[PC/Steam, vanilla installation, no mods] A very dark section of concrete between platforms 9 and 10 at Paddington: The Class 52 from Diesel Legends pack still has the old messy wheel blur on the middle axles of both bogies:
1A40 04.22 Penzance to London Paddington sleeper service. Spawned me at two different locations, Acton and then Hayes & Harlington. Fast travelled to Reading, the train isn't at Reading. It doesn't spawn in. However spawning on foot at 04.20 at Reading does make the service appear. PS5.
The game doesn’t currently distinguish between first and standard class when it comes to tickets for guard mode. So I suppose this is more a core thing rather than route specific, but even then, it is how it was designed (rather than being a bug, it’s an omission)
The line speed for freight is 60 mph on the slow lines for the majority of the route so all freight should be limited to 60 mph there. You can see this on the speed boards.
Updated: Works OK if you change to Diesel mode before leaving the carriage sidings. Just hold Diesel to start the engines and then lower the pantograph. Managed a full run OK on Diesel engines today.
Yes, a really great update and I've not experienced blurry textures except on one service, the Royal Oak CS to Reading with the Class 802. On My Xbox Series S the 802 desk text becomes blurry and unreadable intermittently for most of the journey. Very strange since all the other services I've tried run absolutely fine?
Just been doing an hst service and had 3 separate crashes around the ealing area. this game is broken
Class 47 Night Sleeper service, I think Paddington - Penzance (23:55h?). Starts on the fast line (fine), then moves to the down slow (I mean sure?) and then just before another station, not far after Slough I think, route moves train over to UP Slow BUT there is a 166 stopped in the station on UP Slow so gives you no time to slow down and the train shouldn't be even on the UP Slow to begin with.
1A40 (again). After spawning on foot at Reading and taking it to Paddington. I'm rerouted via the down slow near Slough and then rerouted back onto the up slow at the next crossover. Near Old Oak Common it's suddenly routed onto the Old Oak Common reception lines at 25mph. No yellow signals warning of the coming change either, greens all the way until the signal before. PS5
The 166 do the 3 and 2 variants share the same timetable or do they have there own. And whats the difference between all of the 350s.
Anyone else getting random white power cars? I don't have any mods or liveries installed but one keeps popping up on every service I do, either the one I'm driving or as AI.
8 Car HST Service 1P41 the 12:24 out of Reading results in instant "Service Failure Signal Passed At Danger"
Happened again this time with a 350 Also why announce terminating trains at Paddington, the next train to arrive at platform 6 is the xx:xx service to London Paddington calling at London Paddington only
As on other routes, I have issues with certain driveable layers popping in and out of the service selection screen. Had the 484 disappear, it appeared again when deleting the class 37 and the mildmay line (as those two hardly add anything). PS5.
I'm on ps5 ,an excellent remaster,a massively improved timetable, runs very stable and seen myself no bugs so far, also no blurry textures either and I have nearly all layers installed and running
So, the two biggest problems I've encountered so far are timetable problems which really break the gameplay. First one was that at the junction complex between Langley and Slough, the switches are doing not what they should and so the routing gets broken, resulting the trains to piling up at red signals - this happened me on the 2016 and the 2017 timetable! And second, also gameplay breaking issue, that the Heathrow Connect services and also the 166 services starting at London Paddington (probably other services too, I just tested these 3 ways so far) all have no path outside the station, so you remain stuck before a red signal and with no route to drive:
I had to come back to the forum to offer my token of appreciation. Job well done. One of the best routes on tsw right now. Thanks.
Some of the HST services about 6 miles from London Paddington cause the game to crash randomly. Ryzen 9 5900x , 5060ti 16gb. Have removed the recommended mods to see if this helps. May need investigation.
If you spawn on foot at Reading and wait for 1P41, it is shown here as a 12:26 departure. I took it over from the AI driver and had no issues with a SPAD. Seems that something is "messed up" with the going in from the tt, since this shows it as a 12:24 departure.
Played this the other night on 1Z17 this is actually the class 802 service to London from reading and I couldn't get it to move after stopping at the red signal to let the interest do first then my turn
Might want to check that. The GWR sleeper has brake coaches, 17173-17175, the only 3 of their kind built. While the newer Caledonian sleeper has them, the seated coaches are fitted with the braking systems, while on the older sets, they used to use MK2 BSO coaches for seated passengers. As for the faked sleeper, it's BR-era Mk3s with a 47. It needs a brake coach.
Can you enlighten me as to which mod? I didn't think I had one on the class 166. EDIT: All mods disabled and the problem persists. Can confirm it is not because of a mod...
