thanks and totally agree whats good for the sim is good for the community which returns the good to the developers to make more content
I’m looking forward to seeing the new upgraded night lighting I’ve been hearing about for this route. That’s going to be amazing. Can’t wait to see.
As the latest update from Dovetail Games hasn't fixed the reported bug where display boards show "Not in Service" in a large number of add-ons, I'd like to ask whether the Class 375 on the MVL will be immune to this bug? My concern is that we'll have to wait many long months for an official patch. Perhaps we’ll have to wait as long as the inevitable arrival of TSW7
The 375/3 and /6 are not affected by that core issue. They have their own PIS system. Layered trains from SEH and the class 700 use the core PIS, so that's out of our control.
Do the 375s still have the same inaccuracy as all 3rd rail EMUs to date namely the loss of power whenever a single shoe loses contact ignoring the presence of a 750v connection between all shoes within a unit in the prototypes?
Guess I'll ask here seeing as preview stream is at some undisclosed point now. Have you managed to implement some form of track shadow for the third rail? I found it very noticeable on ECWR, especially seeing it's sat next to rails that do have shadows.
Do we already know the layers? With sale going on, it would be the perfect moment to upgrade the existing routes to have all the layers necessary for the MVL. (I tried searching this topic but didn't find the information. Sorry if I overlooked it)
No, basically. It’s core unfortunately. The stream is on the 25th as previously noted. Layers; - SEHS - Class 700 - RHTT - Flying Scotsman - West Somerset Railway - Class 33 - Cargoline Packs 1 & 2 (Aggregates and Petroleum)
The rather epic deep dive article has gone live btw. DTGJames has done us proud https://live.dovetailgames.com/live...dway-valley&utm_term=coming-soon&utm_content=
It looks absolutely stunning, obviously a Day 1 purchase for me and that's only really reserved for JT's routes nowadays
This is very impressive - such a detail packed article, and only £29.99 for what sounds like it’d easily qualify for the £32.99 bracket. Great job
To show just how long the article is….. I haven’t even finished reading it yet!!! So far I’m amazed, truly an incredible route I cannot wait! And considering the level of detail the fact it’s only £30 instead of £33 is crazy!
This looks awesome. Much as I love the game, it's rare that I get this excited for a route. That's mainly down to the dev team being some of the best modders. I'll be honest, when it was first announced, I wasn't that interested, due to the area it's set in, but thought I'd buy it anyway to support a new team. However the more I heard about it the more interested I've got. The article has just increased my anticipation. Looks absolutely stunning, the details look incredible. Day 1 purchase and probably my first run will be a 33 railtour!
Day One here which has become rare for me and kudos to the team for keeping the price at the more pocket friendly £30.
Simply incredible! Well done to the Firefly team, for showcasing their passion and hard work. It’s already an unbelievable route in TSC, having fired that up again to play, so I just can’t wait to have it in TSW, again something else that is going to set the bar even higher for UK DLC’s. Thank you to all involved!
This looks like it has the potential to be a gold standard route and I’m really looking forward to its release. I hope it matches expectations
Fingers crossed, because I agree, it looks exceptional from the screenshots. We are finally getting to see what can really be achieved with TSW
I think the riviera line and Birmingham to Crewe route have already shown us (other than blurry textures).
The GWE Remaster has set the bar for immersion and attention to detail imo. The lighting and rail singing is really impressive. Riviera is great, but I do think more could have been done with the ballast colour and water textures in certain areas. I haven’t purchased B2C yet due to how negatively it was received.
Yes. SEHS for the Javelin and the 465. Plus class 700, RHTT, cargo line 1&2. Also the class 33 I believe. Don't know if there's more.
What are all the different collectibles on MVL? Hopefully so new unique ones, I saw in one of the screenshots that one of them is the defibrillator.
This is going to be a great route for hunting collectibles. Nice chance to explore the stations on foot.
Thats why I like doing the collectables you can great explore of the yards and sidings as well as the stations.
Jetwash mentions all the layers for MVL. P.s. Still fairly new to the forum. Sorry if I'm quoting someone on the forum in a wrong way.
I got B2C last weekend, I had held off because of the blurry textures but I have to say, the route is beautiful.
It is great in terms of scenery and gameplay. It's just that performance is below par, especially with the blurring on the Birmingham to Stafford section. I have no blurs on the Stafford-Crewe stretch. I just hope they can (and will) apply some of the recent knowledge regarding textures to improve it.
Are you running PC or console? I’ve not really experienced the texture issues via PS5 on other routes, but understand it was across all platforms?
Do you own the Avanti 805? You’re guaranteed to see blurry textures on B2C and WCMLS. The other obvious culprit is the Mildway line, about half way the blurry textures start cropping up. That’s the only routes/loco’s I notice blurry textures on my PS5 Pro.
Looking forward to seeing the stream of this route, some very impressive work done with new features, really excited
I am on PS5. Haven't had much trouble with blurs in general, bit on this route, they consistently appear (not when I do a spin with the 390 on the Stafford-Crewe part).
This is also true. I have no issues with blurs on WCML, except with the 805. On Mildmay I can prevent the blurs by turning off some layers that can hardly be seen anyway (esp around St Pancras and Kings Cross).
The game load all textures in a texture pool. When that pool gets full, the game scales back the textures. Which causes the blurs. Reducing textures (on train and scenery) is apparently possible without losing that much graphic quality, so they are now researching how that can be done. At least that's what I understand of it.
Went on the line today, I'd say I'm impressed. Station modelling was spot on when I do the comparison with the screenshots, to the point where ALL shelters, signs, benches, help points are on the very same location in real life, with the only exception in New Hythe where a standalone sign is in place of one mounting on the wall in real life. For the sounds however, Attached (zipped) is my recording for the exact same stop sitting one row behind the announcements trailer, and I do have the following complaints: The interior sounds, despite sounding fantastic, is too crisp in the relevant trailer. The real thing should be more muffled as well as extra touches with the HVAC units. The announcement is bad, and if you compare it's day and night difference. Start from 1:50 mark in the recording. Lastly, that's the mastery layer.
