Where Is The February 2026 Roadmap Q&a Thread

OP - It's considered a bit impertinent to directly tag DTG personnel with non urgent matters.

The short answer is, no reason why there wouldn't be. Previous Roadmaps have had a Q&A preceding the stream. Whether any questions get answered of course is another matter.

 

I’m aware that pinging people directly is not the done thing Vern but normally a thread is up a few days before the stream. I directly tagged Alex because it seems - to me at least - that DTG are becoming more insular and less communicative on a weekly basis. Doesn’t bode well for the future honestly.

 

Well there wasn't a Q+A thread for the GWE remaster preview stream either... Instead the stream mods where just periodically posting a link in chat to go to to submit questions.

Of course they could have just realised that posting the roadmap Q+A thread before the actual roadmap itself is pretty dumb

Normally you will find them tomorrow before the roadmap article goes live, where many will ask questions either will be unnecessary if they ever bothered waiting for a few hours for the article itself, or about future unannounced content that will definitely never be answered.

Ah fair enough, apologies if I came across a bit harsh.

And I do agree about comms. Apart from Candace who is sub contracted in from an agency, there does indeed seem less and less of a presence here. Lends credence to earlier speculation that the forums are being run down in preference to more "cool" (in DTG's eyes, not mine!) social media such as Discord.

 

In recent times (i.e. since they were taken over by Focus Entertainment), DTG tend to answer questions that portray them in a good light and ignore any that are “awkward” in any way.

Will announcements on the Morristown line be revised so we can get "The next stop is" right after leaving a station instead of when approaching a station, and can the timings for "This station is" occur as the train approaches a station instead of when the doors open at a station?

Yeah that’s true. plenty of that attitude from other game developers also. Seems to be the normal now.

Discord introduces age verification worldwide
Starting next month, Discord will require a facial scan or ID for full access to all content on the platform.

The social media service Discord has announced that it will introduce age verification on its platform in March. According to a statement from the company, all new and existing user accounts worldwide will then be automatically set to ‘a youth-friendly experience with updated communication settings, restricted access to age-restricted areas and content filters’. To change certain settings or access sensitive content such as age-restricted channels, servers or commands, as well as selected message requests, users may need to go through an age verification process.

Several methods to choose from
Discord users can choose whether they want to use facial recognition for age estimation or provide ID as proof of identity. The company announced that more options would be added in the future. It will also implement an age estimation model that runs in the background and helps determine whether a user account belongs to an adult without users always having to prove their age. If further information is required to assign a user to an age group, users may be asked to use multiple age verification methods.

Users who are not verified as adults will be denied access to age-restricted servers and channels, and content classified as sensitive by Discord will be filtered. They will also receive warnings when friend requests are received from potentially unknown users, and direct messages from potentially unknown users will be automatically filtered into a separate inbox.

Crikey. No way I would provide ID to a remote social media operator and certainly not actual images of my ugly mug. What’s to say this won’t be used for nefarious purposes or that the information could get hacked. We know they won’t, but maybe DTG need to rethink their increasing reliance on Discord in light of this.

 

Yep, I mean afaik this age ID stuff has already been active on Discord in the UK for months now thanks to our laws but now as of next month is becoming a worldwide thing. As far as train sim related servers go it should be fine for people to continue on as normal without sending anything ID wise or face wise to Discord, nothing is really age restriction worthy in those spaces. But if somebody did need to un-age-lock their account for whatever reason, honestly I wouldn't trust it, data breaches happen all of the time, they say the data is deleted after 7 days or sometimes they say its only stored locally on your device but who is actually going to believe that

You can just point your camera at an image of a person or even a video game character tbf, the algorithm only looks for signs of ageing.

 

Yes, that’s correct. You can blame that shower that’s currently running the country for this nonsense. Personally, I’m more worried about the facial recognition cameras popping up all over the place than Discord needing to know if I ‘look’ over 18 or not.
I needed to verify my age 4 months ago. Very simple process. No issues whatsoever.

 

Never used Discord in my life. It will be staying that way for definite now lol.

Considering discord leaked 70000 id's a few months ago, this is definitely gonna drive people away.
Im not gonna give my ID to a company known for leaking said ID's in a data breach.

To be fair that was their support system only not the id check to access discord, or at least from what I read

As far as I can read into this, it’s not mandatory and shouldn’t only prevent access to age-restricted areas. I doubt it will affect anything I use on Discord (which I don’t particularly like, preferring forums which are more persistent and much easier to search).

 

Yes but were they not supposed to delete your ID after verifying your AGE? Also an Data breach including your ID is way more serious imo
Idk about other countries but here the ID includes everything you need for identity stealing and obviously doxxing you

 

Support tickets are slightly different from age verification ids, pretty sure that have to keep support ticket linked stuff for set period of time before deleting
Possibly missread this before so I’m sorry if I’m mistaken
