follow the lower speed limit shown in the cab. acknowledge whenever it beeps. i think there’s a manual which goes into greater detail but that’s the crux of it. once you get the hang of it it’ll be a breeze
For the ACSES departure test: Set the master controller to min brake, then activate the test. Press Acknowledge, after a few seconds, the track speed indicator will display a 3 Acknowledge again, the number changes to 4, and beeping starts Acknowledge again, after a few seconds, the train will dump, and the number changes to 5 Move the master controller to max brake, then acknowledge again. Then number will change to 6 Move the master controller out of max brake, then back into it, to trigger the auto recharging of the brake pipe When the brake pipe is fully charged, move the controller back to min brake, then repeat steps 2-5 to complete the test As for the ATC daily test, I still haven't figured that one out myself
I know how they work and how to work with them, but its the ACSES departure test and ATC daily test I'm talking about.
Found it in the LIRR Train Handling and Equipment Manual, "AUTOMATIC SPEED CONTROL DEPARTURE TEST (ASCDT)", page 9: So the in-game steps for a "cold" EMU are: Master Key: On Reverser: Forward Master Controller: Max Brake - wait for brake pipe pressure to reach 130+ psi. Master Controller: Min Brake ATC Daily Test button will show "Ready" in the left hand display unit. Click on ATC Daily Test. ATC Daily Test button will show In Progress. The ADU will display 80. Acknowledge. The ADU will keep illuminating different speeds. Acknowledge each one. Finally, when the ADU shows 15, Acknowledge and wait. The screen on the right will show and overspeed warning and will apply brakes. Once Brake Pipe pressure goes to 0, Acknowledge. The ATC Daily Test button will show Passed.
