I'm not arguing with your arguments; we're in the same boat. I just wanted to say that there's no need to worry about the game. It's a shame, but what can you do about it?
What comes across is that you don't expect much. A cardinal rule of life is if you don't ask, you don't get. And, with a company that charges $40-50 a route and yet makes so many mistakes, it's important to ask questions, and then ask again and again, even if we're not sure they're listening. For me the priority is not the PIS, rather it's the save game problem on GWE-R and the omission of Raildriver support on the Czech and other recent routes. But for those people who are frustrated by the PIS bug, they should be complaining long and loud.
Well it's been a disappointing week. First the delay to NY- Stamford, and now a rather meh patch. And everything comes in 3's..........
Problem is a lot of us forget what was supposed to be fixed and never did get fixed even though you read that DTG had been sent fixes by developers months/years ago. Wonder if there is a thread(or should there be one), “promised fixes over the years that we are still waiting for”?
What I find hilarious is this" " As a note on mastery posters, our teams are currently investigating an improvement to navigation on the mastery poster UI menu" Wdym "currently investigating"? What needs investigating? The problem is pretty damn obvious. There's more posters than fits on the screen but no scroll function. It's obvious what needs to be done. A scroll function needs to be added
And with the next patch something else breaks etc... it's a problem with many versions of the same etc, everything loads the system, I still don't understand why rail vehicles can't be independent elements, like in the case of some DLCs, there's not always one given model from a given version that would have fixes and updates. Today we have several Dostos driving cars, each with different bugs etc, and that's the case with everything ....... several BR143, BR 146 etc ....... today it turns out that layering over additional maps will also be one of the elements that causes problems with performance, memory etc ..... it was allowed to go too far, and the question is whether it can be reasonably fixed in its current form. With the arrival of the new region Czech Republic, no system changes will probably happen and the same thing will start happening........it doesn't matter now, maybe in a few years or after a few addons or maps we will be at the same point of decomposition
I thought I would see more on this list: 802 Switchover Issue 170 Sound Updates (What keeps keeping this) ATS MAC updates 220 EB 220 Cab Light just to name a few. Glad to get a patch (though none of them apply to me) but was hoping for more.
Yes, don't worry. It is not just you!! I feel like a right mug for all the money I have given them over the last couple of years. At the start I didn't know any better, but no excuses after I wised up a bit and still kept handing over the cash. Haven't played the game in a while now, due to all the issues and I know these things are never getting fixed, but I still get excited about every patch, thinking this will be the day they turn it all around....
Considering March was earmarked as being the month where major game improvements were going to be trialled this patch feels disappointing. Haven’t updated yet but no doubt it’ll will break more than it fixes.
I really like the update of the of e94 088, the pantograph animation is super nice! But no update for the bogies of the class 86. Almost a year after it's release. Maybe soon when Just trains new doc will be released. The ATSF c40-8w has now a wiper bug so I refunded this dlc, but the update is a big improvement.
I reported to missing station announcements on ECW 3 weeks ago i thought that may of been fixed by now
The 3d model of the wiper in front of the engineer is broken. I noticed it in the first 2 seconds. I have no screenshot of it, but it's probably visible on YouTube.
If you want things to move forward, do as I do: don't buy until it's perfect. DTG might be able to help you.
They finally decided to fix something on the Harlem Line. So why not fix more? M7a is overpowerful. M7a speedometer sometimes stuck with "overspeed" status. AI sometimes stuck at signals - when the signal changes AI continues meditate with the status "stop signal".
So the performance is still broken (introduced by another update a week ago) and the PIS thing still not fixed? Extremely disappointing!
Just 6 months until TSW7 then all above will probably be resolved. Oh and as for them only just finding out about the PIS issue, nah, I smell BS there I'm afraid
There was no gaslighting or "they". One person erroneously said the 17th, another person corrected that. Honest whoops that happens sometimes.
I'm begining to think there are people in life who never make mistakes (or think they don't). As the saying goes, to err is human but to really mess things up you need a computer.
I would submit that we're actually going to be seeing more substantial patches and bugfixes over the next couple of months. Why? Because of the end of the mad stampede to get product out the door by the end of the fiscal reporting year on March 31. Expect a slowdown in DLC, but - hopefully - more focus on fixing what's broken. That is, until the mad ruch to get TSW7 out....
Sorry but that's BS. Harry wasn't wrong when they said the 17th. If release was always scheduled for the 19th, which was mentioned in today's article as being the case, the update was absolutely scheduled for the 17th. Then "something" happened that caused a delay for the preview and update, which is fine, and happens, but then Jan was like, "there was no delay, we never said the 17th", which is the very definition of gaslighting! It's
I saw the Acela was updated so I figured that they FINALLY addressed the bug that has been with it since day 1 - where the tractive effort in cruise control is always max no matter what you set the throttle at. Nope. Still broken. Exceeding 3 years now that they haven't fixed this basic bug that they've been aware of since release day.
Still no update for the Birmingham Crewe gameplay issues (red signals/stuck AI trains). I've (not bought it yet - I'm holding out). Or the broken announcements on the Class 805 which I have bought. Very disappointing. I've not touched TSW for about a month now.
