Unless someone is working on remastering them as a passion project in the background, I suspect that JT would likely be involved in a remaster of both routes. Given that their hands are full with Preston to Crewe and Cumbrian Coast, I think we might be waiting a while for remasters on these routes. As someone who lives on the Tees Valley line, I think that the route is too short and I would prefer an extended version. The route length limits it's potential as a UK freight network style route similar to Clinchfield Railroad. The line branching off from Marske just before Saltburn is a very scenic coastal freight only line to the Skinningrove steel works and Cleveland Pottash mine at Boulby. Additionally the Bishop Auckland line is needed to complete passenger services with the Weardale line up to Eastgate to have complete end to end services with the class 31 up to the cement works.

Edit: not to mention the pacer would be needed on a remastered Tees Valley line. 1989 was the last year that the class 101s were in service so it is unrealistic to only see class 101s on the line at this time. Either the 142 would need layered in from Blackpool Branches or a separate class 143 pacer loco add-on would need to be made in Provincial and Tyne and Wear PTE liveries.

So, Thomas getting his own game, GWE remaster tomorrow, East Coast Way remaster in a couple of weeks and they finally fixed the broken TSC update this week. Yeah, I´m happy for a change. Keep up the good work DTG.

All we need now is a fix to the blurry textures issue

If Rivet are in a remastering mood after ECW, giving their west Cornwall Local an upgrade would be welcomed, especially if they brought it up to a more modern era like the Riviera line, with twin track + Signals replacing Semaphores on the main line, including TT to match, especially with the HST Farewell pack inbound... maybe we can get the night riviera class 57 as the rolling stock as the selling point for the remaster? ....Might be a stretch to add the run to Plymouth but will take a modern remaster if it only goes to ST Austell

I Quite enjoy the Modded 2019 TT available with the GWR 802/HSTs and 150s + xc 220 despite the age of the scenery

This would be a real Phoenix from the ashes scenario!

I think the argument for ‘expansion’ would be either send it east on the mainline to Plymouth OR keep it ‘West Cornwall’ but include all the missing branches along the way..

I think the 27-29miles might be a stretch from St Austell to Plymouth for a remaster unfortunately.. but a v2 with this included, along with a TOD and scenery update to present day.. I would pay for that, especially since it adds the famous Royal Albert Bridge/River Tamar crossing and another link up.. what a great run Penzance to Exeter! Class 57 + mk3 coaches on the night riviera, HST, 802s, Voyagers.. sign me up!

I wouldn't object to it altered to being present day but if it got remastered I would rather it stayed as is.

It's currently the only 1990's route although the daft layers don't suggest that.

The BCC 170 pack has vastly improved the route, in my opinion. Having 170s and Voyagers (if you own that pack) running along the line really adds to the atmosphere, not to mention a busier New Street with AI traffic from other add-ons. Of course, it would be great if they added the 730 and, if we're talking extensions, also added the Camp Hill line (it reopens to commuter traffic in the spring), along with the 196 to operate it. It feels like you might be cutting your nose off to spite your face in this instance.

I concur. The 170 and the included timetable really ups the value of BCC. I would dare to say: even if you never touch the 170 itself, it might still be worth it.

I agree coming into New Street feels so much more immersive now, I was someone who wasn't too bothered before but I wouldn't go back to the old timetable.

Yeah not very keen on DC4260. TSS is good I just don't like some of his clickbaity thumbnails but otherwise he's great.

A remaster could change that to use the Inter-City red stripe liveries from the Just Trains products, utilising the 47 and MK2Fs. It might not be perfect but it would look far more appropriate for the time period.

he is more honest than the ambassadors that's for sure. Yes i agree his click bait thumbnails were annoying in the past but he has stopped that now since his "issue" with a certain ambassador and the videos thereafter soon stopped with the click bait. I find his videos actually really enjoyable to watch and honest highlighting good things and the not so good so you get a fine balance, Whats more strange is his videos generate more views than some of the ambassadors work that one out.

I think WCL is in a situation where it would benefit from a 2.0 release like LIRR - This way, Rivet can modernise the layout of the route, extend it to Plymouth and use the Riviera and GWE:R stock for layering. Bonus points if they went out of their way to include the Falmouth Branch as well!

