With the GWR Remaster on the horizon, I’m somewhat disappointed that the Class 802 won’t feature more on the route. I understand the original timetable is set in 2018 and Liam wants to keep to the original as much as possible. I know Liam has some 802 test runs included in the service list, but a brand new timetable featuring the 802 would be better.
    More timetables the better, right?

It would work in conjunction with future routes, if say DTG or a third party decided to do another GWR route, continuing from Reading, either linking up with Exeter St David’s or Oxford for example.

As well as a new timetable we could get a Class 57, also known as the night riviera. I’m pretty sure players wouldn’t mind taking her for spin on the riviera line ;)

I don’t want to count my chickens too soon, but a Reading to Exeter St David’s could work really well if the night riviera came into fruition. We’d have three connected GWR routes for two kinds of traction.

I was just thinking about that this afternoon !
I was wondering if, and when, we'll get a night train in TSW...

Sure thing, first, we need a certain number of routes where they run on. We're making progress on that.
Perhaps a stretch of the WHL would include the Class 156 and a 73/9 with the Mk5 coaches as an extra DLC, for example.
But elsewhere it seems hazardous because there aren't many services, even with the ECS moves.
This may be of interest only to people who have all the relevant routes (not just Paddington - Reading, for example, in case of the Night Riviera).

And then there's the problem of night driving, which is currently way too dark in TSW, and that hasn't been resolved.

Unfortunately, I think we'll have to wait many more years... :(

It would definitely be nice to see a 2025 timetable for this route with GWR and unbranded/branded HX 387s plus lizzy line?! And, of course 802 and 800s running majority of services.

Difficulty is the route won’t have OHLE past the junction to Heathrow. And it’s already confirmed that scenery and ohle won’t be updated to reflect 2025. So stuff like the 387 won’t be able to run past Hayes and harlington.

Considering the OHLE only needs adding. Maybe a GWR Remaster V2.5 2019) version.
Keep all the scenery the same, just update the route with OHLE. The Isle Of Wight has done it with its raising platforms for the 484.

I like this suggestion very much. Hope you don't mind, but I've gone a bit further, possibly too far , with a suggestion of my own based on yours.

Yes they have the base scenery available but there will still need to be changes to bring it up even to the year 2019
the TFL/Elizabeth line Depot at old oak would need to be constructed (its the area with all the construction depicted in the dlc
Purple TFL/Elizabeth line signs, as these took over many GWR local services along the GWE
plus a couple of scenery changes to possible stations.
Along with the start of the crossrail underground section,
Im sure there are many more but this is off the top of my head...

To really make this worth while in the future and as a new DLC to sell, should they look at a GWE v2026 and to possibly add the following:

    - The 2 mile branch line to Greenford with the new Battery train which uses refurbed D-stock (I mean what a way to promote it since they have the GWR license)
    - The 2.8mile Branch line to Windsor & Eaton this way the 165/166 still gets used
    - The 4mile Hanely branch (Im ok without the Marlow run but I wont say no to additional branch lines)
    - Extend the run 24-27miles to Oxford (including Didcot Parkway) This way you also get the xc 220 run in from Reading as well as good runs for the 387 to Didcot and 800/802 with a complete end to end at Oxford to/from Paddington

If you'd have asked me if I wanted another GWR route a few months ago I probably would have said no. However after riding and trainspotting at some of these lines IRL it's something I'd quite like to see.

The routes I'd like to see are Salisbury to Bristol Temple Meads, which could include an up-to-date class 165/166, or Exeter St. Davids to Reading, which would give a really long run in the 800 or HST, depending on the era. The countryside which these routes run through is quite nice in a way I can't really explain, especially around Westbury.

I'd also love to see a GWE remaster featuring a separate 802 timetable. In my opinion, I'd even settle for a less realistic example of the route staying exactly the same i.e. with the OHLE not complete, but having the 802 run in diesel mode instead.

What frustrates me is that having the 802 in TSW, but can't go all the way to Paddington, arguably it's most important destination - especially when Riviera is in a slightly more modern time period etc. I like when routes which have services that link up, which means longer, more immersive gameplay rather than different eras.

There is a service that runs from reading to Paddington.

Indeed, but only the odd test services. It would be nice to have a full 24-hour timetable for the 802 to complement the HST timetable.

Currently broken. You can’t switch to diesel mode in the 802, as soon as you come off the OHLE your train gradually comes to a halt.
    Fix is coming soon.

Class 57 and sleepers for the night riviera are much needed. Class 180s are notable in their absence. I advocate any plan that would give us the branch lines but it must include ALL passenger and freight lines between Paddington and Reading in order to be worthwhile.
Perhaps some additional dlogw stock dlcs would be nice like classes 22, 35, 42/43, 117, 121, 123 and 128.
