9, though if you wanted the correct seating layouts I'm fairly certain someone would need to create a mod for that
So excited for this route. I was stopped at the Aylesford level crossing this morning on my way to work and couldn’t help thinking I’ll be driving on this line soon
I've used the route often in real life and can reassure people that occasionally 375/6s venture onto the line! I think you'd all have a heart attack, because a 377/1 turned up yesterday on the route... Running in Southern livery with the SE logos slapped on the sides! I find it crazy people are nit picking about the 377/6... As has already been stated when a 4 car unit is allocated to the route it's usually a 377/6. The Devs didn't even have to include that in the route in the first place. It's one of those situations where I want to hit my head against a wall... The vocal minority nit picking stuff that's be studied by the Devs hence the inclusion, which the vast majority of players really do appreciate. I want to encourage sub class varieties being included, not curb them, as I'm sure most of you don't want to either! I think it's fine to discuss "why was XYZ sub class chosen" if there's a genuine curiosity, but beyond that it gets a little bit silly. I've been waiting for varieties of 1st Gen Electrostars to be in the game for a while, so really excited for the 375/6, 375/3, and the 377/3 for ECW. I'm biased, but very tasty rolling stock for me, probably on par with my Southern slammers in terms of being firm favourites of mine.
Now we are talking. What’s funny is when the 101 was released people complaint and said it was broken because they couldn’t drive the train or work out it had gears lol.
A Class 411 CEP EMU is battered old NSE livery would be like railway enthusiasts top shelf Razzle to me... Corrrr. Surely someone will have to create a Mk1 EMU at some point?!
The advantage of a 4 CEP over a CIG or VEP is that the traction motors were in the leading vehicles so no excuse not to have a bit of electro thrash audible in the cab.
Hoping this is going to be released soon, I feel from the screenshots released in December it may already be quite far in to development. It’d be amazing if we get a release date with the roadmap tomorrow
They don’t give release dates until the actual preview stream of the route etc. stops impatient people constantly asking when is it releasing
It looks pretty and I like the SEHS, but this does seem to be just a commuter line though with limited stock. Is it really just the 375 that runs it?
I think you can drive the 465 as a substitute as they used to run on the line but you won't see any as AI. 700s for test runs. Yeah basically only 375s IIRC.
That first look teaser looks absolutely incredible! A fine round of applause to JetWash and to everyone that's involved with this. This is EASILY going to be my favourite route to be on!
It’s been a while since I’ve fired up TSC, but my excitement for Medway Valley Line in TSW is tempting me. Can’t wait for this route. One of the best in TSC, the scenery is some places is absolutely stunning, much more than just a boring stop-start 375 commuter service drive. There should be some nice variety with the 395 too.
You've said a few times about it not being for you "it's just a stop start route..." And about "375 fans", and you're welcome to have that opinion. But if this route isn't for you, is there any point in keeping commenting in the first place? Or continuing to be negative? I respect the facts it's not for you, but do you need to keep putting the boot in so to speak? I get it, it's not for you. There comes a time when you've got to just keep things to yourself. Personally if somethings not for me, I'll just leave it. Look at German or US routes, I don't really have much to say on them because generally speaking they are not for me. I'm not saying people can't have negative feelings or dislike the route, that is their right. But when the comments are not constructive feedback to improve the actual route or trains themselves, I don't think they contribute anything worthwhile to the discussion. It's horses for courses really. I only have positive comments and feeling about this. This is very much up my street and probably the route I'm most excited about coming out in the next few months... The photos today were very photorealistic and have captured the area very well. Glad we got to see more the 375/3 & 375/6 in the images... Hopefully we'll get a taster for the updated sounds soon!
I'm not even an Electrostar fan particularly but I'm looking forward to this route very much. It's all about variety, routes like this compliment the high speed and suburban routes.
Exactly, that’s what the route is in reality. If stop-start short end to end routes with one main unit (375) aren’t your thing, then when it comes out, you know what to do (or not to do) I’m all for feedback and criticism when there are genuine issues, but this constant posturing and seemingly having to announce “they won’t be buying it” everytime is tiresome (oh and they always do buy it in the end)!
You can hear some of the new sounds in this video here: The flange squeal was so good I felt as if I was departing Charing Cross in the real thing I also noticed that the class 700 appears to have suspension which is a nice touch.
I love the flange squeal. It does sound so realistic. Anyone else in love with the new GSMR functionality?!
Just watched the first look video and the route is looking great, I live very local to the route and was able to instantly pick out the various locations featured. Also a nice nod with the hot air ballon, A somewhat common sight early in the morning during summer months.
There’s always something to see as the route clings to River Medway nearly all the way, particular highlights at East Farleigh and Wateringbury!
It is but I’m genuinely not sure what your point is. It’s a bit like complaining that an apple is not an orange.
It is, it doesn’t pretend to be anything else! There’s the odd 395 turn to Maidstone and freight but it’s nearly all 375’s apart from that, which is fine by me. I don’t think we can nitpick the production of a route, that depicts reality and isn’t advertising to be anything but. Edit: JetWash beat me to it!
I was quite impressed by the preview videos, and have definitely noticed the night lighting looks a little different but sharper than other TOD 4 routes. Great job so far team! For those arguing the route is a 'stop-start' route, in the sense that the main bulk of services call at all points, your not wrong, but what makes this different from other 'stop-start' networks in real life, like the London Overground is that you're able to reach a decent speed in between stations and maintain it for a good bit, unlike the former mentioned where some parts feel like snail-pace and the stations in these sections are so close in proximity you can probably see the next platform/
The night lighting is simply stunning. I'm not afraid to say it, but it's probably the best lighting I've ever seen, compared to other games.I hope this won't be limited to this one route, but will become a standard (may the authors who are currently working hard forgive me).
The video looks fantastic, this is going to be one of the best routes so far. I enjoyed the TSC version very much. Things are looking up for TSW at the moment with all the new content coming from both UK and abroad I have to say. If Firefly and DTG between them can sort out the blurry textures for console users it will make many people very happy I am sure.
I just want to throw in an additional thankyou to the whole firefly team for your work with DTG towards the texture blurring issues! Hearing Matt talk about it on stream how you've worked closely with DTG while developing the route was actually quite reassuring to hear and I hope it comes across with the release! Was also very encouraged by what Matt said RE performance too! Which is amazing to see considering how stunning this route is visually.
Hmm. I have only watched the teaser video so far, but I was a bit disappointed in the ambient lighting. I'll reserve final judgement until I've seen the preview stream.
I suspect that as usual the whole defence of stop start is being overblown on the back of a couple of comments. That aside, I’m surprised there is any outright rejection of the route, considering most UK content lately is centred around express running. Though I don’t really see an issue with people saying they don’t like that content, surely there’s a point in letting it be known that you’re not interested in X product because you don’t like X gameplay. Of course if one person is just constantly spamming the same complaint in the conversation then surely they can just be added to an ignore list, much like I’ve just done with users who display the same behaviour on the other end of the scale. Anyway, from what’s been shown so far this may be the one route I come to when I fancy some night time driving, I’ll have to see more since what’s been shown was clearly there to look it’s best (and it did), but I’d like to see what the actual expected light level will be. In terms of the daytime though, the route looks really great. The detail in not only scenery but infrastructure looks amazing, really loved the signage at Strood.