The original plan for the route was to be in GWR, but due to the licensing issues at the time, they had to compromise and backdate the project. By doing a 2.0 version, they could make their route as it was originally envisioned plus a bit more!

That certain ambassador is my favourite content creator for TSW. He has great tutorials and isn't afraid to voice his criticism of TSW. He's pretty honest.

Yes I have seen a few of his videos. They normally pop up on my recommendations along with a few others. Twitch is good for watching live streams as well I find you can ask questions live and get answers quickly. No no I know you wasn’t criticising me sorry if it sounded like I thought you were

Fingers crossed as it just feels right this way ;) (2019 modded tt, though would like a v2 around 2025 before the castle sets where removed but probably best to mirror Riviera TT)

That would be a dream come true.
I’m hoping the next GWR project is either the section you mentioned or Reading to Exeter St David’s set in 2025.

I wish this would happen, I wouldn't even mind paying for another version provided it was actually good. We have almost all of the passenger stock minus GWR 158, and 800/221 if you want to count those as missing. I know not everyone would be as happy as me to pay up for the same route, or part of the same route, I am biased since its my area. However I still feel like this would be a win for a lot of us, if the route was to be good it would be great for Rivets reputation, and we would end up getting what this route should have been in the first place.
Not going to expect this work to be done for free as an update to the original, I just hope it can become a reality at some point.

    East Coastway

    Probabley more services playable,

Hampden Park - Eastbourne (Hastings - Brighton)

Eastbourne - Hampden Park (Brighton - Hastings)

    Subject to stopping patterns

    Already have Brighton - Eastbourne.

    Maybe to be phantic.

Agreed Wivelsfield to Lewes depending on distance for Victoria - Eastbourne services.

A lot of talk about other DLCs on this thread I see rather that East Coastway, but sure everybody does it eventually.

Why? The WCML is stacking up nicely, so logically with GWR it would make sense to carry on the existing London Paddington to Penzance section. :)

Reading to Exeter is a very long route. Going via Chippenham and Westbury would be insane.

Would be doable if broken up though.

    I could see:
Bristol Temple Meads to Exeter St David's
Reading to Bristol via Chippenham *
Reading to Taunton via Newbury (long but less dense past Newbury IIRC)

    * or Reading to Didcot Parkway and Oxford and Didcot Parkway to Bristol via Chippenham.

I'd personally rather see it set in 2018. You'd have electrification set up further along the GWML to satisfy those who enjoy modern traction with the 387 and 802 whilst allowing others to enjoy diesel action with the HST and 165/166. Provides the great variety we all enjoy on Liam's TT (even the 360s and 332s were still running in 2018) so everyone's taste is accounted for.

We want it all LOL...Cardiff central to Bristol Temple Meads, Bristol Parkway and Cheltenham spa via Gloucester (with the latter also running to Cheltenham spa via parkway) set in 2023 would be a good one, this way you have 150/153 tfw, xc 170s + 220, GWR 166 + 802 + HSTs which are already in the game so it'll just be a new scenery release (while the distances fall within their mile threshold)..Im not always someone who needs new rolling stock with every new scenery release as long as the current Rolling stock is utilized and fits the bill!

[Ignoring the massive scope of this route here] Unless there is some sort of modernised GWE this would be a bit weird, no?
You do a run from Paddington to Reading in a HST then have to switch to an IET on the run to Exeter - likewise with the 387.

I know it's not a million miles from the WCML having two desperate eras but there is a clear distinction between them - not a few years with one route set in the transition to the modern state.

If anything having their era’s routes set a few years apart is a lot less discerning, compared to WCML & WCMLOS which has totally different sets of era scenery.
Still, it’s not going to ruin the experience when I route hop, it just means I’m going to have to imagine Doc Brown, Marty and I have just used the Delorean to time travel.

I can't say it would be a problem for me. In my mind I keep every single route disconnected and a different experience otherwise Id probably just get mad over the differences in route quality etc...
Besides, Riviera is not set in the same era, so you would end up with the same problem on one end of the route no matter what.

Is the class 377/4 being changed to the Brighton Mainline one as the sounds are a bit off on the ECW route 377?

The AI whistle functionality will be awesome on this route, as it has way more whistleboards than GWE :)
