Just wondering when the terminating announcements will get fixed?
Will it be in this update?

This is a form of false advertising.
You will still have to get off your train, walk thru the marker, get onboard another train and setup the cab...

Suggestion: Pacific Surfliner Route with Coast Starlight and Coaster Operations

I would like to suggest the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner corridor as a potential future route for Train Sim World. This corridor offers a unique combination of scenic coastal running, multiple passenger operators, and both regional and long-distance services, making it an excellent candidate for a detailed simulation.

    Core Route Concept

The main focus would be the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner corridor. A strong starting section would be the line between Los Angeles Union Station (LAUS) and San Diego, which is one of the busiest intercity passenger corridors in the United States.

However, expanding the route north to San Luis Obispo (SLO) would add significant operational value and make it possible to include long-distance services as well.

A full Los Angeles Union Station to San Luis Obispo route would provide a mix of dense urban railroading, beautiful coastal scenery, and longer intercity operations.

    Passenger Services

The primary service would be the Pacific Surfliner, which operates frequent daily services along the Southern California coastline. These trains would form the backbone of the timetable and offer a variety of playable runs of different lengths.

If the route were extended to San Luis Obispo, it would also allow the Coast Starlight to appear between Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo. This would introduce a long-distance service to the route with larger train consists and a different style of operation compared to the Surfliner corridor trains.

    Locomotives

The route could feature a mix of both modern and legacy Amtrak power to represent the corridor across different periods.

    Possible locomotives could include:

Siemens ALC-42 Charger for long-distance services
Siemens SC-44 Charger used on Surfliner services
GE P42DC Genesis, which historically operated on both Surfliner and Coast Starlight trains
EMD F59PHI, the classic locomotive long associated with Amtrak California and the Surfliner brand

Including the F59PHI would be especially popular since it is strongly tied to the identity of the Pacific Surfliner corridor.

    Rolling Stock

To accurately represent the services, the following rolling stock could be included:

    • Surfliner bi-level passenger cars
    • Cab cars for push-pull Surfliner operations
Superliner coaches and sleepers for the Coast Starlight
    Superliner Baggage Car

These trains would provide different operating experiences between corridor services and long-distance operations.

    Additional Operator: Coaster

Another major opportunity for variety would be the inclusion of North County Transit District commuter operations.

The Coaster runs between San Diego and Oceanside and shares part of the same corridor as the Pacific Surfliner. Including this service would add additional traffic, more timetable density, and another realistic layer of operations.

    Audio and Realism

Accurate locomotive audio would greatly improve immersion. Including authentic horn recordings for each locomotive type—possibly with both high and low horn variations—would help capture the real sound of these trains operating along the coast.

    Additional realistic features could include:

    • Detailed coastal scenery along the Pacific Ocean
    • Busy passenger activity at Los Angeles Union Station
    • Realistic stopping patterns and station announcements
    • AI traffic representing multiple operators on the same line

    Previous Representation in Train Simulator

It is also worth mentioning that the Pacific Surfliner corridor has already appeared in Train Simulator Classic. That version demonstrated that this route can work very well in a rail simulator and remains a popular U.S. passenger route among players.

Bringing the Pacific Surfliner into Train Sim World with modern graphics, improved physics, and more detailed operations would allow the corridor to be represented at a much higher level of realism.

Why This Route Would Be a Strong Addition

The Pacific Surfliner corridor offers several advantages that make it ideal for Train Sim World:

    • One of the most recognizable passenger corridors in the United States
    • High service frequency and varied operations
    • Multiple passenger operators
    • Both corridor and long-distance trains
    • Modern and classic locomotives
    • Scenic coastal environments

With the right level of detail, a Pacific Surfliner route could become one of the most dynamic and visually impressive U.S. passenger routes in Train Sim World.

Will the Expert 145 have a freight layer (and is there freight in general on this route?) for Ingolstadt - Nüremburg?
    Excited for the route nonetheless!

