This reminds us that the passengers spawning system should be improved to avoid having people waiting on platforms where no train stops... (among other things)

Haven't got access to a timetable from then but I'm sure it was 1 Oxford and 1 Hereford/Worcester (via Oxford obviously) back then.
Once they dropped the Worcester/Hereford stop, then it became half-hourly Oxfords.
Then that went and we got the 387s on Didcot services. Sadly, Oxford services these days are only on a Sunday.

That aside, given how many suicides there were at Slough over the years, it was a surprise it took so long to put the fencing up.
One of my neighbours, she lost her youngest son there over a decade ago. To this day - she still doesn't know why he did it. :(

I've been asking DTG for years to remove the people at Neilston waiting on a platform that is for set-down only!
WCML South has people waiting on platforms which never see trains stop.

Exactly. But not only that, you have for example Cheddington which is teeming with people in the middle of the off-peak hours... I wonder to see how it will be at Polesworth in the upcoming Trent Valley...

Me. More. Total. It's infuriating. Go on evening/night/morning rides WITHOUT NORMAL LIGHTING FROM THE HEADLIGHTS!

You're poking around like a blind kitten in the dark, and you can't even really see the rails!

To be honest, train headlights are like that in real life, no need for headlights really

    Yup, this.

Bad enough you have passengers where they shouldn’t be, even worse when they’re not where they should actually be.

Empty trains on 1X & 2X services, yet depot and other 5X runs somehow aren’t empty.

No real static trains and wagons around many empty yards, makes many lines feel lifeless!..... I understand the whole memory thing but that's using the current in game/drivable rolling stock we have, surprised that they have never created less poly heavy static models, without the bells and whistles, tinted window carriages and models that one is unable to enter to sit in yards and sidings that are never used (basically just shells of their current roiling stock) to create a more immersive game

I've thought this same thing many a time. Some WWII flight sims do this where the planes you fly and fight in the air are fully modelled but they have low poly simplified versions for use as both parked aircraft to make airfields seem populated and as ground attack targets. Perhaps something like this could be used to extend the render distance of long freight trains as far as the eye can see so your train doesn't disappear after however many cars it does now.

I've thought the same thing about tracks, even though they are empty some large yards and stations are pretty brutal on the framerate. I wonder if it wouldn't be better to build some sections of those areas just as unusable eye candy with simplified track assets. Focus on just the main infrastructure with a few areas for some switching services and what not.

A consist in the depot without a locomotive attached, but with passengers onboard.

The menu system. I get lost every time. It’s like the mines of Moria.

A new one for me is in the new GWE remaster at Paddington...every single platform announcement is London Paddington service to London Paddington. Does anyone else notice this? It's completely meaningless in the big picture but it certainly is a minor immersion killer.

Waiting passengers doing stationary moonwalking like a stuck Michael Jackson gets a chuckle out of me as well.

Sections with missing line side fencing. Doesn't affect gameplay at all, but once you spot some, it's so hard to not notice it whenever you drive past that section

When vehicle shadows appear on bridge supports because the bridge doesn't block the light or create its' own shadow.

Another instance where MSTS was better as this was a thing. Used less polys, couldn't be moved but populated yards/sidings.

Also, no need for every loco in a depot/siding to have the engine running 24/7.

I was playing yesterday and it was foggy and then the fog just straight up entirely disappeared all at once. It looks so unnatural when that happens

TSW is perfectly capable of both low-poly static stock and having the engine turned off for static locos.

Yes it's very immersion breaking. I tend to avoid dynamic weather unless it's a short run as usually there isn't time for the inevitable fog to come. Or the biblical rain and snow storms which arrive, although I do like the impending doom effect when the skies turn grey.

Sometimes something is added which should improve the experience, dynamic weather, train faults etc but I end up turning them off.

We know that, the problem is that after all this time of TSW, we still don't have it.

I actually thought it's just a freight thing that they are going faster than 100 or 120 km/h. But today I realized all trains seem to always run at full track speed. Even on the newest routes trains don't respect their own maximum speed.
Saw that on BR 143 (vMax 120 km/h) on Dresden-Leipzig (going at 137 km/h) as well as for Class 150 (vMax 75 mph) on the Riviera (going at 77mph)

While I understand that following signalled speed would take a maximum effort of the devs I think setting a maximum speed for each loco or car would not be a big thing. Even MSTS was able to calculate max speed of a consist by taking the minimum of all vehicles!
