No instead of prepping the build to show the Medway valley route the devs have been working flat out in trying to sort the Penalty brake bug out on the M8. Thats why the stream was postponed till next week.

Dissapointing yes, but imagine the spleen being vented by the community if the penalty brake bug went unfixed.

That still doesn't make sense. If there's a completed build ready to release, then there's a build they can use for a preview

 

If anybody cares, according to British ace in their ambassador discord the reason given for the higher price is due to ‘supplier costs’, whatever that means. But more importantly, it shouldn't be the new standard

 

We probably just got charged interest on them fixing an issue before release.

 

As the nice as the explanation is, do we really need to rely on ambassadors to tell us this?

 

the "ambassadors" need to guarantee the dlcs for free, so it's obvious they'll come up with some justification for us to paying the price of a third-party premium route for a standard dtg route
we will never see criticism from these people

 

Or supplier costs have actually increased. It may have something to do with AI pushing up all computer related costs (GPUs, RAM, storage, server costs) and perhaps a little to do with rising energy costs due to unnecessary wars waged by crazy world leaders. DTG and their suppliers will be facing these increased costs and it gets passed on to us unfortunately. The direct and knock-on effects of these increased costs are profound so a 10% increase in DLC cost is understandable. There may be more increases to come.

 

Finally, some realism. Inflation is always a factor in everything, so wages go up, costs go up. And that's just 'normal' inflation before you factor in the specifics mentioned here.

Software companies can only do so much to absorb these extra costs and not pass them on the the consumer, but eventually the 'standard' price for something has to go up.

 

No they don’t. And from the initial feedback on the route it’s not looking good so far for the £33 asking price.

Yes Riviera Line was just about okay, but they still couldn’t get the 150 right and they completely ignore the masses of flawed content in their wake. Oh yes and the 171 pack is recent, looking at the feedback on that all sorts of issues. So I will not part with full price for any product made by Rivet or that it comes to light they have been involved with. 70% off in a sale is my best offer.

 

it’s a matter of opinion but i feel that riviera is a very well built route. the 170 pack was very good too. compared to rivet’s old practices they’ve definitely got better