You can't expect DTG to fix such a serious error so quickly.:o
Hopefully it won't take another nine months!

They might as well use the Frankfurt Fulda ones.
Either way we won't get passenger announcements on either, even though effectively Stuttgart will be getting another train added into the DLC which is TSW and has TSW 6 features.

    Additional Community Questions
What happened to the Peak Forest BR Class 104 Pack?
This has been a unique case, as generally speaking, when we announce new add-ons, we typically bring them to players in a generally short timeframe (3-6 months). Sometimes this can be longer; development cycles aren't always consistent, and certainly from one add-on to the next, never the same. Our timeframes are also just our best guesses, especially with third-party content, the developers are creating the content, but these plans/directions/life can suddenly change and plans can change too. A notable example is Lisbon-Setubal from the Roadmap stream, and VirtuaVia360, despite having unforeseen issues, they're still making good progress.

When it comes to the Class 104 pack, this is similar, but essentially we haven't received more from the developer, and we've as such removed from our Roadmap. Until we see more information/development, this is effectively shelved (of course, with the potential that if we start getting more details, we can look to re-introduce it to the Roadmap and continue development updates).

I'd like to think this is quite a rare circumstance; a few add-ons fall into this bucket of jumping around on our Roadmap (the 420 is once, Tadami Line is another), but again, I come back to our Roadmaps aiming to be the best prediction of what you can expect.

As feedback for our teams, seeing how the community reactions and questions have been, I think we probably should be clearer about when content "drops off" the Roadmap, and draw a clear line if we've not had communication/updates after X amount of time. I'm not sure we did that here, but I'd like to think if we have another situation like this in future, we'll try to communicate more clearly :)

Any plans on updating the UI for the mastery achievements poster screens?
Mastery has been great to introduce, but I think we can agree some oversights were made about the longer term support, and adding more posters for the UI here is likely one of those areas. I'll raise this to the team again, I know we've discussed it internally once already, but if we can get an improvement here, then we'll see if we can support.

I take it there isn't any more Remasters coming then?
For now, we've not announced anything, but if you see our Roadmap timestamp above (1:54:15), then you'll hear me and matt talking about the success of remasters, and the internal desire to look at future candidates.
So, I wouldn't say never, I'd probably start asking "when" - but we'll share more news if/when the time is right :)

With the community demonstrating that route merges are possible, what are the chances of some of the more frequently requested merges/extensions being progressed?
As of right now, we've not got any formalised plans to consider route merges. I think it's worth stating that, before we start increasing the potential of routes, let's nail the optimisation work for what we have available first, and then consider the idea.
Similar to extensions, but this is a very different scope to a merger, and then we've got to understand player appeal and such.
Good ideas, not part of the focuses we're aiming at for the time being, but possible something for the future!

    Future plans for TSW?

Speaking of the future, of course I can't commit to anything we've not formally announced yet, but when we have more news, we'll aim to share it with you all :) The team are working hard, and the future of TSW continues strong - Right now, a lot of our focus is on improving the core experience, but we're also scoping what happens beyond this, and where else we can take the TSW experience!

    Direct Player Responses
d.heal Looking forward to sharing more fun streams with Harry and the team for 4UPs, and ideally bringing more guests on board when we can :) As a note, JD will likely make the odd appearance, but he's stepped away from livestreaming as a key part of his work, and Nat has moved to work on other areas within Dovetail, so it's unlikely we'll see her return to regular streaming (outside of guest appearances on fun streams potentially).

archline DLSS is something the team are aware and investigating as a note, I'm unsure of what's been stated in some of Matt's older comments, but I know the team are reviewing a range of choices that we can activate to support the best performance, and improving this so that the foundation of TSW remains healthy. If we have more news to share about when/if you can expect this to arrive in TSW, we'll let you know!

Thank you everyone, catch you for next month's Roadmap!
