Ps5: I am missing about 300 playable services, for instance no 484, 350, etc visible. I own all DLC and all layers are on.
Seems this one is not so simple to adress. It's been discussed elsewhere on this forum. Lighting of a FPS map and ambient lighting in a large sim scene are two different things...
Then you have to explain why some routes going back all the way to SPG, BML and BPE, for instance, have decent ambient lighting while many others like Glossop and BCC do not. And although some of us have raised this issue on the forum, there has been little to zero input from the developers including DTG.
Yes, it's true that it's better for some routes than others. What I had in mind was that halo effect when approaching large urban areas, that light pollution characteristic of big cities that you can see from afar in the countryside as you get closer. I've read on this forum that it's perfectly feasible to reproduce this on small maps, like for FPS games, but that it's much more complex to do on a larger scale. In any case, I'm the first to be dissatisfied with the nights in TSW. With foggy weather it's quite ok. But in TS20xx/TSC I mostly played at night, and the lighting clearly suited me better then.
ok so if you spawn with 2x BR 52s lets say, you just set up your front loco and treat the rear one as another wagon, right? and what if you want to change ends? do you just shut down the front two engines and do sth with the brakes, and then walk to the other end and start up the other loco from cold pretty much? not that I will do this much but I am now super curious anyway, I have noticed at my trial ride with 52 that the scoring wasnt updated, as I see
I tried a class 31 on the diesels dlc and got an instant signal passed at danger. Can't remember the service. Probably an old bug. Just informing. edit - PS5
Really excellent route overall. One of the very best in TSW. just a couple more possible routing issues on PS5: HST services 1P90 and 3P08 (Part 1) both have you switching from the fast to relief line and back on a few occasions. Both are overnight services with little other traffic so hard to see a good reason. 3P08 (Part 2) has you stopping incorrectly part way down the platform rather than at the end.
On the "FGW" 166 the Brake Demand and Isolate/Fault lights are lit no matter what. The same with the dashboard speedo light. On the 165 they work fine
While I'm loving this remaster, the one biggest frustration are the AI 166/165s without their passenger saloon lights switched on - this totally ruins the immersion at night and needs to be sorted in the next update. Edit: Liam has confirmed in another thread he has a fix for this which is much appreciated.
Sorry to report another crash trying to run this route (PC/Steam). This time loading the Down Flying Scotsman run which I saved in the Slough area. Loading process got stuck, unable to Alt Tab to Steam or Edge. Required a hard reboot to kill the problem.
I can hit that but can't get the box to appear as the image of TSW loading blocks every other function from appearing, basically PC is video locked same as what happened when the 166 runs crashed.
Enjoying the remaster so far, only wish that the runs in journey mode could be updated to use the new 2017 timetable as the 2016 timetable really feels very quiet now in comparision without all the additional layers added in the update. I like playing journey mode first as I often get overwhelmed by the number of playable services in timetable mode
It's been so good! But when I drove 2P60 oxford to Paddington with the 166, after Taplow, I get a spad with no signals near me, might be an AI train that spad
Thank you! That worked! Now the missing trains showed up in timetable mode and I now having approx. 1700 services in the 2017 timetable.
I think the mask is on the wrong side, the one on the drivers side window should be on the non drivers side and vice versa or they are flipped, sometimes the wiperblades dont remove the snow it just seems to disappear from the wrong side the wiper blade is on. Its difficult to explain the video does it better than words can. Also when another train passes either away or towards the train you're driving the snow disappears from the windows INTERNAL VIEW: EXTERNAL VIEW: also https://ribeaniebaby.x02.me/i/6Y2QUD.png
Agree about Journey mode. However for me the biggest issue remains the lock ups or failure to load a saved game in the Maidenhead to Slough area. Frankly has put me off a bit unless you can do a run in one session, fine for a non stop service but a stopper or starting a run close to coming off brings the risk of a failed save/load.