Some more constructive feedback from me playing the route more: On PS5 I finally encountered my first slight blurring issue, it was temperamental and occured just outside Paddington. Now interestingly, I've run route extensively with the HST and 166 and not encountered a single blurring issue... Today I have done the Class 802 test run into Paddington and I've encountered it occuring on and off near Paddington. So what that suggests to me is there is something about how the original stock was built that stops the blurring occuring. The HST and 166 are exempt from the blurring issue. But now I've used a very up-to-date piece of rolling stock and it occured. Quite an interesting result. What have I learnt? If I stick to driving the HST/166/Class 66 that the blurring does not occur at all. But when I introduce a modern upto date piece of rolling stock that blurring pops in and out. It seems it is something to do with how the older rolling stock is built that blurring doesn't occur. And even then the blurring only seems to occur if I was driving the 802, not if it is AI. But again as I mentioned, it was very temperamental blurring that popped in and out at certain locations on the 802 and was not consistent like the Xbox players are experiencing. Upon idling at Paddington for a few minutes it returned to normal with no further issues and was not consistently blurry. But if you are driving in the same locations the blurring was happening in the HST/166, it does not occur at all and they have no issues whatsoever. It doesn't effect me at all, as I will only be driving other rolling stock and the 802 isn't the 'main feature'. But it's an interesting result none the less. Outside of that the route is really well optimised on the PS5 and runs very smooth. The one exception has been what I've described above. But outside of the remaster runs like a absolute dream.
No idea. Just read in multiple places on here that this is caused by a mod. Maybe not specific to the 166.
Could be, if newer stuff has more textures on it than the older content. Also helps that the 802 won't appear as an AI layers often, as it is limited to one month (June I believe).
Yes but isn't it a stand in (as you say 'fake') and isn't the class 47 meant to represent the class 57 as of 2017 (as it is a refurbished 47), and therefore the modern Riviera Sleeper? Anyway, that was my reasoning behind it. Edit: and to add, I'm just glad the sleeper is represented in GWE and Riviera line. If only a facsimile
This doesn't surprise me. IIRC, when the blurring issue was introduced with WCMLS in TSW5, one of the initial memory-leak culprits was a digital display or PIS screen on the Class 350 that came with the route. My suspicion/theory is that bad pieces of code from that class 350 display screen are present in many subsequent trains that use these displays, including the Class 802 and they've been unable to root them all out even though the original leak on the WCMLS Class 350 was fixed. That could explain why it's taken so long to fix if they're literally going through the code line-by-line.
Yeah it's not a mod - I've disabled all and its still happening unfortunately. Otherwise its an excellent update - I love the attention to detail and none of this is to take away from the excellent work done. It'll just be a teething issue and I'm sure will be resolved soon!
You were saying there is no need for a brake coach in a modern loco-hauled train and I was simply pointing out that statement was wrong.
Platform announcements stop working after about 20 minutes. This has been especially noticed at Ealing Broadway for half an hour watching trains go by.
Heading West to towards Reading around 19 miles out there is the sound of the 350 traction motors running but there isn't any other train around! (I noticed this whilst doing service 0Z77 above).
I'm wondering how we're supposed to do the 802 service 5Z16 Royal Oak Carriage Siding to Reading because it won't let you use the diesel engine and the wires run out just after Hayes and Harlington where it STILL won't let you use the diesel engine.
If you haven't already, try starting the engines, and then lower the pantograph. I've found that the engines need power from the overheads to start.
PlayStation 5 Scenario Drag Line when you take over the class 66 at the beginning of the scenario I have come across a couple of problems. It asks you to put in the reverser handle when it’s already in, it asks you to change the headlights to day time when they are already on day running and won’t register that you’ve done it until you change them to night running. Then and this one is a big one, the brakes won’t release at all, I’ve even checked in the back cab and it still won’t release so you can’t continue the scenario. I’ve tried resetting the simulation control and it still won’t work and I’ve restarted a few times and it still does nothing.
Loving the remaster, I can report no blurring or stuttering on PC, not even on my first run on a fresh install (which was unexpected but I'm not complaining)! Did have an issue with service 4E03 Bristol Terminal to Felixstowe North, which I started on foot after completing a different service at Reading; the AWS sunflower never lit up. Safety systems were on and working - they were still making all the right sounds - just no sunflower. The vehicle was DBS 66 662 if that helps to identify which DLC it came from, cause I can't tell them apart. It has suspension and new rain effects, etc.
I also couldn't get it to run on diesel if I left it to Hayes & Harlington. If I hold the Diesel button at the start of the run in the carriage sidings I can hear the engines start. Then lower the pantograph and apply the power which worked for me.
