Been going back to some of the old scenarios that I either never did on my ongoing profile or had never got round to (ie some of the Cargo Line based ones) and feels quite surreal doing those older ones with it looking so exquisite now.

Take this with a pinch of salt, but I saw this on a TSW Facebook group... Someone appears to be making a mod to the 350 to remove the gangway and make it a authentic looking 360.

Dunno if anyone has already mentioned but a group by the name of 75KV Studios are working on making a freeware 360. I've attached the livestream where it was revealed. It's still a WIP, and they plan to include ATP for the /2 which is mega. I'm very excited personally.

I would love to see an 802 timetable for this route in the future. Paid or free. I’d happily pay for it though.

The shadow of the gangway really puts into perspective how restricted the view on the 350 is.

But it would need a new route to go with it.

No it wouldn’t. The 802’s can run without OHLE.

Well obviously..... But...... They ran as electric between Paddington and Reading when introduced into service.

IRL true, but the route doesn’t have OHLE all the way to Paddington. The 802 can still run on diesel though to compensate for that.

I could use the argument of the diesel legends pack. Those trains weren’t meant for that era that the route is set in, but the timetable still fits in nicely. No reason not to include a 802 timetable along side it.

Yeah which is why I said it needs a new route with full OHLE......And what you say is also why the DL Pack is rubbish as it just doesn't fit the route and breaks immersion. I only bought it in a sale for the stock in other routes and LD.

Maybe this will be the TSW7 route that’s extended, maybe as far as Bristol, maybe now they’ve done the remaster that’s as far as they’ll take it. I noticed the floating forest appears on this route too.

I’ve heard more reports of them breaking down or not being able to run during power outages compared to the old and iconic trains of the past, they also actually look different from each

It would make more sense to just add the OHLE and extend it on the existing GWR remastered route. As they’d be selling us a partial duplicate route with some slightly updated 2025/26 assets. I couldn’t see a modern version of this route ever happening though IMO.

What they should do is start another GWR route from Reading and terminating at Bristol and Oxford. We’d have two choices where to drive to. Similar style on the MML.

They didn't change any scenery for that anyways. What you're suggesting requires some kind of change to the scenery. And then at that point you might aswell refresh the whole thing.

They (DTG) found a new way of getting you to buy routes and add ons. Add one or two items in from other routes then make you think you getting good value. We should have known, GWE had all the stock (GW) it needed in the original. I already had the Western but oh no I have to buy a whole new DLC to get it. Anyway did not want all the flash stuff. Can always spawn

It's not exactly new now, is it? Layering has always been a part of this game. And, if you think that GWE itself has all the trains it needs, then go for it. You don't have to buy more if you don't want to.

Yeah, nasty DTG giving us a free update to an old route. How dare they create a new timetable as well!

What exactly have they removed from GWE? They have even maintained the old timetable, so no need to buy anything new if you want to stay in denial.

Ah yes... they are a business and this is how a business works. I'm loving the fact that with already owning the route we got the remaster for free. Liam and the others involved have put their expertise and a large number of hours in to this free of charge for our benefit. Of course they will recoup some of that effort due to now having an upgraded route to use for future paid DLC releases. Personally I have no issues with this and will happily purchase the DLC if it interests me.

I'm fortunate in owning most of the additional DLC required for this remaster as my interest is British railways.

With the ECW remaster just around the corner I purchased some DLC I will require to enjoy the full experience during the recent sale at a very nice discount. Personally I think it's pretty good value, with sales etc. the financial hit can be reduced. You can't expect everything for free, the devs have to live and pay the bills same as the rest of us. Crack on with the unmastered original if you feel that way.

It's great seeing the underground at Paddington and even the fake class 360's, but if they weren't there it wouldn't be a huge deal. The timetable with the HST, Networkers and class 66 is busy enough.

I imagine IOW can be bought cheaply when a sale occurs.

I doubt it's some evil conspiracy by DTG to make people spend money, generally people can think for themselves.

That's what I said, update superb, no need to clutter it up with non realistic stuff that belongs to it's own DLC

If players don’t own the layers that’s not the developers fault. They build the route from what stock is currently available.

It’s fundamental that it will encourage sales though, as players will want add-on’s they don’t own.

Regardless, I really like IOW itself though. It's a really lovely little and relaxing route.

Absolutely - plus I love to finally be able to see Portsmouth etc from Ryde as per reality. I only started playing this route again the other day after a very long time due to the GWE remaster and for some reason I assumed it was already TOD 4 - but I'd forgotten just how much older the route is than I remember; probably because the 484 version was quite a considerable update to the original.