System: Xbox Series X Train : Class 166 Mode : Conductor Mode Service: Any If I sit down in Conductor Mode and then switch between Camera positions, I get stuck inside the Train afterwards when I switch the Camera back to me.
A couple of issues I have found....... On service 3P55 you are instructed to leave Reading TCD but get a red signal at the entry to platform 15 at Reading which stays at red and you are not allowed to get permission to pass. Assuming there was a service in the platform I had a look on the "9" screen and found no service there and my own route signalled out of the platform at the East end so just appears to be the entry signal which is stuck at red and stopping you using this service. On the 0Z77 HST light power car move from OOC to LA the speed limit stays at whatever the line speed is when it should be either 60mph or 75mph the same as any other light loco move. Not sure if this would affect which line the service is routed on as the service routes you onto the fast lines and expects you to run at 125mph when in reality you would be running at 75mph max. I did the run using the correct top speed of 75mph and noticed I had an HST service running behind me on single yellows for most of the journey so assume in reality I should have either been kept on the slow lines or moved over to the slow lines at some point to let the HST behind me pass.
Think I reported a similar occurrence on the FS Steam Railtour, which I was unable to finish due to the save locking up. It was restricted to 60 MPH when Flying Dustbin is allowed 75 MPH and routed down the Main. Obviously I couldn’t check whether it gets taken off at Maidenhead East or Ruscombe but there is no way in reality this service would be pathed on the Main.
DTG Liam DTG Matt one issue I have noticed is their doesn't seem to be any FGW liveried trains on this route as AI. This is happening on the xbox series s. I can play the fgw and gwr but the route is just GWR. Everything else is fine, just the livery substitution. Could you have a look into it? Edit: This issue was fine at launch
This one has been reworked for the slow lines as I had it on the fast thinking there wasn't a speed cap for the solo power car moves. Same with this one. I moved it from the slow onto the fast so players can go 'full steam' speed...forgetting I left the wrong speed cap on. But now it's got the 75 mph back it will also be reworked.
Excellent. Just to be clear any feedback I’m offering is intended in a constructive not critical way, want this to be an epic route and go to play experience. Were there any thoughts on the lock up/loading issues or is that likely to be potato PC related? Only other time I have encountered the game hard video locking like that was when Blackpool first released, south of Preston but JT must have changed something (maybe a rogue asset) which fixed the fault.
Thanks for the update Liam it's good to know things are being taken on board..... Is there any info regarding the possible issue on 3P55?
All feedback has been appreciated and helps make the timetable better for all. Regarding the locking, I don't have any updates to that yet. I've seen something similar on Discord but that was due to a mod, if you have any installed?
OldVern Do you have the Spikey Cab Cam mod installed? (Not 100% sure of the exact name). That has been causing a few crash outs on GWE:R. Once I removed it all was fine for myself. (I'd forgotten it was even in there it's so old).
No the only mod I have installed is the Riviera lighting improvement. Not even God mode or the Environment mod. So my install is about as vanilla as it gets.
I don't think the Class 31 has suspension implemented? Is it supposed to or not. The Dovetail Direct article said all Diesel Legends of the Great Western should have suspension.
Floating cars outside Southall Station building which can be seen from the windows on the main bridge. Also passengers fall from multiple bridges such as Ealing Broadway Station.
I assume it meant 08, 52 and 101. Class 31 is just a layer from it's own separate add-on. Maybe if TVL ever gets remastered
AWS does not illuminate on the class 166 either. In addition the sky seems to light up a little when the headlights catch the overhead gantries.
I'm working my way through the many trains and, so far, the 802 GWR is not working with my Raildriver.
Well I have to walk that back a little, at least as far as GWE-R is concerned. Working my way through the timetable, so far I would rate the night lighting as " acceptable ". The caveat is that Paddington itself is well lit, but the area around the station is like Manchester and Birmingham, i.e. very dark.
