Hey, I’d be interested in a west Cornwall local remaster and bring to current time. Ie. Use the voyager, gwr trains from the riviera line and bring the overall setting to TSW6 standards. Maybe even more layers that I’m forgetting I think from memory this was the original ideas but they didn’t have the GWR license at the time. It’s not a long route, but with the new trains, there’s quite a lot that can be added here for in my opinion, potentially quite a small amount of work. lots of new gameplay options here
I'd prefer it left in the current period, honestly. Perhaps add in an extra GWR period timetable alongside a 90s one
I think any remaster should focus on improving the environment. The St.Ives branch is one of the most beautiful sections of railway in the UK and yet the TSW version seems flat, pallid and life-less. The sea has one tidal setting. It's just not realistic enough.
For the last time remasters don’t change the era, 90s for the win for this route (even though the 60/70s were more interesting to me due to the 42s and 52s) A diesel legends style pack but modern could work but even then the current modern era sucks So it should be during the full hst sets time period
The current WCL needs nuking from orbit and starting over from scratch. The chances of Rivet or DTG ever revisiting this seem second to none, they can’t even fix the incorrect speed restriction which forces you to run at 20 MPH all the way from Carbis Bay back to St Erth (it should go back up to 30 MPH after the foot crossing). As regards era, definitely keep as now or even better earlier so you could bring in a Class 50 to do the main loco hauled WR internal services along with Paxman engine HST’s.
It would need a V2 type deal to have this area brought up to modern TT capabilities.. Personally I would welcome a v2 but with the extension to Plymouth to pair up with the Riviera DLC.. In the interim if you are on PC there is a nice 2019 TT with the 80x, hst and 220s available which despite the single track section, fills a nice gap, https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...7165-west-cornwall-local-march-2019-timetable
Unpopular opinion, but I agree with the OP. Bring it up to a modern day era so it uses a 2025 timetable, to work in conjunction with the Exeter St David’s to Plymouth route. Then add the Plymouth to Penzance section (Extended Remastered version). Gimme my green cucumber!
