For me, it is all just marketing and PR until a fix is actually released and verified to work on my Xbox.

Talk is cheap at the end of the day.

It kind of funny that the PS5 mounting issue has reared its head again, because I distinctly remember back when it was first "solved", posting on here that with some of the routes (especially German) that pull trains and rolling stock from dozens of other routes, it would only be a matter of time before routes needed to "mount" so many DLC that they'd hit the limit again. And here we are. And I am no game dev, just a dude using logic, so you'd think they'd have anticipated this issue years ago. But apparently not.

The layering system in this game is a disaster waiting to happen. I love layering but the fact that the game needs to mount an entire 10gb route just to use a loco or wagon from it on another route to me is a clear recipe for memory issues. I don't know the solution (or if there even can be one this far into the game's development) but they probably should have taken measures to include all rolling stock in the base game (even if the payer doesn't "own" it to have access) and let any route use them regardless of what other routes are installed. That would make the base game a bit bigger but it would save most users a lot of space (there'd be no need for me to have 10 different DLCs installed to populate the layers on the 1 DLC I want to play at the time for example).

Ok this section of the roadmap is giving me a headache. You're talking about the 147 on Stuttgart route, then "routes" are mentioned getting new life. ICE3M at Mannheim... that's not on the Stuttgart route. ICE in KWG... well that's there since the beginning, same for ICE-T on F-F. Can this be clarified a bit?

I assume that's just poorly worded. It probably means that all these Trains will appear on the new Timetable in some way, either as AI or playable. If you have all the associated DLC.

Yeah, I spotted a few other typos in the article:
    • "With alot of preparation in January" - should be "a lot"
    • "we're now in the final stages of it's development" - should be "its"
    • "which will help enchance the immersion as you play" - should be "enhance"
    • "we’re working to ensure that we can’t find new ways to help support mounting and efficiencies that allow us to work around this issue" - pretty sure that should be you can find new ways to help!

As a Czech, I was amused with this:
although to be fair, it is more understandable with foreign names. It is supposed to be Chlumec.

Unfortunately the site we use to edit these for the Dovetail website doesn't tell us if we've actually had a typo, and when you're writing this much as quickly as you can, there's going to be a few!

I sympathise, as someone who does web publishing. I always do a readthrough just looking for typos or similar (I can spot a double space at 10 paces :)). May I also commend copying and pasting text into Word or similar, and using its grammar/spell checks?

And I asked a question back then about how the limit will affect layers on the future and JD told me it wouldn't be a problem for a while. So they knew it would be eventually but haven't worked on it!
