Hello everyone I still have many layers that do not trigger in different routes. While I thought this issue had been resolved I recently discovered that there still seems to be a problem: here's a few examples: Kinzigtalbahn: some services that require Aschaffenburg - Miltenberg are active, some are grayed out. Aschaffenburg - Miltenberg looks like this while I own both Bremen - Oldenburg and Kassel - Würzburg London Overground (Goblin Line) while I own GWE and SHS... In some cases the greyed layers are ticket, that seems to be standard, but if I click "select all" all greyed get removed. Anyone can explain me how to read layer information or someone can confirm he/she also has the issue?
Please check out the TSW Add-On Database for layer requirements: https://support.dovetailgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/28572766293266-Train-Sim-World-Add-On-Database
Hi Chris, thanks for the reply. So the problem is the DLCs mentioned in the layer-tab are wrong! for Maintalbahn It says I need Bremen-Oldenburg but I would actually need MSB = Main Spessart Bahn to activate RE55 AI services and it says Kassel-Würzburg but I need Niddertalbahn for BR 628. And so on... Excel helps but there is also errors in the game data...
What you see in-game is not a requirements list. It can only show you what you have installed. Ideally, we'd want to change this in the future, but this is a known limitation.
I think I now understand the meaning of the lower part: it's rather the name of the consist that uses the DLC and not the name of the DLC. But I still get this on New York - Trenton but I own LIRR M7 and there is no different information in the Database Sheet...
It's an internal plugin name. Not very user friendly, and I'm pushing to get this changed in the future! This layer requires the original Long Island Rail Road, do you have this installed?
Hi Chris I own the LIRR Commuter: New York - Long Beach, Hempstead & Hicksville Route but not the Long Island Rail Road: New York - Hicksville Route, which would be refered to as the original route I think. So no I don't think I own the original Route.
Can this not be updated to the new LIRR v2 M7 please? Would also like to have the layer as Im sure everyone else who started with V2 would like if they have Pen to Trenton, since there's no point on going to buy the route for a second time just for that, especially since its an old out of date DLC superseded by v2
One from me is I cant wrap my head around this one for Penn-trenton, as well as Harlem lines as I have sand patch, Horseshoe curve, cane creek, sherman hill, cajon pass but no statics on this route show up as per the layers and they are all showing not owned..
It is probably a ton of work since every service has to be changed to the v2 of the lirr trains. Then those who don't own v2 would lose all their layers.
So on todays Sale I bought Horseshoe Curve, mainly to finally get some freight on the New York lines. I now own and installed all DLCs listed in the Add-On Database for New York Trenton and the Harlem Line, but on both lines still no single freight layer is available! Now it's crystal clear layer unlockment is still bugged
So for me since purchasing the Peninsula corridor route (including the mp36) and CX c40-8w with the sales the Harlem line is now complete but NEC Trenton line is still missing one layer in SFJ Sand patch grade and unsure what it comes from (I have Cane creek, Sherman hill, cajon pass and horseshoe curve along with sand patch grade) can anyone shed any light
I agree. The LIRR Commuter DLC didn’t even exist back when the enhanced timetable for NY-Trenton came out, so of course the layer was made using the original LIRR route. I agree that the situation is suboptimal for those who only own the newer route, but it would be unfair to take the layer away from those who currently have it. There is probably a number of players who bought the original LIRR just to get the layer, and I personally wouldn’t have bought NY-Trenton if the LIRR DLC I have owned for a long time didn’t have the layer there. It can also be argued that the use of the older LIRR DLC (smaller file size, less complex rolling stock) helps to reduce stuttering on a very busy timetable with an exceptionally full Penn Station. A very easy solution to this problem would be to automatically grant the original LIRR route to everyone who owns LIRR Commuter, similar to buyers of Leipzig-Dresden getting Dresden-Riesa for free — coincidentally the main reason for that is also the layers it provides to numerous routes. As a nice side effect, this would also make the LIRR M3 DLC more attractive to owners of LIRR Commuter, since I believe the original LIRR is still required to be installed to be able to use that loco add-on (at least according to the Steam product description).
For NY-trenton I found a mod over at Trainsim community that subs in the LIRRv2 rolling stock so all good now, Penn for NYT is nice and busy!
