    Satirical nod {enough is enough thread}
    Actually rather hyped for this. Growing up watching Thomas i think they'll be some really good bits come through in this.

    Im interested to see the route in more detail, how things slot together and most importantly the story mode. I hope this successfully brings in a new generation both to this but TSW too

    Could be one for a sale if it ticks certain boxes.

    Excuse me, there aren't enough pricing comments on here just yet for me to reply to!

    Seriously, the game is going to be awesome, I know the teams have worked hard on it.

    Okay... To me £25 for Standard and £30 for Deluxe would be a better starting point, particularly for grizzled old curmudgeons like me to come off the fence. Particularly if this is going to be a platform for DLC - extensions and new trains.

    I think going into this with a "this isn't tsw" in any shape lens, enjoying the world of sodor and however it's been set up will reward the brain with a lovely trip down memory lane for us

    I knew I could count on you Vern.

    Seriously though, this is on-par pricing with a lot of the Mattel licensing partnerships I’ve been a part of.

    Hoping DLC will be released for more than just a year looking at previous Train Sim World games, unless they were to announce in the future Wonders of Sodor 2. Really think this could be the ultimate Thomas video game that could last years as long as content release is kept consistent.

    Happy to oblige! However DTG (and Mattel) must realise this could impact initial sales levels on what is essentially a niche within a niche as I will be quite content to wait for a sale before trying it. Better to sell 10K copies at £30, than 3K copies at £40 then the rest at £20, with the danger by then something new has come along and people just pass it by. As indeed I’m doing with the current Festival Of Rail. Three good new TSW routes in the offing, plus the next SimRail route extension are more appealing than buying older stuff, at this point.

    I'm interested and going to follow the development of it but not sure if I'm going purchase it day one and pay full price ,may well change my mind if it turns out to be a cracker of a game when it realises though ,(I think I'm one of those people that's pretending it's not a big deal but when I can get my hands on it will be playing a three hour session in the backroom ) lol

    I'm imagine if they were smart they'd have an initial sale (even a pre-sale) to generate interest, lock in sales and offer a reduced price to get people in the door. There's no DLC yet to "bundle" so they can't really do that.
    Perhaps a very small symbolic discount for long time TSW fans of maybe 10-15% for long time TSW players as a work-around?
    (Bundle the two together for a discount and then if you already have TSW, you get a deal for Sodor?)

    I'm not saying it's excessively priced at all. I think it's fair given what else is out there and how much things cost these days. I do think that for an initial launch, Vern is right. You want the most customers as possible to get on board for later DLCs to sell to them.
