Hello. I'm new here. I started playing TSW5 when it was made available on PS+ and have since upgraded to 6.

So, straight into it, I'm having trouble with the Drag Line Scenario on GWE. (Remastered)
I managed to pull the failed train all the way to Old Oak Common, though the entire journey I was very slowly losing speed while the amps were climbing higher.

Once there I was instructed to reverse into the yard. But here I got stuck. The train refused to move. The brakes were released, the reverser was set to reverse, but no matter how much power I put in, no movement. Eventually the train either clipped through the floor or flew off into the air and failed the scenario by derailment. I have no idea what was wrong. I'll have to restart to try again, but can anyone explain why the train refused to move?

The amps climbed into the red with as little as Throttle 3. Pushing it further just resulted in wheelslip. The brakes on the tow train were also released. The gradient was 0.0%. I just don't understand it.

    (I'm not exactly an expert)

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

Giving this a bump in case anyone can assist. I don't wanna play the scenario again if the same thing is gonna happen.
What's the correct way to do this?

I dont wish to Hijack ShadowGandalf's thread/problem. But since its a fresh thread on the scenario. I hope Shadow wont mind me adding more faults in this scenario. (TSW6 PS5)

    Few problems.

1: Upon entering the Loco, I put in the handle for the reverser and set it to forward. It then tells me to hold and release the brakes.
When I do this it only goes as far as number 4 on the brake pressure dial and releasing the button turns increases it back on again.
I have to every time press start and click on the "I'm Stuck Reset Train Physics" and now the Brakes release as they should.

2: I can only get as far as entering the loco, stopping at the first point, change ends and then stopping at signal T1985 where the game calls the dispatcher. The game then instructs me to go ahead to the broken down HST. I can never do it, as soon as I go pass that red light its a SPAD failure EVERY TIME. I've seen a few vids and I'm not doing anything different.
I've also found out that this bug was known 8 YEARS AGO! So you'd think for a remaster they would fix this bug wouldn't you?

This Scenario is NOT playable for me. At least ShadowGandalf above actually managed to tow the train, I've tried again and again, I just cant even get pass that SPAD!

Hey, hope this helps. If you go to the TMS screen on the class 66 and then to "brake cut in" and cut the brakes in, then on the throttle stand there are three switches that may also need to be toggled.

    This should get you going

Edit to add: do this before you follow the scenario instructions to release your brakes.

This sounds like the parking brake was still set in the HST. It’s on in the far end cab and needs to be turned off as per the instruction. It could be that it triggered the instruction but the brake didn’t turn off properly.

When you say “the game calls the dispatcher” that’s actually when you have to hold down the CIRCLE button on your controller to call the dispatcher yourself. Then the two white ‘call on’ signal lights should light up next to the red signal and you can pass it without a SPAD ending the service.

It’s definitely a buggy scenario and I had to fiddle with the headlight switch repeatedly to get each headlight on/headlight off instruction to accept I had done it, plus the brakes having to be cut in and out and the control switches set when changing ends not being in the instructions, but it is doable on PS5 after the remaster because I’ve just done it tonight.

Thanks, I did not know, I'm deaf and its hard to hear anything so I just assumed when the game said calling dispatcher and then instructions to move forward to the train prompts up, I just assumed the game did all this for me.

As for the lights, when you first enter the loco, by putting the arrow on the switch opposite to what the prompt is saying triggers the next prompt, you can set it right after the next prompt is triggered.

Also I've been told that there's a "Cut In" brakes procedure that the games scenario instructions also doesn't tell you to do and you find out how by doing the introduction training to the class 66.

That worked about half the time for me, and for the other times I was setting the lights on or off I kept having to put it in all four positions repeatedly until it triggered the next prompt. It was like an extra little game to play but fortunately it did trigger each time eventually. Glad I could help with the red light for you.
