Heigenbrucken on MSB: One of my favorite places in TSW, in any weather. A bottleneck at the top of the grade with banking, freight, and passenger services all vying for a spot in the tunnel.
I am approaching 1000km driven on MSB. I am getting familiar with the grades, speed restrictions, and traffic patterns. Rather than get bored with it, I am enjoying it more because I know how it's laid out and I have a feel for how to best to drive it. I have yet to explore many of the other TSW routes and I didn't start out with this goal in mind, but I think I might try it again. What other routes are worthy of a 1000km experience?
Unfortunately this timetabled run 2G19 Hastings to Brighton (10:36) has a bug where there's a stuck red signal outside of Brighton
Good call! I am now at nearly 1000km on RSN. What a nice route. In my TS XX experience, I mostly stuck with North American routes and locos. While I do enjoy Heavy Haul, I've developed a fetish for German locos in TSW. The latest for me is 182; what a magnificent drive. Some 182 shots on MSB and RSN are below. So, should I try Rapid Transit or Rhein-Ruhr Osten next?
I've spent the weekend playing along the German routes, and I've actually properly enjoyed them! So here's a selection of screenshots.
Nice shots! I recognize some of the places and can't wait to explore the others; I love driving the German routes.
After driving 146 280 on the RE From Hagen Hbf to Wuppertal Hbf, I jumped off the next S8 to drive back to Hagen Hbf via the loop. However, in doing this, I found I soon became the only train moving on the map, no S-Bahn passed the other way and Hagen Hbf was dead. I thought even in free roam that the timetabled trains should still run?
A day off work means spending time on all sorts of routes (I even played CSX for the first time! US Routes don't particularly interest me much). I definitely enjoy driving German traction / routes more though.
Fantastic images. I've been enjoying German routes a lot too lately, but am having a hard time getting used to using PZB.
I've got used to how TSW has implemented it, for the most part. Usually, if I get an emergency stop, its due to me not paying attention!
I learned PZB one emergency stop at a time. I like to pick a passenger run with some PZB action and save at every station stop. I run each segment until I know exactly what PZB is doing. High speeds and PZB make the German routes fun for me.
47457 and its oil train wait at Huddersfield for the Peak-hauled express to pass. Unfortuately the game doesn't allow that to happen and I had to set off with the oil train in front of the express. Pity the Duff was low on power!
40174 passes through what used to be Cheshire (now Greater Manchester) on a moon-lit morning sometime in 1983
Transitioning from RT to 1000km on RRO. RRO is very impressive and I am pleased that the 155 and 182 are available on the route. I look forward to exploring this one!
I did a run on the Sand patch grade. Just open the freeroam scenario, started a loco from cold and dark, turned it around, got it on a mainline and drove as far as I wanted.
I'm rumbling out a few more miles on Sand Patch before headed back to RRO - and then checking out the new route.
