Something that I've picked up on lately is that every single service I run, no matter what route I'm on, I'm always scored gold. I always manage to run bang on time, stop accuracy is as close as possible and I don't ever break speed limits. And I always run with full safety systems, but Platinum is omitted. Has anybody else suffered this lately?
No i only get gold or lower on small jobs. Like depot moves ect. Are actually being scored for using safety systems. And what route are you playing.
I'm currently on SEHS, done a run from Faversham to St Pancras, got gold. Then done a run down to Ebbsfleet & back, both runs gold. Yeah you get more score for using safety systems. But I'm only ever receiving gold.
Platinum medals are only available on routes with the new scoring systems (TSW 4 and later, plus some updated routes). On the old one you dont get bonuses for using safety systems and gold is the highest medal. SEHS still has the old one. Plus the new system is more geared towards distance driven instead of stops. So high speed runs and long freight runs are rewarderd better versus multi stop services.
On that route gold is the highest medal you get on sehs. Because its on the old scoring system where you dont get scored for using safety systems.
To add: if you want to score a lot of points in a short time (for whatever reason ) your best options are: - Bakerloo line: lots of stops (old system); - KWG with the expert 101 timetable (has the new system): lots of miles.
The whole system, both AP and medals needs overhauling and standardising. More along the lines of TSC, minus the OTT loss of points for minor late running etc.