That’s why I mentioned the 380 and a few other items earlier, but got flamed for my trouble. As I said the Feedback threads and Troubleshooting forum is full of issues. At least the SimRail devs actually go on their forum and note when an issue is reported what the status is and whether it is regarded as an actual issue. They then actively come along and close it once the fix is delivered. Little wonder I’m currently sitting here dreaming about Transport Fever 3!
I called it on the December roadmap stream. When they were talking about blurry textures I commented that it sounds like we are several months away from any fix best to hope its with TSW7. And Matt cut Alex off and quotes my comment by saying no, it cannot and will not take that long. Well I still stand by what I said we are several months away except now I don't think it will be fixed until TSW8 minimum.
So instead of Harry being mistaken about the 17th being specified, Jan was mistaken about the 17th not being specified? Different person, same whoops. Not even close to the "very definition of gaslighting", BTW. Gaslighting is entirely malicious, a form of manipulation seeking to control people's thinking by making them question what they believe to be real. On the other hand, insisting again and again that a simple miscommunication is gaslighting in order to sell an agenda of bad intent is itself a lot closer to gaslighting.
One of the community team lied in their communication over the patch. Whether that lie was intentional or not it is still a lie. I don’t buy this misunderstanding claptrap, their primary job is to communicate effectively with us, clearly that is not happening. Yes mistakes happen but you should own the mistake and apologise for it rather than doubling down over it. How can the community trust anything we are told if we can’t have faith in what we are told is accurate?
People bandy words around without knowing what they mean half the time. So much hyperbole over a mistake no wonder these forums are being sidelined. If this is the worse thing going on in some people's lives they are very lucky.
Yep, in all honesty, if I owned DTG I'd close this place down. Constant jibes and people moaning about lies, gaslighting and personal attacks recently. They are under no obligation to do any of this, in fact I'm sure the community management team is a significant overhead for the business. At some point it all becomes an unnecessary evil and one that can easily be amputated. Close the forum, make half the CM team redundant and increase margins (not saying they should do this BTW). To be clear, I'm am not a happy clapper and I am definitely not happy about the state of the core game, especially being and X Box user. However, release streams and release dates being moved by a day or two, or even a week is not something I'm going to grab my pitchfork for. Dissapointing, maybe, but I think people need to put it into context and take a breath. Keep pushing like what I have seen in recent months and I could easily see this place getting closed. That doesn't help anyone. We need to stick with constructive criticism and then the individual can decide if they want to keep subsidising it, by buying content.
It's the drama I don't get. A stream is cancelled and it's like DTG have just committed a heinous crime. Any constructive criticism is drowned out, people like Matt who regularly engaged with people don't visit. And now the "community" has started getting personal against DTG staff. Then there are the tinfoil hat conspiracy theories. Some people need to get a life frankly. I wonder if some individuals actually are capable of not buying everything. I've refunded one item as I rarely buy straight away as I want to see what I'm getting and if it all works, but apparently I'm the enabler and fanboy!
That's what I noticed yesterday on Discord. Matt, Candace, and Harry were chatting naturally with the participants, while the forum was silent, probably due to the high level of negativity. I wouldn't be surprised if the forum was shut down soon, because what we see here is a parade of hate, plain and simple. Even though the game has its bugs and lack of communication, the toxic community that always complains is making this place unbearable. It's that old saying: if the game is bad, switch to another simulator, simple as that. How are the developers supposed to address the problems with people showing so much hate? I imagine third-party developers must be going through the same thing. Soon there won't be any more content to release because of these heated discussions that happen with every launch.
66 meg download from Steam....... Doesn't sound like much Looking at the patch notes I have the GWE:R, Harlem Line and Acela as well as core updates obviously. 66Meg sound about right? Can't remember such a small core update before.
I think the Community Managers should be much more aggressive with bans. All the Hate here is sometimes hard to bear and After all the stuff Discord pulled recently, I'm definitely not switching there.
I'm not sure about Discord it doesn't sound like the best place and I am not that into social media, and Facebook is worse than here.
Yeah i have the same feelings.... Its so overdone.... Go outside take some fresh are and beheave youre self
Hey folks, just hopping in here to clear up a few things as I can see some useful feedback, but also speculation that I think needs to be clarified. First; the patch. We completely understand expectations were high for this, especially as it's been a while since we've been able to release a patch. Feedback is being noted, and we're hoping to have a more substantial next patch for you. We're planning this in April, and we'll confirm dates closer to the time, and ideally present clear patch notes prior to this going out. Something else that has been noted is the information regarding the patch date. I mentioned in my comment last week that this would go live yesterday alongside Liberec Mastery, because that's the original date I was given. When it comes to game dev and juggling multiple changes to comms, it can be difficult to communicate with other members of the team, and we apologise that this wasn't communicated more clearly. Our team are doing our best to give you all the most updated information, and we can admit we've had some recent difficulties with this, so we'll aim to keep improving. I've taken this feedback on board, it's been reported to the relevant teams and we'll update you as soon as we know when our next patch is due. Thank you.
